In 1956 seven of us guys from our 4H club went Death Valley for a week, during Christmas break, with 3 of our club leaders. We hiked down to the bottom of Ubehebe's crater. There was nothing around it at that time. It was quite easy to hike down. Some of us ran down but had to stop because we started to loose control of our speed. Our leaders were in their 30's. It was quite a struggle for them to climb back up. We kids struggled too but not like them. One too 4 hours to get back up.
Thank you for sharing 🥾🥾
Absolutely! Thank you so much for watching and supporting!
Tough walk but well worth it. Walked (and slid) down and gasped on the way back up, about 30 years ago (i.e., just yesterday, it seems) with my wife. We loved not only the views but also the few others we met there. One--a young guy who was really into playing with a boomerang, tossing and catching the circular tracks in that great location. Also fun because you are not allowed to climb down into Arizona's Meteor Crater (Barringer crater), so this fulfilled that longing. You meet some great people there too, some athletic, but a few dreamy types waiting for the desert winds to start blowing as the sun goes down.
Amazing
Amazing! Thank you for yet another great video
Was a tough hike out of there! Thank YOU for all of your continued support!
So cool to be in a young active volcano in death valley.
i went here about a year ago and saw this place. Much more massive than one could capture with a camera. didn’t go down because i’m definitely not in the best shape lol, so seeing yall go down was helpful!
I thought I was gonna die climbing back out! Every step you slide back half a step on the lose rock! Plus we went in August and missed the hottest day ever recorded my two days. Hit 128 degrees that day! Brutal but such a good memory! Thank you for watching and supporting!
Yeah ! Again a video fascinating ! Thank you
Thank you! This particular hike really kicked our butts! It was so hot 🥵 Thank you!!!
This is really good. I think the hike up made the piece.
It was a brutal climb and so hot!!! Glad you enjoyed this one brother! Thank you 🙏
That was cool. Sub'd.
I climbed out of this crater a few years ago but not up the trail, I followed along the groves on the steep cliff side as a sort of challenge for myself. I do not recommend it lots of loose dirt. Towards the top its only steep gravel and lost my footing a handful of times, I could’ve easily lost my life that day
It may not look it from the top but Ubehebe Crater is an incredibly challenging climb back out from the bottom especially in the heat! We did this in August! Lol
Going down is easy. Going back up not so much. lol
One of the most grueling hikes I’ve ever done. Thanks for your support!
It's rare that I ever see young people hike to the bottom, most of the time it's us older 50 plus on up crowd to hike in.
Well I’m several years past 40 so not quite as young as you might be thinking…was a tough hike with the heat. And I have many to compare it to. Really glad I went down to the bottom though for sure.
