Every long-term review I've seen on this bike has been positive. Seems to be a very reliable machine. Picking mine up in a few hours. I got lucky and found one with only 118 miles on it.
Great video! I Really appreciate your honesty and the maintenance records!! I agree, I’ve had 7 Hondas over the years( since 1981) and never experienced a mechanical problem!! They really are impressive machines. Enjoy the ride and stay safe... 👍🏻🏍
Thanks for video. I just purchased CTX700 DCT of same year. I notice when bike shifts into 6th gear the bike vibrations are much more noticeable. I'm having it brought in for inspection, but that is weeks away due to amount of work repair shop has. So I'd thought I would ask you if this is just normal or not.
Mine is a manual and does not vibrate, in fact it's very smooth. I'd imagine it should not vibrate but I've never ridden the DCT version so I wouldn't know for certain.
@lp8981 The V-star 950 Touring comes with a windshield, saddlebags and floorboards, all items i need. I had to install these on the CTX700. The V-star has a belt, no maintenance as I drive 100 miles a day, it gets 40 miles per gallon compared to the CTX's 60 MPG. The ultimate deciding factor was the belt. If I rode much less the chain maintenance would be minimal and I'd have kept the CTX.

Thanks for the video. I have the exact same bike. Good to see other ctx owners are still out there. Ride safe and... stay healthy.
Excellent, thanks for the update. Engine still sounds like new at 60k. +1 on using the Honda GN4.

I am 24 years old getting one this week can't wait.
Seems to be the common motor noise for the ctx models I just bought one love it so far! :) great content
Do they have an upgrade to bring the forward controls back some?

@@marcbee1234 Brought it in and chain was in bad shape. Just got it back and way better ride.
On the fairing there are two screens that seem to be for speakers. Is this correct or are they just for show or for something else?
There were no speakers there, just for looks.
found a '14 700N w/ 5k miles for $4k. Windshield and top box. Should I snag it??
4 hr trip
Great deal, yes!
I like this type of video. Not many people show the service intervals. Seriously considering a 2014 with 10k km on it for $4,600 canadian.
Was wondering how many spark plug changes and was it a pain in the you know what
Never changed plugs and now has 68k miles.
I don't see where you ever changed the air filter. Is this correct?
1:41 it shows 2/24/18 replace air filter 26,546 miles
You mentioned somewhere that the air filter change was a 90 minute job. Did you change it yourself or have a dealer do it?
I did it myself.
Did you add the center stand?
Yes
would you recommend this to someone? what floor boards are those? easy to install?
Great bike highly recommended!
I don't remember the floorboard name brand bought them off ebay and a bit challenging to install.
How's the shifting with the floorboards?
No issue shifting at all with floorboards
No valve adjust supprised no problems
Have you checked, or done a valve adjustment yet?
Never did a valve adjustment, I sold it at 68k miles I didn't want the chain maintenance any longer and bought a 2012 Yamaha V-star 950 belt drive!
@@marcbee1234 how do you like the vstar compared to ct700? Maybe I'd make the same switch!

No problem with people bothering you in the Sears parking lots anymore. Jokers went broke a couple of times now.
Is yours a dct? Debating between ctx and burgman.
Great video. Ty
DCTs don't have a clutch lever.
Great review
Still have it? How many miles are you up to now?
I bought a naked model with 9k miles June 2022 red still have it.
impressive!
Nice!
