I am an old man now, but in the early 70’s when I came back from Vietnam, I bought a sailboat with intentions of playing in the Caribbean for a few years, but in 30 months I had sailed around the world. I had a private pilots license, so I went to flight school to become a corporate pilot. I have been to the Arctic ocean twice once on motorcycle and once in my Land Rover Defender. The last time I went through Moab Utah was in 1998 and it was crazy back then. I have a son that lives in Ouray, CO. And another in Northern Idaho. I live in the Southern Bahamas. But by the 15th of December I will be in Quartzsite AZ. Till March.
This year we used Gaia and TO mostly. With the new/recent updates, especially the full size truck selectable option for wider roads, big help for us as we tow a small camper (we are definitely switching and trying OnX). As I mentioned on another channel...OnX if y'all are listing...a "trailer friendly rating" would be incredibly valuable. There are times we are unsure and avoid certain roads due to fears off narrowness, switchbacks being to tight and backing up not being possible. We mostly travel alone as well. Thanks
Thank you for not being afraid to talk shit on some of these builds. People can think it’s cool all they want, but they’re still useless off road, and “offroad vehicle” is the look they are trying to emulate.
At the beginning of the vid….was that SEMA stains on the lens? I guess what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…..have fun and here’s to the next adventure Shaun.
That girl telling you about her truck did great, she was nervous but pushed through it and was able to communicate what she wanted to in a nice way. Hope she stays safe and does well in her life.
Hopefully you’ll see Matt’s OffRoad Rig. I bet you would say not useless. Love the content and hopefully I’ll am able to get into overland someday. Keep on going

I need more info on that table for my TRMR. My compact table really takes up the most space when I pack up, and it's such a pain. I have to say it, I love what you guys do and I love how you do it. It feels genuine and authentic, cause I know you guys actually do the real thing. I just can't shake the feeling when I see all these ridiculous rigs here and on instagram that "overlanding" (god I hate that word) is turning into the new "Van Life". I used to see it a lot in Western Washington state. People with ridiculous lifts and every bell and whistle hanging off their jeep 40 inch tires with the stupid rims on them, etc. Then I moved to the East side of the state where there is an actual need for rugged off road vehicles. But what's funny is you don't see nearly as many people with the whole Monster Truck style. People have two inch maybe 4 inch lifts with nice tires and some mods made to stuff 38s in there, get some good axles, good lockers, good winch and recovery tools and a radio and you are set for anything. It's about getting shit done not looking a certain way. It kind of feels like part of the Van Life and RV crowd are turning to Overlanding and basically making it just like a day at the country club.

Kinda looked like just that section had that. The pillars were smooth. My 2023 Chevy HD is like that on the rocker panels. I have no idea what it is, but does kinda look like bed lining that was painted over. I assume it’s some type of additional protection for an area prone to damage. Could be the same thing here.

Problem with the jet ski thing , it will not support the weight of modern jet skis well. Also depending on the width of the jet ski used , a whole lotta boat ramps you can not use cause they are not wide enough. You are adding like 3 feet or more extra width. With todays world of backup cameras , if you can not back up a short trailer without an issue , you do not need to own a short trailer. This idea would be more useful as an overland camping cook station. Which is already done. Probably by the same company. You also do not want to get your vehicle tires close to the waterline , if the tide goes out and you back down over some exposed algae , you risk your whole rig sliding into the water.
