Thank you for all of the information. Please forgive me. I made fun of the way you pronounce the letter D. You are amazing and very knowledgeable. Thank you again, sir
Quick question...when I tried the same thing...I get a different color version of the image when I drop it into any post program like Photoshop...so what are your preferences in color management to get this type of workflow to work ? Thanks!!
oh ok so when you export an image you need to check what file format you are using, if it is jpeg or png you are basically compressing everything down to 8 bit. In order to use the full range you need to export it as exr, however then you will need to calibrate the gamma in photoshop to get back to the levels you had in maya. Exr is a 32 bit format and what we see in the arnold viewport is a color corrected image to be displayed in our monitors.
as always, great explanations! you manage to explain things that are complex^^ it would be great if you could make (or re-make) a video of the same style on: what a maps (displacement, curvature, AO,albedo...) how to extract correctly these maps in zbrush thanks :)
hi, i don't see any code in the description. but i bought it anyway because is very affordable and more important, you are doing such a great job :). keep doing what you do!
Hope you are doing well your series are really great, thank you so much. Could you please help me with this problem? I've tried multiple times to open ACES EXR files with AOVs in Photoshop, but when I open them, the colors change and they appear in the raw color space. I've also tried adding an ACES LUT, but the colors still don't match perfectly. Do you know how to work with ACES and Photoshop? Because it works fine in Nuke
