    I just bought the Outlander after looking at the following PHEVs, Rav4, Outlander, Mazada CX70 and CX90, Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tuscon, and Ford Escape. I am 6' 7", I could not fit into the RAV4. The Mitsubishi has a better towing capacity and more roomier. The RAV4 is way overrated. I am very happy with Mitsubishi!

I cannot believe the gas mileage I am getting on longer trips .I get 2.8 l /100 km to 3.9 l /100km on longer trips. I went to KW Mitsubishi in Kitchener, Ontario to get it. They have stock. I had my first service and the dealer knows I live 130ks away. I make an appointment and they take my PHEV immediately and service it. I am very pleased with their service and fast turnaround. I test drove the Kia Telliride and Sorento... way over priced! I test drove the RAV without hybrid, onky 135hp...PITIFUL!! I drove the Nissan Rogue.. to small and only 155hp. I bought the Mitsubishi Outlander SE S-AWD Black Edition, with Mitsubishi's beautiful Pearl White. This vehicle is amazing. Drives great. I drove this vehicle through 13in. of snow and, later, ice. It never slipped once. I drove by 4 x 4 trucks and SUV'S slid off the road every where. With my snow mode engaged, the Mirsubishi makes it impossible to over rev tue engine.. pkus it has hill assist and 5 different drive modes. 185hp naturally aspirated engine. Best SUV in this class. By far! Best AWD system on the market. Only Subaru can compete.

      The Outlander is definitely an impressive design inside and out, and the interior of the outlander is lovely… but it’s definitely not up to the same quality of the Rav4. The outlander is also underpowered for a vehicle of its class, particularly a 7 seat SUV.
      The outlander is also more expensive than the rav4… and has a traditional CVT🤢

    Bought a 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander back in the day. At first, I was leery about the brand but decided to give it a try as the RAV4, my first choice, was thousands more and out of my budget range. Bought my 2022 Outlander SEL Touring early Oct. 2021 in Nicholasville and have loved every inch and ride we've owned it. I have a friend who owns a RAV4 and every time he rides with me he says "I love your car." Before buying I watched numerous video comparisons, including yours, and the Outlander won us over. I don't recall you comparing the width of the door openings - Outlander's seem to go an extra 5 to 6 inches wider which helps when you're loading suitcases or boxes in the back seat while your golf clubs stay in the back storage space. [An aside - do you all live near Brannon Crossing or is it just that the dealerships are near by? I drive that road to my golf course 2 or 3 times a week.]

    We had a 2023 Outlander for 41K+ miles (deer totaled it) and were generally happy with it... the lack of a spare tire always made me uneasy, but we had no issues. The techno-gadgetry could be glitchy, and the adaptive cruise wouldn't always kick in, leaving just conventional cruise. Almost any rain above a drizzle would knock out the forward sensors, but we never got less that 30mpg except for very short grocery runs and routinely got over 35mpg, with a couple times over 40mpg -- the CVT transmission was unimpressive, but fine for our use and overall we liked the Outlander very much with the above noted items. It was very comfortable on longer trips (above 1500 miles in 24hrs...)

      But you can have both spare tire and 3rd row seat. You just need to buy ones for Nissan Murano, under the 3rd row seat there's a place for spare tire.

      @wsu610 7 месяцев назад +1

      How can you tell reliabilty when the Outlander is only 2 years old and MPG? Comparing Gas vs Hybrid. Resale? How much more you will pay with Rav4 when new, you can get an Outlander less than MSRP while RAV4 is 5k$ more than MSRP. How about warranty of 10 year 100k miles.😊

      Reliability - Based on the past reliability history of mitsubishi.
      Price -- though Toyota is pricey you would still end up with less costs due to least issues, less maintenance, more mpgs and highest resale values.
      10 years warranty -- You need it or else you cant be peaceful for Outlander but you don't need that for Toyota as you already know it lasts for more than 10 years easily.

    • @wsu610
      @wsu610 7 месяцев назад

      The review is not about Mitsubishi as a whole. Did you watch the review? Did you see the whole line up of Mitsubishi cars or Toyota for that matter? Comparing with Regular vs Hybrid is not fair isn't it? Price is not accurate as well. An XSE hybrid for 36k$? Cmon.

    I love the warranty, and that it’s the underdog.
    I also like the many models to choose from. Having owned a 2017 C-Max hybrid and having no issues in 72,000 miles makes me very interested in the PHEV unit.

    Here in Australia, PHEV got fringe benefit tax (FBT) exemption up to April 2025. So, getting a PHEV using Novated Lease WILL cost a lot less than buying a hybrid (they are considered conventional vehicle), even compared with a full EV vehicles. Using the Novated Lease calculator, the cost is almost half for hybrid/conventional vehicles, but just about 5% less against a full EV vehicle.
    If hybrid cars got a plug-in, it can be considered as a PHEV. Too bad, RAV4 (and most if not all hybrid cars) in Australia does not have that option.
    For me, the best option at the moment is getting the Mitsubishi Outlander with Novated Lease.

    I have looked at both, both are great looking cars but I loved the XSE Rav 4 exterior/ interior a lot better plus Toyota offers you a Capped service for 5 years. Mitsubishi 10 years warranty is good but the services are very Expensive plus to have 10 years warranty you have to get them to service it. I have ordered an XSE Rav 4 Toyota’s the only bad thing is the 18 month wait for Hybrid RAV4’s.

    I currently own a 2023 Mitsubishi RVR or Outlander Sport, depending on where you live. I put a deposit a RAV4 Hybrid in May and am still waiting, they're saying that, unless I get a cancellation, it could be as long as March or April 2025 before I get it. No real rush because I have a reliable vehicle but the wait times here in Canada are ridiculous. I agree with those who said the comparison should have been "Outlander to RAV4 gas" or "PHEV to Hybrid" but I guess the similar price criteria wouldn't work. The gas only Mitsubishi is, in my opinion, underpowered by comparison. The reliability is actually slightly better in the Mitsubishi (according to Consumer Reports) and the warrantee is unbeatable but, the acceleration, fuel economy and spare tire of the RAV4 Hybrid was the deciding factor for me. I also don't use the sunroof so it's not a bonus for me to even have one, much less a panoramic sunroof.

    I have watched a couple of review videos of the Outlander. In the other one, you mentioned it has 80 cubic square feet of cargo behind the front row but the Mitsubishi site says it only has 64.3 for 2024 vs it did have 80 for 2023. That would also mean the cargo space would be larger on the 2024 Rav4 vs the 2024 Outlander. The piece that doesn't seem to make sense is every other measurement between the 2023 and 2024 is the same, so the only thing that changed was a decrease of cargo space, by 15 cubic square feet. Anyone have any idea where that cargo space would have gone or is the Mitsubishi site just wrong.

    A Rav4 Prime vs. the Outlander PHEV would have been a better comparison for those with questions about them. I did my research but was not able to secure a Rav4 Prime; I went with the Outlander PHEV. You won't have to wait years or pay over MSRP for it. Leasing it gets you the tax credit at the time of this writing, but I always recommend test driving and doing your own research.

    The Rav 4 has way too much cheap blackout plastic everywhere and looks silly as a result. The Mitsubishi wins on exterior styling. The Outlander also has a nicer interior with more soft touch points like the armrest and door panels. Another plus is 4K off window sticker on the Outlander, something I'm not seeing on the Toyota. It probably would have been better to compare a normal 2.5 gas engine Rav 4 and not a hybrid to better match these 2 up

    The only thing that gave the Toyota the win was resale/reliability. I read that and it says to me that I should be a used Outlander PHEV in 2025 or 2026. I'll still get 8 years of warranty and it will be a bargain price.
