Ф.Мендельсон. Сюита из музыки к комедии В.Шекспира «Сон в летнюю ночь». Увертюра - Видеоклипы
Love this super minimalist conductor giving the piece such a soft vibe, and such a great contrast to how expressive his face is too. Brilliant performance.
Never seen such a minimalist conductor before. Remarkable.
Indeed - you don't need to flail your arms like a windmill to indicate tempo and dynamics. I wish some conductors would realise that.
And you could see how much he was enjoying the performance. Brilliant.

I agree. Compare this style to the bombast of Leonard Bernstein jumping up and down, shaking his head and flailing arms.
Vicissitudes are the lot of man
How mutable is the world !
I'm just intoxicated with Mendelssohn's masterpiece ,
The season of the blooming cherry blossoms has come again in Japan
I am watching the cherry blossoms in full bloom while listening to this incomparable performance .

Long living Maestro Michail Jurowski. The finest conductor. Beautiful Russian Symphony Orchestra. Extraordinary Performers. BRAVO and THANK YOU!
He died in 2022. His two sons are on the conducting trade.
I remember being in this play and this was my favorite song in it.
this is so amazing. it like, almost puts you into a trance.
3:07 - great writing! I love how the drops of a ninth convey the hee-haw of an ass braying, which is Mendelssohn's way of representing Bottom wearing the ass's head.
Просто прекрасно!!!!
Thank you, Ling Ling!
i see you are a fellow ling ling wannabe
Magnífica orquesta y la sonoridad
medicine for the soul
Matteo Cino, that's exactly what I say.to me all classical music is a medicine.
I was privileged to grow up with it being raised in Europe to artistic parents.
And BTW, I love Mendelssohn and the ballet of the Midsummer night dream and other works, piano, violin concertoes.
Excelente :D
