The System is an American synthpop duo consisting of vocalist/guitarist Mic Murphy and seasoned session keyboardist David Frank. The band was founded in 1982 in New York and backed up by Paul Pesco on electric guitar and Kris Khellow - keyboards, synthesizers. Sometimes the group is referred to as an "emotio-electro" band because of their hi-tech, synthesizer-driven sound mated to passionate vocals and sensitive lyrics. - Видеоклипы

80s forever 👍🇬🇷
Always!! Introduced my children to this song and they like it so much!
me!!!!!!
Thank God that I grew up in a time when jams like this use to drop on the regular.
We all took it for granted. It truly was a Golden Age.
This is a 40 year old track, 40!!!!
Still timeless.
Put some respect on it!!
Still a CLASSIC in 2024!!
Thank you ❤❤❤
I wish that they would have had more commercial success as a group.
*Got damned right...*
yes no matter what year ok troll
You are so True
The 80s was the coolest
This song will always be in my system
No foreals
Ive always love this tune from the first time I heard it in the '80s.
Amen bro 🙏🏿💯💯💯
WELL PLAYED
Truss 2024
This is one of the most underrated groups. I never could get enough of this song.
+LayLay Russell Underrated is what's up... mainstream is children's hour! Who needs it, stick to underrated baby... you got it right! Never let the masses tell you what you dig and don't, feel me?
+LayLay Russell I know what you mean. Mic Murphy is one of the few singers that can convey such conviction when he sings without being a balladeer. He knows where to put emphasis. He did the same thing on "Midnight Special" and "Don't Disturb This Groove". He and David Frank are a duo that truly complimented one another. Truly one of my all time favorite songs. Period!!!!!
Word! ...agree 1000%
Need to be on unsung
amysorel12 You're right!
After 34 years this song is still in my system !
MINE TOO 💯💯💯
I’m 34. I love the system...

Age is just a number as long as you're in the system! ;-)
I'll be 41 next month & this song still in my system
This song is so pure, respectful and innocent.
❤
Facts
The System is such an underrated group, Their style and music was unique and still lives till today.
Glad you like it!
Facts
Great work
@@thesystem3455 It was so good that even the great Robert Palmer covered this song and he did so brilliantly.
The music industry is so cut throat, and executives decide who they want regardless of the talent of others who deserve more recognition. It's a shame that certain talents like Murphy and Frank's are underrated. They deserved more attention, in my humble opinion.
Bring the 80s back. Not even todays music can beat this 80s songs
Facts
I'm 6023 years old and I still grove to this ,
nut
The System had their own sound. One of my favorite jams. Bring it!!!
😎
I don't know about that. Sounds like Ready 4 The World+ Jermaine Jackson with Alexander O' Neil's production
Or maybe Stevie Wonder producing it
@@elijahstraight402 The System's "You Are in My System" came out in 1983, two years before Ready For The World made their debut album. Also, The System's sound (electro and techno music-influenced pop/soul) sounded nothing like Prince's Minneapolis Sound (which RFTW imitated).
Right on! 🎸🎧🎶
37 years later and this song still sounds great...love this song😊😊😊😊😊
Shit, it's been how long?
This band was sadly highly underrated, a super tight duo with David Franks funky keyboards and production set along with Mic Murphy's great vocals. .
Oh YES!!!
Miss these musical days!! The best! Thank you System for your talent!😃
This was a top 10 in the R&B chart in 1983 and Dont Disturb this Groove No4 in 1987 amongst other hits so I wouldnt say they were underrated in those circles, that was quite an achievement back then as the standard was very high unlike today. Most black artists and music of that genre and era was underrated and still is.

Wouldn’t say they were very underrated, who said they were??? Iconic Dunk group hats stood the test of time, Club classics, Pop classics & tracks in TV & films.
Harlem week... 1983.. Saw them do this live. It was Fantastic! 138th street and Lenox was blocked off💖💖💖💖
True indeed still listening in 2024. I remember when I use to work in SoHo New York and I would see the lead singer of group often. He was cool as fan. After realizing I worked in the area he would acknowledge me. He was a genuine person.
that's so cool ❤
2023 got this 50 year old feeling herself early on a Sunday morning lol, Happy New Year everyone
its not 50 yet
This Beat is So Sick!!!! 1980's are the Best

Been listening to this jam since the 80s
Man I miss the 80's.
The first time I heard this song was the Robert Palmer cover. I was in the army and I heard a guy playing it on a "boom box" and said - hey "Robert Palmer" and he said no "The System". We argued about it for a bit as young guys do but he convinced me and I'm so glad he did - this is a classic.
This jam is still in my system, and has been since 1983 ✊
You and me both, love and. Wishes
Thank you Cynthia, love and wishes to you as well 💋
THIS WAS THE ERA OF EXCELLENT MUSIC AND TALENTED MUSICIANS DIDN'T HAVE TO SAY A LOT UNBELIEVABLE
Yeah, the good old days, how I wish I could relive them.
This song brings back so many memories and it's still nice to listen to up lift your spirits.
I still groove off this. A must have 😊

They should be in the music Hall of Fame, way ahead of their time, music still relevant
A classic never dies 🙌
The mechanics. Bay Area
@@kasim0wens685 Was David from the Bay Area? I didn't know. I do know that Mic was from (started out in) Jamaica, Queens.
This track is still 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💥
Mic's voice is so pure and has stood the test of time. He sounds the same today.

They were ahead of their time. This song is a classic. So different and fresh.
No matter how many years have gone by…some songs still hit different. ….never gets old❤️

I will never get tired of this song. I still have the 12" LP.

This is it, it gets know better than this
One of the best songs ever made, it's tirelessly classic.
truly a great sound!!
I love this song. My dear close friend sang this to me once. I didn't even know he could sing. I can't hear him sing it anymore. He left this earthly home 5 years ago. His bday was on June 14th. 😢❤
Timeless Masterpiece
The System had two big hits in the 1980's "Your in my System" and "Don't Distrub This Groove".
And I loved both of them.
I feel like "This is for you" charted high too. I could be wrong but I heard it a lot as a kid.
@@shuaduah Check Out "I Can Make You Feel Good" and they actually did the theme song for Eddie Murphy's first Coming To America.
Their first single that came out in the summer of 1982 called "It's Passion" was a popular song also.
Promise's can break was good too and this is for you also

This song brings back so many memories. I was a kid born in 1977 but I remembered family members dancing at get togethers back in the day. Music was really music then. 👍

Timeless music....
Talk about a blast from the past. I swear on everything, no other generation had better music than the 80s. Everytime I listen to an 80s song, it's an instant flashback of my childhood growing up in the 80s.
The best songs were in the 70s.
@lj3musicjulien855 80s was an upgrade from the 70s had great music but even musicians evolved from the 70s to the 80s.
Damn... Where is this group ?? "Day by Day and Night by Night" I'm listening... STILL !!
This white guy in the group is under rated he was a beast at producing!
David Frank
taylor4660 he play all instrument parts are synthesizers like oberheim moog ppg wave dmx
Yes he was but you might find some smidges of James D-train Williams in the production. Just listen to it
E. Geno Speight
Wow. D-Train member Hubert Eaves III was a beast on the keyboards and production too.
he had soul
Sounds so clean! Crisp snare and perfect hats. This song is such a classic. Bassline is a monster! Love it! ...J
Sure u right my brother, good ear!!
Got reverbs gated on drums sounds
This is the tightest song that ever existed even over KraftWerk "Numbers" and i'm still a musician it gives me chills to this day! It gave my girlfriends chills too when i "rocked their turkeys".
came from oberheim dmx Drum machine
Frank's layering and orchestration kills it. I learned the importance of note quantification from the drum track on this song. I could not for the life of me at first figure out how he was doing tight ass roll on the hi-hat. Then I pumped it up to 32 notes per and like magic I did it. I did that on a Yamaha DX-11 and I still have the data files from that moment today.
I could also talk all day about Mic's clean AF tenor. My god! The man's voice is flawless. I don't think I ever heard him move into falsetto even once in all the music he's sang to. Just pure tenor.
Love these guys!
Bumpin this wit my 19 year old! He like “ this is dope AF”. Good music unites!!!
This was the music back in the 80s that was pushing boundaries on what hit records could sound like.
Song is life dancing in NYC night clubs to this
Absolutely agree with you.

Disco beat - not so funky
@@socrates1818 I beg to differ, the beat perfectly suits the bass parts and the whole joint is very funky IMHO.
Who's still listening to this song 🎵 🤔 and I'm still listening and this is 2022, this just goes to show great music is never out of style. These were never given enough credit for their unique sound.
I don't know why people are calling this an under rated group. It was very popular on the R&B charts!

Remember when this jam came out, all I heard was my uncle singing that chorus. :-D RIP Ray! LOVE the bass and guitar playing with each other in that chorus.

I was born in the 60's which was perfect for me. I always loved good music and as a young adult always went to clubs and they were on fire fr in the 80's. I would shave a year off my life to experience the 80's again. I was so excited to party back then. Rnb and house music was all the rage. It was sizzling hot in the clubs and at concerts too. It was a privilege for me to be able to experience a great era in music. There is no other era better than the 80's.
What a vibe this song is 🔥

A GET UP AND DANCE CLASSIC THAT STILL WORKS NOW.YEAH THIS HERE IS A CLASSIC.
I'm surprised that these guys didn't put out more hits. This tune is outstanding. Can't stop listening to it. It takes me back to a wonderful time in my life.
Mike R they produced a lot more, Howard Johnson, Stephanie mills etc...
They put out the song "Don't Disturb This Groove", which was/is really popular.
Mike R Don't Disturb this Groove
They did produce several albums between 7 to 10. But... to be honest they recycled the same beats over and over on different songs. I think that's what made them 2 hit wonders. They should have reached out more with different beats.
Mike R they made like 6 albums. Do some research!!!
Back in the days we had a variety of music that was still pure.
The game changer when this came out with the programmed drum machine sound and synth sounds. That distinctive tom tom drum roll was made into a thing later by Jam & Lewis for Cheryl Lynn’s “Encore”.
It’s a timeless classic!
Exactly why I listen to "Encore," and can never sit down. My weekly back pain can attest to that.
I love facts like this . Thank you 🙏🏽 . This song is amazing.
