Hands down the best review I've seen of this bike. I'm glad you took the time to do it. No bells and whistles of background music and highway gopros. Straight to the point, explained DCT and appealed to the right crowd. Good job.
I'm a female who is really interested in motorcycles. Once I pay off my Chrysler 200, I plan on buying an automatic motorcycle. I am not ashamed to admit it, but I cannot shift gears to save my life. This is the best review thus far. Thanks
Hey girl, if you are buying the bike to enjoy yourself you are going to have a blast. I am a disabled Vet and I have a Can-Am Ryker 2019. It's fully automatic and it has three wheels, 2 on the front and 1 on the back. It looks small but it has a good kick. I believe for new bikes in the market right now, it has the best prices. If you don't mind 3 wheels check it out. I am really comfortable with the price and you have 3 to choose from. I got it at the Mancusso Motorcycle Dealership here in Houston, by Bellaire Ave. I am new here, don't know much. But, if you close to this dealership, go and check it out. The people are awesome and they will answer whatever question you have. Buy you are not going to regret getting an automatic bike. You are going to love it once you start riding. Good luck and let us know how it when.👍🤓
Great review! I am 42 years old and just traded in my Honda Fury for this CTX with DCT with the full fairing and it was the best decision I have made in a long time. Honda should make more bikes with DCT because its super smooth. If you haven't taken this bike out for a test ride then do so, you will have a better understanding as to why the owners of these bikes LOVE them, as I do!
Great review. I bought this exact Honda last May after i crashed my 10 year old Road King in a bad curve. I survived and healed up fine. I decided this bike would be better for me to continue riding and not have such a heavy bike. I really love it. It's not for everyone but for the woman and older guys this is a great bike. My Harley was very heavy and it always had me concerned when backing into parking spots and the heat from the big V-twin in Texas summer heat was almost to much to handle. I recommend this bike. Love it.
Why is it that, in the motorcycle culture, anything without a gear-shift is somehow either a compensation for an invalid, or is otherwise emasculating? Even this reviewer is stating "New riders, women, or older folks who don't want bigger bikes". Why can't someone who is competent with a gear shift, but likes the ease of an automatic, like the bike without being a sissy? Do these same folks only by cars and trucks with 4-on-the-floor or 3-on-the-tree? I've been looking at some automatics, like this one and the NM4 (which is basically the same bike underneath), and all of my friends (Harley riders, of course) are all bad-mouthing the thing. "Real motorcycles have gear shifts", and junk like that. Hook a radio, nav-system, cooler, trunk-space, high-tech suspension, ABS, LED lighting, or any other crazy new high-tech system to a bike, and its all awesome-sauce. But a computer controlled transmission? OMG! IT'S NOT A MOTORCYCLE ANYMORE!
I feel the same way about this bike. I've always ridden with a clutch, but I'm tempted to buy this automatic one. I can already feel the negativity from everybody I know, and I haven't even mentioned it yet. I guess it's a cultural thing. I kinda feel the same way, I like it because it's new and interesting, but I don't because it doesn't have a clutch lol.
I prefer Automatic hands down. Manual is fine on the highway, but in town it's just annoying. I'm buying CTX700 DCT this spring. Anyone who has a problem with what I like to drive can go buy their own bike. They didn't work a million hours to by this bike. I did.
I guess I never mentioned it, but I actually bought the CTX 700, and I bought it in manual transmission. Owning it now, I don't regret it at all. I like to feel like I'm in control of the transmission, especially when taking off fast.
Love when actual owners review their bike s. As an "older" rider that believes this bike would be much more fun than a e-bike and more affordable used ! Honda = value!
I HAVE SEE ELEVEN OTHER VIDEOS. ON THE DCT 700 HONDA AND YOUR'S IS BY FAR MORE INSIGHTFUL THAN ALL OTHERS COMBINED ! THANKYOU MUCH. BLESSINGS,MARK ANTHONY.
Let me first say, I got to take my hat off to you sir! This was an awesome review -- I always wanted to buy and learn how to ride a motor cycle -- but my knees are bad and arthritis pain every where due to sports. I'm 6'4 250 pounds - I wasn't able to handle the clutch and all that shifting going on, so I gave up on the idea of buying a motor cycle. I heard about automatic motor cycles by 'Ridley Automatic Transmission Motor Cycles' -- but who has $40k to $50k these days to shove out for a bike. Further more, I don't know anyone who owns a automatic motor cycle, all of my buddies have "Harley's". This was the best news I've heard about in a long time -- it always puzzled me -- if you can make an automatic car...why can't you make an automatic motor cycle? Yes, this is great news -- And the weird thing about it, I found your video by accident while doing a internet search for (automatic motor cycles) -- which I was checking out the 3 wheel 'Trike" -- they look kind of nice and easy to handle. But, any way, I will be taking a closer look at the Honda CTX700.
Great review. You supplied most of the info I was looking for. I've been looking at this model for the past 3 years. I'm 66 and currently have a 1999 Shadow AERO VT1100C3. It's a little top heavy for me and I went on a family bike trip out west. It was an 1800 mile trip but I clocked only 1200. It overheated a few times. Glad I went but I live in Florida and it's a little too much bike for the short trips. Thanks again.
I just recently bought a 2014 CTX700 DCT and love it. I have been given a lot of off the wall comments for it being an auto, until those folks drive it. They fall in love, just as I did. This is a great review for the bike. I have the same model, minus any extra add-ons. If any of you are "thinking" of buying an auto bike, and are looking at this one, I say do it. Getting on the road by just putting it in drive/sport mode is very relaxing. Love my CTX700 DCT!!! Btw, for any that are curious, I am a 35 year old Male (not that it really matters?).
I sat on a CTX700 DCT. I wish I had a motorcycle endorsement so I could test ride it. it was very comfortable, easy on my bad back, and the fact it can shift automatically were huge selling points. I've always wanted to ride a motorcycle. But Manual transmissions stopped me. But when I heard about this bike and the other honda bikes that offer DCT as an option, that opened up the motorcycle world to me. All I need to do is take the MSF class, get my endorsement and I'll be off buying this bike from my local dealer.
You need to pass the safety course on a manual tran. bike and then get your license. I'm not good at manual transmission of cars so I thought the bike would be an issue. I learned real quick and have no issues. practice, practice is the key.
No you do not at least not in California. You don't have to pass your class c driving test with a manual and the same applies to motorcycles. It is based on what you are going to ride; for example if you have a scooter above 49CC then all you have to do is pass and you will get your M2 (same as all motorcycles). M2 allows you to ride ANY type of motorcycle (auto/manual) or scooter.
WoW this is what you call a "Motorcycle Review"not somebody who's driving and didn't even care showing the Bike he is reviewing! You just helped me sir deciding on this bike over the Suzuki Burgman 650...Thank you for a wonderful review!
I'm in my 20's and I want a DCT bike. It allows the rider to simply enjoy the ride without the stress of shifting and worrying about stalling the bike. I highly recommend a DCT bike to ANYONE, of ANY age. Under 30 here and I want one.
First of all, great review; thanks for taking the time to produce and put it up here on RUclips! I am buying a virtual twin to this bike in 2 days...minus the top-box/trunk. It's a Red 2018 with the fairing system and Red factory saddlebags, which looks just like new and only has 6,125 miles on it. Oh, and for most of those miles it was (literally) ridden by a "Little Old Man From Orlando". 😉😉😆😆 I'm 67 but this will be my first motorcycle! I can't wait until I get insurance, complete registration, and finish a training program so I can get my license and hit the road!
Great video. I have to same bike, but not the luggage. Too bad there aren't any after market saddlebags for this bike and I refuse to bend over for Honda and give them $1000 for the bags and all the hardware required for it. I did find some after market saddlebags I liked, but can't find any saddlebag mounts for the bike. So for now, I just throw a dry bag over the back seat and tie it down. Hopefully more after market accessories will be forth coming.
Thank you Mario. Like the extra's you added. I did add the saddle bags. They were expensive and one of the side panels separated from the case on the top. The dealer replaced the bags and now i'm happy. Ride is great and comfortable. Regular 87 oct. gas is a huge plus. Use to cost me $22.00 to fill up my road King. $7.00 to fill up the Honda CTX700 ND.
Great review! I'm wanting to purchase as my first motorcycle. I love everything about it... Especially the DCT. I can't wait to get out on the road with this bike.
Just bought a 2014 with 194 miles. I don't think I will ever own a bike a good all around as this one. Riding this thing is like a dream. On the con side I would like more fuel, i get 68 miles to the gallon but I would like another gallon or so. Gets 214miles at this time.
Thanks for the review, great stuff. I have been in the search for a new bike for a while and my guy at the dealership has been trying to get me to test ride on of these for a while; I'm going tomorrow. Here's my dilemma...I've been a cruiser biker for a while, I currently own a yamaha 650 and I love my bike but at this point I've outgrown it, doesn't give me the speed I need to keep up with my biker group on the highway, I'm getting left behind and really putting a beating on my engine trying to keep up with them even at 70mph. I'm only 5'3 so trying to find a bike that's comfortable at my height is a challenge as well as trying to find something that's not top heavy is an even bigger challenge. I've never even considered this type of bike but after looking at your video I think I will give it a try. Question... 1. Does this model offer the traditional clutch/shift method as one of the options? 2. Did you add the speakers or was they included with this model? Thanks.
I still have mine as of this date and I never rode the damn thing! Got hurt learning how to ride with a practice bike but had already purchased the bike. Now it's still in the back with 0000 miles on it. The battery is dead but the thing is still new other than that!
+Mario Cosby Excuse me sir I am looking to buy this bike I am rather young but have had a rough life.Been through cancer and chemo so I am pretty weak for my age and the chemo shrank me up abit.would you recommend this bike to someone 5'3 180 pounds and looking to get into riding. This bike will be my first
Mario Cosby Ty sir went to a dealership today I see what you mean about the nit picking for the saddle bags. Sadly I have the mechanical skills of tree so they will be taking an arm and both legs from me
Great review Mario. Let me know if you want to sell. I'm looking now. Anything else to add years later? Thanks for discussing the human side. Love to see audio demo.
Nice review.... but why you had to park it in such a crowded parking lot? That too in front of a parked car. Hence, you couldn't show the left side of the bike at all.
you have a great looking bike, im ready to get rid of my 900 pound vtwin for this very light and nimble bike are the panniers, and windshield honda accessories?
Mario excellent review Thanks for taking the time to do this is there anyway you could post the part numbers for the iso grips, cruise control and foot boards. That would be an incredible help. Hope your still enjoying your bike.
Nice review Mario. Does Kuryakn sell the adapter for those mini boards? I'm looking to buy a set for our CTX 700. Buy the way, it's a great bike, for all the reasons you stated in your review.
love this bike and love Honda for its engines (fun vs. fuel consumption) and dual clutch solution... your custom seat is awesome - please give more details - cost and ordering, thanks!
Nice review, I like your upgrades too, that seat looks super comfy. Have to agree Honda have got the after sales accessory sales all sown up, we got it, you want it, pay up, until it hurts. Still want one but,,,,
Hi ..great review been looking at this bike for a while ,are you in the USA ?they don't sell the dct in canada.....don't know why ?if they do sell them in the US guess I could cross the line and buy a used one .right now I have a burgman scooter and a 650 vstrom. L love both but the vstrom is a little top heavy when stopped, as I'm 71 . ..Keep up the good vlogs...cheers
Hi Mario, thanks for your review. It helps a lot. Also I like how you upgraded it whit accessories. Do you mind telling me where you got it? Like foot pegs, handle grips and seat? Thanks a lot!
Great video! Thanks. Any idea how comfortable this bike would be for a passenger? My wife is about 140 pounds. Looks like a great ride. Like your extras. Been planning on buying a Burgman 650.. Now I'm not so sure after watching your video. I'm definitely going to test ride both. Thanks again!
Good Video. Questions: 1. how easy is it to give up the hand control clutch lever? Most riders use the lever as an integral part of controlling the bike. I am not sure I can give it up? Unfortunately, Honda doesn't sell the manual transmission version with ABS which is a must for me. Any comments? 2. As someone else asked, why did you sell the bike after such a short ownership? You had me sold on the bike and then you sold it which immediately raised a Red Flag for me? Thanks in advance, Phil
Hey Sadie the reason I sold the bike my, local motorcycle store had a yamaha striker 1300 with a lot of upgrades that the were selling for 2000 less and I always like that bike that was my first chose and in one of my favorite colors orange copper could not pass it up if I could afford both bike I would have kept the ctx also I do miss it. As far as the hand control clutch lever it's like riding a regular pedal bike go to your local motorcycle store see if you can demo one check it out
My brother has the same bike that he bought Dec. 2014. Just bought the taller windshield for. How much was the corbin seat for it and where did you find it? I have gotten 70 mpg riding between 50-65 mph, but in town around 55mpg is average. Your bike looks great with all the bags and extra little things you did to it!
Thanks for your video Mario. I have this bike as well; I bought it in the spring. I am having problems with the seat (comfort) and notice you have a Corbin seat on yours. Can you tell me if it raises you up much from the original seat? I can't afford to have too much height added and have heard the Corbin adds about 3" to the height. Thanks for your time. Judi
Hi Mario, nice review. I have an NC700X DCT and road it on many 1000+ mile trips, but it lacks comfort. I'm looking for a good DCT for a pillion on long distances. Have you ridden on your CTX700 with your lady for long trips and if so how well did your bike do, including pillion comfort? thx
HI : I love your video, Thanks Where did you get your windshield? I just bought CTX700T today, I love your windshield, wanted to know where did you get it?
No I did't consider heated grips I'm a fair weather rider, Well I'm 6'1 and 237 and it has alot of get up and go it should be fine as long as both combine are around 350-400 lbs
hi Mario, this model is marked down now at the honda dealers unfortunately the automatic version is not available in Canada which really sucks, could you tell me how tall you are and what size windshield for 6 foot 3inc, is one size lower advisable , thanks again
+Terry Fernets Hi Terry I'm '6.1 I' don't think a lower size will keep the wind off of you the one I have is from cee bradly and that's the tallest they make they do make a shorter sizes. and have you tried ebay? for buying your bike something to think about
Why does it seem like Honda is the only motorcycle graduating its design to the 2020s ? Is this bike automatic (As an option) ? As in cars, I don't want to shift gears, of course there is Rekluse automatic clutch. Thank you Rekluse.
Sadly I am not a rider yet. if it is my plan to change that in the near future. I will say I have a curiosity with the CTX700N DCT. I have a concern about fitting. I'm a some what larger fellow. 280-ish lbs (working on that) 6'-3". Is that a problem I should be thinking about?
+David Osborne For me, the closest I have been to riding is a bicycle. Growing up I wasn't the poster child of health. Now in my mid 30's I have finally gotten control and can say I think I'm am well enough to try motorcycling. I did have the stomach surgery a lot of people talk about getting. I want to say I've been successful in my journey so far (not done yet). Attempting to get my endorsement and riding is in a way my self reward for the work I've put in.
I just bought the 2015 CTX700. I'm 6' tall seems the knees don't fit so well against the tank/fairing. Did getting the Corbin seat help by raising you up some? Did it also move you back some? Handlebar reach still ok? Also curious about the size of windshield and if you get much wind on the helmet. I'm considering a Corbin seat (either standard as you have of the low profile) and the Cee Bailey shield. I would appreciate any insight you have on this!
Hey Karen yes the corbin seat adds 3'' of height as for as the cee bailey shield goes I got tallest one they make for that bike works great some days I ride without my helmet on and no sun glasses no wind on me
New Subscriber. Excellent Review. Very Beautiful ride set-up. Lots of very useful information. Do you know if Honda ever made the CTX 1300 in a Automatic?
Does the seat and the floorboards give you any additional knee and leg room? I am thinking of buying the same bike and I am 6'1" and have a 32" inseam. Does your wife have enough seat room, and does the bike do well two up?
I'm a scooter rider, Honda SH150i do you think I can ride this bike. And do I have to buy all these brackets if I'm only interested in the top box. I hate the backpack thing. Lol. Give me a trunk any day.
jay pth Hey Jay sorry for not getting back too you sooner, the hard bags are honda oe made for that bike and you can find them on ebay for around 400.00 or 500.00 and yes the came with the locks. you have too buy the mounting hardwear for the hard bags also that's around 300.00
Thank you Sir for this vid. I have an offer to buy one just like your for $4200.00. I'm 6'-2" and I was not sure if the seat ht. would be adquate for my size. You sure helped on my decision. Thanks again.
Thanks Mario, One more question, can you see over the Cee Bailey windshield, does it off good wind resistance? I am 6'1" and am 56. I like the way you have it configured. I would do the same things as far as add ons. Do you think the automatic is great? I go to these motorcycle shops and they usually say buy the shift model...I here just the opposite on all the videos.
Mario Cosby Mario, I too enjoyed this video, and have been planning on getting this motorcycle (as an upgrade) for quite some time. Would you mind sharing why you sold it, please? And also, could you provide some information on the grips too? I would like to know if you got the universal, and if so, were they 1" or 7/8"? if not, any info you could provide so I get the right ones is greatly appreciated
Hello Mario, I enjoy the manual shift paddles on my ctx700 but find the auto modes nearly useless, with the following exception... Sport mode seems to work fairly well on hilly back roads. In my opinion, drive mode shifts far too soon at such low rpms the engine just bogs, Sport mode shifts too late at too high rpms, What the hell were these engineers thinking? I always shift in the 2500-3500 rpm range, will stick to manual !! I hope you're having a better experience on yours, nice custom work there!
Hands down the best review I've seen of this bike. I'm glad you took the time to do it. No bells and whistles of background music and highway gopros. Straight to the point, explained DCT and appealed to the right crowd. Good job.

Thank you also .

Great glad you enjoy your bike

Great review! Just one slight correction, the bags are called panniers (like pan ears) not paninis. Pretty sure that's a type of sandwich.
You are right I was hungry when i was shooting that video lol

Thank you Mario. Like the extra's you added. I did add the saddle bags. They were expensive and one of the side panels separated from the case on the top. The dealer replaced the bags and now i'm happy.
Ride is great and comfortable. Regular 87 oct. gas is a huge plus. Use to cost me $22.00 to fill up my road King. $7.00 to fill up the Honda CTX700 ND.
glad I was able to help enjoy your rod
Great review! I'm wanting to purchase as my first motorcycle. I love everything about it... Especially the DCT. I can't wait to get out on the road with this bike.
Thank Tom, your going too love it
This is exactly how I want mine to be. Excellent video with very good narrative.
Just bought a 2014 with 194 miles. I don't think I will ever own a bike a good all around as this one. Riding this thing is like a dream. On the con side I would like more fuel, i get 68 miles to the gallon but I would like another gallon or so. Gets 214miles at this time.
These are the type of reviews I love youtube for. Great Cruiser great review! Thanks
+oliver5976 thank you sir
That's a great Honda bike Mario and you did an excellent custom job. I wish they.would offer this model over here.
Thanks.
Pc Novice a Kawasaki 650s Vulcan would be much better to keep up with bigger faster bikes. On the expressways. !!!
I still have mine as of this date and I never rode the damn thing! Got hurt learning how to ride with a practice bike but had already purchased the bike. Now it's still in the back with 0000 miles on it. The battery is dead but the thing is still new other than that!
yes the corbin seat does add about 3''
+Mario Cosby Excuse me sir I am looking to buy this bike I am rather young but have had a rough life.Been through cancer and chemo so I am pretty weak for my age and the chemo shrank me up abit.would you recommend this bike to someone 5'3 180 pounds and looking to get into riding. This bike will be my first
+DarkAceMaster yes by all means yes
Mario Cosby Ty sir went to a dealership today I see what you mean about the nit picking for the saddle bags. Sadly I have the mechanical skills of tree so they will be taking an arm and both legs from me
Thank you for this video. The bike has had my attention for a while. This is the best review I've seen!
Thanks I glad you enjoyed the review
was about to post the same. watch about 30 reviews and this best one. thanks. about to purchase one considering manual though
Thanks for this review. Its was more informative most. On my way to the dealership now because of this video. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Glad it help
Beautiful Motorcycle man. Looks fantastic. I'm in the market for one this spring. I can't wait to get it. Great add ons and review.
Fantastic video and review, Mario. Really appreciate it. Very, very helpful. I'm planning to get all of the add-ons you got. Thanks again.
Glad I can help thanks
Great review Mario. Let me know if you want to sell. I'm looking now. Anything else to add years later? Thanks for discussing the human side. Love to see audio demo.
thanks for the review. because of you i bought one today. i choose the ctx700e. so far i love it
glad i could be of some help
Thank you for the video. I'm getting mine in September. Exactly like yours.
Great I've been having a blast riding mine I'm out this morning going to work on it
i have a 2015 and love it good review. what brand is the windshield i want to get one and what do the louvers do on windshield thanks.
Hello Mario I just purchased a CTX700 exactly like yours. Can you please tell me the brand of your foot boards and cruise control grip? Thank you
Nice review.... but why you had to park it in such a crowded parking lot? That too in front of a parked car. Hence, you couldn't show the left side of the bike at all.
you have a great looking bike, im ready to get rid of my 900 pound vtwin for this very light and nimble bike are the panniers, and windshield honda accessories?
+Terry Fernets the panniers are honda the windshield is cee bradley
Mario excellent review Thanks for taking the time to do this is there anyway you could post the part numbers for the iso grips, cruise control and foot boards. That would be an incredible help. Hope your still enjoying your bike.
+Joe Thomas Sorry Joe I don't have those numbers
Thanks appreciate the reply
Great review, just the info buyers needed. Still running ok, no problems so far ? How much gas does the tank do?
Hi, please tell me where did you buy such cool tall windshield? Thanks a lot.
Sir, I would like to get my wife involed with me on sharing this bike. Have taken any passenger on it? Any info would be great. Thank you.
I’m riding a scooter so I’m looking for one of these bikes, yours is looking very awesome, nice seat and floor boards,,
Nice review Mario. Does Kuryakn sell the adapter for those mini boards? I'm looking to buy a set for our CTX 700. Buy the way, it's a great bike, for all the reasons you stated in your review.
+Michael Kallelis yes they do, and thank you
love this bike and love Honda for its engines (fun vs. fuel consumption) and dual clutch solution... your custom seat is awesome - please give more details - cost and ordering, thanks!
Marek Wesołowski Hi Marek thanks for the comments the seat is a corbin I thank the seat cost me 300.00 to 350.00
Nice review, I like your upgrades too, that seat looks super comfy.
Thank you, Yes I live in the USA
learning on a 150 cc scooter. thank you for advancing the ball ! don't feel i have to put up with the macho shifting. great input. thx
+navigat361 Ok thank you
Where did you get the corbin seat and windshield? I have a 2015 CTX DCT and a 82 Goldwing Interstate
Hi Mario, thanks for your review. It helps a lot. Also I like how you upgraded it whit accessories. Do you mind telling me where you got it? Like foot pegs, handle grips and seat? Thanks a lot!
Thanks for the reply mario, I should have asked is the top box from Honda they are great looking accessories
+Terry Fernets No aftermarket
Great video! Thanks. Any idea how comfortable this bike would be for a passenger? My wife is about 140 pounds. Looks like a great ride. Like your extras. Been planning on buying a Burgman 650.. Now I'm not so sure after watching your video. I'm definitely going to test ride both. Thanks again!
Good Video. Questions:
1. how easy is it to give up the hand control clutch lever? Most riders use the lever as an integral part of controlling the bike. I am not sure I can give it up? Unfortunately, Honda doesn't sell the manual transmission version with ABS which is a must for me. Any comments?
2. As someone else asked, why did you sell the bike after such a short ownership? You had me sold on the bike and then you sold it which immediately raised a Red Flag for me?
Thanks in advance,
Phil
Hey Sadie the reason I sold the bike my, local motorcycle store had a yamaha striker 1300 with a lot of upgrades that the were selling for 2000 less and I always like that bike that was my first chose and in one of my favorite colors orange copper could not pass it up if I could afford both bike I would have kept the ctx also I do miss it. As far as the hand control
clutch lever it's like riding a regular pedal bike go to your local motorcycle store see if you can demo one check it out
My brother has the same bike that he bought Dec. 2014. Just bought the taller windshield for. How much was the corbin seat for it and where did you find it? I have gotten 70 mpg riding between 50-65 mph, but in town around 55mpg is average. Your bike looks great with all the bags and extra little things you did to it!
Thank you, the seat is from corbin I think I paid between 300.00 & 400.00
Excellent. Thanks for the review!!!
Thank you for watching
Thanks for your video Mario. I have this bike as well; I bought it in the spring. I am having problems with the seat (comfort) and notice you have a Corbin seat on yours. Can you tell me if it raises you up much from the original seat? I can't afford to have too much height added and have heard the Corbin adds about 3" to the height. Thanks for your time. Judi
Hi Mario, nice review. I have an NC700X DCT and road it on many 1000+ mile trips, but it lacks comfort. I'm looking for a good DCT for a pillion on long distances. Have you ridden on your CTX700 with your lady for long trips and if so how well did your bike do, including pillion comfort? thx
HI :
I love your video, Thanks
Where did you get your windshield? I just bought CTX700T today, I love your windshield, wanted to know where did you get it?
+Gary Wang Thanks Gray I got the windshield from cee bradly I hope I spell that wright
Thanks for the review and now I am going to test drive to buy. Great review...
It would take me some retraining to learn how to stop with out pulling a clutch in.. just thinking about it feels weird.
But it seems like fun
James Engles It took me about an hour of riding this bike after that I was fine and yes it's fun too ride
Great review man. just a point of order Piniani's are toasted sandwiches.
The storage boxes are Paniers ...
RockRiff888 I war hungry whit I was making this video lol Thanks
Lol... I should of known ...Respect Brother...
Mario Cosby And pannier means bread basket so you weren't too far off!
This has turned out to be a great bike, you can check out a 2014 I just picked up with only 119 miles on it, thanks.
I like it so mush I got the ctx 1300
Great review, did you consider heated grips? Also, how is it when riding 2 up, is there enough power, and comfort for the passenger?
No I did't consider heated grips I'm a fair weather rider, Well I'm 6'1 and 237 and it has alot of get up and go it should be fine as long as both combine are around 350-400 lbs
hi Mario, this model is marked down now at the honda dealers unfortunately the automatic version is not available in Canada which really sucks, could you tell me how tall you are and what size windshield for 6 foot 3inc, is one size lower advisable , thanks again
+Terry Fernets Hi Terry I'm '6.1 I' don't think a lower size will keep the wind off of you the one I have is from cee bradly
and that's the tallest they make they do make a shorter sizes. and have you tried ebay? for buying your bike something to think about
Great video mate. What is the life span of the clutch on these auto bikes? Would it be less or more than a manuel shift?
sorry no Idear
Why does it seem like Honda is the only motorcycle graduating its design to the 2020s ? Is this bike automatic
(As an option) ?
As in cars, I don't want to shift gears, of course there is Rekluse automatic clutch. Thank you Rekluse.
Yes it comes manual or automatic but I think they only made this model for two years
Sadly I am not a rider yet. if it is my plan to change that in the near future.
+David Osborne That's great David keep up the good work
+David Osborne not at all, I would change out the seat for a corbin seat adds 3" of height
Hey Karen yes the corbin seat adds 3'' of height as for as the cee bailey shield goes I got tallest one they make for that bike works great some days I ride without my helmet on and no sun glasses no wind on me
Mario Cosby Thanks Mario!
New Subscriber. Excellent Review. Very Beautiful ride set-up. Lots of very useful information. Do you know if Honda ever made the CTX 1300 in a Automatic?
Marvi Marv no they did not
is this a good bike to take the motorcyle license test??
Hey Mario.. great review. very informative. can you provide the link to the corbin seat and backrest and the topbox as well.. ride safe and ATGATT ;-)
Go on corbins web sit type in year make and model
Does the seat and the floorboards give you any additional knee and leg room? I am thinking of buying the same bike and I am 6'1" and have a 32" inseam. Does your wife have enough seat room, and does the bike do well two up?
Yes too all that your asking I'm 6'1 also, and I feel great when riding the bike
Thank you for the best review yet .
Your welcome
can you tell us if this bike is confortable for a passenger. Can you ride two with the side cases.
Yes and yes just watch the weight limit
What is the limit?
Paninis are sandwiches. Panniers are hard saddlebags. Good review though. Nice job..
really nice looking bike you put together . great review too
+Ct Pham thank you sir
I am 6'1" is it very comfortable to ride and does the extra length of the seat help legs stretch out better? Back rest really help?
hi Doug yes it's very comfortable to ride I'm 6'1 also, and the corban seat helps alot and the back rest is a life saver
Question.. have you had any trouble with the transmission ? Thank You for you time...
No Trance none to this date
great set up. good info. you sold me on this one and make my decision easy, thanks
Thank you glad I can help
I'm a scooter rider, Honda SH150i do you think I can ride this bike. And do I have to buy all these brackets if I'm only interested in the top box. I hate the backpack thing. Lol. Give me a trunk any day.
yes you can ride this bike and no you don't have too buy all the brackets
Mario Cosby thank you much because of your excellent review I will be purchasing this bike.

what is the rear luggage case? Is the rear rack Honda OEM?
yes the rear rack is honda oe and the luggage is cheep
can you please tell me where/what kind of the mounted luggage you got? are the lock & key included?
jay pth Hey Jay sorry for not getting back too you sooner, the hard bags are honda oe made for that bike and you can find them on ebay for around 400.00 or 500.00 and yes the came with the locks. you have too buy the mounting hardwear
for the hard bags also that's around 300.00
where did you get the backrest?
You may have already said it but how much was your seat with backrest? Thanks
Matthew Read around 350
Mario Cosby thanks. What kind is it again?
Matthew Read corbin
Mario Cosby thanks
I want that iso grip cruise control.
Great video!! Excellent one on one review, thank you.
Thank you Sir for this vid. I have an offer to buy one just like your for $4200.00. I'm 6'-2" and I was not sure if the seat ht. would be adquate for my size. You sure helped on my decision. Thanks again.
What kind of pegs did you buy they look really cool can you give me the web site. Thanks
they are the mini floor boards from kireyacien not sure how too spell that word also you have to buy the mount for the boards
I believe it is spelled: Kuryakyn
What is the weight limit? I'm 330lbs. I'd like to take my wife on some rides as well. Thanks
around 550.00
Thanks- Where did you get that figure?
do u have the part numbers for the mini boards and adapters?
No I don't but there from the honda fury you need to order shims also
THANK YOU
Thanks Mario, One more question, can you see over the Cee Bailey windshield, does it off good wind resistance? I am 6'1" and am 56. I like the way you have it configured. I would do the same things as far as add ons. Do you think the automatic is great? I go to these motorcycle shops and they usually say buy the shift model...I here just the opposite on all the videos.
Doug the automatic is great I love it, and yes you can see over the windshield
This looks great! It would have been great to test ride this bike. And this was a very very good review! :-)
thank you sir
Which part of pa are you from if that is a pa tag I see?
Bethlehem
Mario, do you ever have passengers on that bike? I want my wife to be comfortable on that passenger seat.
Mario, have you sold the ctx?
yes it's gone
Mario Cosby Mario, I too enjoyed this video, and have been planning on getting this motorcycle (as an upgrade) for quite some time. Would you mind sharing why you sold it, please? And also, could you provide some information on the grips too? I would like to know if you got the universal, and if so, were they 1" or 7/8"? if not, any info you could provide so I get the right ones is greatly appreciated
Why do you think women would have a problem with shifting????
Hello Mario, I enjoy the manual shift paddles on my ctx700 but find the auto modes nearly useless, with the following exception...
Sport mode seems to work fairly well on hilly back roads.
In my opinion, drive mode shifts far too soon at such low rpms the engine just bogs,
Sport mode shifts too late at too high rpms,
What the hell were these engineers thinking?
I always shift in the 2500-3500 rpm range, will stick to manual !!
I hope you're having a better experience on yours, nice custom work there!
