Wow that looks brutal! But what an accomplishment, and so great that you shared it with your viewers. It’s so interesting that one part looks so lunar and the other has such different colors and texture.
10:26 - had me rolling with laughter! (And honestly I thought the same - he has to go back and retrieve! He’s nuts) I’m glad you’re okay. Thanks for taking one for the team to share the crater with us!
It adds a whole different perspective to it once down there, right? But yeah, climbing up sometimes feels like one step forward, two steps back. Thanks for watching!
I had ignorantly thought the crater was created from a meteorite impact, actually a volcanic eruption. Thanks for taking us all on this journey. My 62 year-old arthritic knees would never make it!
Hey Glenn, I was thinking hiking poles or even ski poles with points to give you more stability in terrain like that. Quite an accomplishment, great job.
I'm glad you made it out of that awesome crater in one piece. Those were some otherworldly land formations. I, too, hike in Columbia boots. Vitesse, to be specific. I have three pair. I occasionally look around and see if I can find anything better but keep coming back to the same thing. Love the mid outdry pull-on style the most since I can avoid laces with those.
Ehhh yeah I'd just have stayed up at the top. Going down would still be tough for me & going back up would take me forever. Where's the guy from the sand dunes renting snow boards for a fast way down. Thanks so much for doing this for us. When are you going to get a rc car or drone to come back to you instead of having to walk back & get the camera gear? Wonder if some of those round rocks have crystals in them like are found at other volcanoes. Wonder if Ubehebe means man who goes to bottom have sore legs & ass for days. Thanks again for doing this for us Glen.
Haha! Glad he does it too. 😄 Me? I'd want to just grab a piece of cardboard, sit down and slide down. LOL. A drone would have been AMAZING there but as it is in a national park, they'd probably take issue with that sadly. Thanks for watching and happy holidays! 😊
Pictures don’t do Death Valley justice. I went a few months ago & was in awe of the size & scape of it all. I didn’t get a chance to get up to Ubehebe. It was so far away from the other main tourist spots. It’s on my list for things to do on my next trip though!
It is a HUGE park. Despite two visits we still have more we haven't made it to like Eureka Dunes and the Racetrack. Slowly getting there to seeing the whole park. 😅
@@CactusAtlas yup. i missed out on those as well. i did dante's, mesquite flats, zabriskie, 20 mule team and that big strip of stuff south of furnace creek.

Agree! You've got that black volcanic type of rock alongside the very desert colored rock. It's truly unique!

Anytime! Glad you enjoyed it. 😊
That's a really cool hike. Its always too bad we can do the uphill first!
Yeah, kind of the same problem with the Grand Canyon. "So easy! Just head on down! *looks up* "Ohhhhhh.... 😩" Lol
Love seeing these hikes - Death Valley is on my bucket list for sure. Thanks for giving be a glimpse to tide me over until I can get there!
Thanks for watching!
Great job Glenn, this episode is deffinatly a favorite. 🤠💥 👋
Thanks! It certainly was a challenge getting down and up the crater. Wouldn't look it but quite the challenge. 😅
Awesome video! Very informative and funny!
Thanks so much! Glad that we could entertain. 😄
I did that hike the other day. Very tough to climb back, but really awesome to see the crater all the way down.

No problem! Happy to take you along. 😄
That is an incredible crater! I haven’t heard of this! You are brave to hike into that one!! Merry Christmas to you guys!! 🎅
Merrry Christmas to you too! Hopefully 2022 brings more views for all of us!!!
That was quite the climb out 😬 but you made it 👏👍
Barely! 🤣

The likely would, however, could be cumbersome while carrying equipment as a camera in one hand unfortunately. 🫤

I'm glad he made it back too. It was a bit worrying even editing the footage after he came home. 🤣
@@CactusAtlas Some of those drop-offs were REALLY steep, especially considering the loose footing.

Thanks again for all you went through to bring us this vid @@CactusAtlas . Hope you were able to get all the cat litter out of your shoes.
Incredible Glenn!
Thanks for watching our video. Much appreciated. 😊
Thanks for sharing the video. I had only 5 hours to spend there and couldn't make it out to the crater
Sorry to hear that. Death Valley is one of those places that you have to really plan for as driving to and from places eats up a lot of time. 😅
Hii bro i am from turkey 🇹🇷 i ilke your videos . Good job ! Marry christmas 🖤
So did hiking UBEHEB give you the HEBE GEBES? :D
Undeniably yes.
I did this hike, and 30+ years later I'm still sore!!!🙃
😅 It is deceptively more difficult than it appears. One step forward, half a step back.

Did this when I was in my forties. Am 83 now probably couldn`t do it.
It's deceptively not easy. Much like climbing sand dunes. 🥵
This was comedic lol
One has to have a laugh sometimes. 😅
