An Explosive Weather Setup to Start 2024

- The environment will rapidly be changing as we move from calendar year 2023 into the earliest piece of 2024. Not only will a freight train-like flow of low latitude pressure systems impact the southern tier United States, but it does look like our first very aggressive cold plunge will invade the West and Central regions of the country. This could be the pattern shift to fully awaken the winter season

Hey Nazario yeah last night the low level clouds was moving super fast late Night with occasional strong breeze pretty spooky looking .
Lots of fast moving low level flow with this cold pool pushing down. Does look spooky but breathtaking when you can see it at night. Same with the low cloud during some of our tropical/subtropical systems

In Tampa, the clouds were almost storm- like as the temperatures continued to drop- the warmest was about 62° today. Perfect!
It’ll be even better today and tomorrow for us!
Love how you give your input on how what is going on with the weather pattern today points to a possible active hurricane season. I know it's a wait and see, but anyone who's paid attention to how the atmosphere, the ocean temps, and overall weather patterns work. You can get a really good idea about what may come our way. Great work!

Back in Arizona during my time there, it would drop down to the 20s sometimes during the winter and both the cars I drove would rattle as if they’d fall apart! Lol

We could get some big storms in first 10 days in January! When arctic air meets warm air, it creates atmospheric instability in a low pressure. The one that I am concerned about is the one on or around January 10th. But will find out more late next week.
Yep, still a ways away. There was a lot of talk about a stratospheric “warming” event of some sort but all our models are flipping the script on that. So we’ll need to watch as we get thru to 2024
Thinking we could see some action down here around the 9th or so.
I agree. Smaller scale low pressure but dynamics might set us up for some isolated stronger storms. Watching as we get closer
Anyway, everyone in the southeast and California and desert southwest should be monitoring these storm systems.I am beginner to wonder if the 2024 Atlantic hurricane season is going to be another historic season.

I saw 👀 the climate prediction center and wow the whole continental United States is expecting above average rainfall. It has me wondering if the Atlantic and Pacific AOIs' will be active during tropical cyclone season?
I think it’s a fair bet to assume so. Looking forward to digesting some early 2024 climo data soon
