Hey devin I have a neon srt4 and the motor is a similar platform and set up to a 4g63 and the people who run tubular manifolds in the srt4 community usually weld a bracket or something to the manifolds to help support the weight because they seem to have a tendency to crack on high hp builds or high compression builds just food for thought this is my first tubular set up on a car but figured I would share what I have learned my car is going to run a twin scroll tubular manifold with a 6266 with the t51r mod and we plan to have a tune for both 93 and e85 and we have been throwing around the idea of e90 ignite
As much as the teething problems probably annoy you, I love seeing it. It's so raw and shows the wins and the setbacks you get building cars. So many friends I know get frustrated over the issues that arrive but your positive attitude shows the difference between a hobby and a passion
IIRC you custom built your downpipe and it didn't have a flex joint anywhere on it. The factory has that donut spring thing but thats deleted with this kit. With the way the engine rocks fore/aft you need that otherwise it will just keep breaking "weak links" like that turbo flange.

Definitely broke the manifold due to the weight of that precision turbo those are some beefy units, Definitely need to weld in some kind of support for that turbo otherwise the manifold will keep cracking in that exact spot, I'd even add in some kind of flex joint further down the exhaust to give it some flex room when you go over bumps. This car is incredible, not many people do an Evo build this thoroughly keep it up man 🤘🏻
Looks just like my ams manifold. The kit came with a brace that bolts to the hotside and the block to support he weight of the turbo. It prevents cracking like that.

The knock sensor, if anything like DSM is shielded in a ground wire to help with electrical interference. Id double check and make sure its grounded okay. Hair spray should stop the intercooler piping from blowing off too.

With all of that damage to the manifold I would probably just opt for a new on With a brand I know I could trust. That FRS looks sick and I'm not even an FRS fan. Nice ride Dev for sure.
Wonder if that's a result of your downpipe being misaligned from the v band welding job. If I remember correctly it was a tad short an very close to your subframe and it's pitching on your turbo instead of exhaust rubbers when you shift. Obviously turbo won't move so the manifold turbo flange I'd taking the force. If it happens again after the weld job that's where I'd start.
Would it not be worth fitting a engine torque damper to help restrain the engine flex? That sort of pull would make the engine move over an 1" even with uprated engine mounts. Could be an option 👍🍻🇬🇧🇺🇲
Mighty Car Mods channel has a blue EVO build, their mani was broke too, they said it was due to the weight of the turbo hangning on the mani with no support, might be an idea to make a brace / support for it?!
Just swapped to vibrant HD clamps on mine don’t want to deal with popping pipes off 28 psi on pump and 38 on e85 with dual hanger and Id 2000cc injectors
Your abs...use a scan tool with abs reset functions..and sets all general suspension parameters...if this don't do it the fix...then the and unit will have to be tested to board level...or go try a exchange abs unit same model number...
Devin, a good trick I use is hairspray inside the couplers, its sticky and the intercooler pipes never pop off again.

If the intercooler piping blows off again spray some hairspray on the pipe it works like a charm

Use hairspray and some constant torque clamps. You can get the clamps through semi truck service centers they are usually velvac brand.
The FRS is the car that brought me to your channel back when you had the kit tapped to the car.

That manifold broke because of the turbo weight. Build yourself a bracket for the turbo on the block, to sustain the whole Turbo Weight 💪
