The System is an American synthpop duo consisting of vocalist/guitarist Mic Murphy and seasoned session keyboardist David Frank. The band was founded in 1982 in New York and backed up by Paul Pesco on electric guitar and Kris Khellow - keyboards, synthesizers. Sometimes the group is referred to as an "emotio-electro" band because of their hi-tech, synthesizer-driven sound mated to passionate vocals and sensitive lyrics.

Believe me, they got their more of their fair share of radio air play with this song and more than their fair share of video & radio air play with "Don't disturb this groove." They were a staple of radio air waves during their time. They're still played often on SiriusXM The Groove

David Frank and Mic Murphy were masters of electro-funk. Incredibly talented duo. This was one of my favourite joints of 1985. And here I am slamming it in September,2022. Love it.

Out of all of the hit and miss hacks of the '80s, this duo stood head and shoulders above many of them.
From musical arrangement and just plain overall musicianship to vocals and how TIGHT the band played enhanced by Mic's emotional vocal stylings, they were SEVERELY underrated and dismissed.
So happy to have FINALLY found this tune and added it proudly to my collection.

I can't tell you how much I loved this song while stationed as a Navy sailor in Florida in the 80's. Each time I hear this song it takes me back to that time. God...If I could just hit rewind! Cheers!

I'll always have my dad to thank for knowing The System I remember hearing Passion when I was barely in Kindergarten, I was a very observant kid aware of my environment and all the different sounds and synths incorporated in their music as well as a large chunk of the 80's, it was always mesmerizing to me, a pleasure for the ears.
Just heard this song today on XM radio channel 50, I haven’t heard it in years downloaded it immediately, I absolutely loved The System !!

God tier synth programming from Dave Frank. The System were such an important band in the evolution of electro and boogie into house.
these guys and jam/lewis were monsters on synth bass. and the complex drum programming is still mind blowing.

I love the System! I bought this album on vinyl back in 1985 and been hooked ever since. Music couldn't be finer and funky that that. They were really one of a kind as a R&B group. Should had been much, much bigger.
They weren't bigger because there was more then enough talent to go around back in the 80's

If all Mic Murphy and David Frank ever did with their lives was create this one song, that would be more than enough. One of the greatest records EVER, IMO. (BTW, they did much, much more than this song: "Promises Can Break", "It's Passion", "You Are In My System", "This Is My Night" for Chaka...)
