Great to see you back in harness Ron. You probably don't remember but a thousand years ago you led a group of radio people up to the High Country to test some 4WD vehicles. Murray Nicoll, Lee Simon, Rob Sitch, Jane Kennedy, Jim Murcott and myself and probably a few others. We went from the rear end of Mt Buller to the Bluff Hut for the night. And then drove back via Sheepyard Flat. 17 years ago I bought a farm near Merrijig because of that trip as I was still in awe of what a great part of Australia it is. I often go down to Sheepyard Flat and Frys Hut and sometimes up to the Bluff as they are now in my "backyard"!! Great video as always and keep going on 4 wheels!!

The new Y62s can take on 35" tyres without any mods and additional 2" lift from 'Ontrack' would have given enough clearance.

Loved the 3 part series, lot of nice places, some good info but more would of been better, Also don't understand why you left out Harry Smiths Hut, not much of a detour, after all he was one of the hard nuts of the time who delivered mail to his Best friend Jim Barclay senior. Its no mystery who killed both Jim and Bamford, it was the Robert Klingsporn and brothers in-law Jack Ware. Was Over sleeping with his wife. Most old people who know say bush justice so I would say sleeping with another mans wife as Barclay was a bit of a ladies man, hence he brought a revolver as he feared for his life prior to been killed. I say Bamford knew so the boys went up to Mt Howitt to keep him silenced.
Only other ones that fit the bill are the 2 Beverage brother who were duffing their cattle as it shared the same initials but that's not bush justice, that's how Bamford body was stuck in under the log took 2 men. Harry told the police they would find him up there that's why people think Harry shot Bamford for revenge on what he did to his best friend, what I believe Harry went looking for Bamford and found him already dead, Harry probably knew he would look like a suspect hence he said he had a dream to the police, Harry was a brilliant bushman and he knows the place very well that's why he headed to Mt Howitt.
Another reason I say Klingsporns, Sometime in the late 1970s Mortimer interviewed Jim Barclay Junior for his history of Wonnangatta Station. Barclay's enigmatic comment on the murders was; " It was all a long time ago and both the murderers are long since dead. I can't see that anything can be gained now, it's all best forgotten." But he did say the names as mentioned which he would of got from Harry.
So involved was the Klingsporns as if it was bush justice it must of being something what Barclay did, if John was shot to be silenced then they would of seen that as bush justice as everyone thought he strangled his wife to death at black snake creek but they could not prove he did it. Barclay was a bad boy and slept with the wrong lady... No more Mystery, Harry wanted the cops to reopen the case he wanted Barclay murder brought to justice, so he knew it wasn't John he knew who did it but was to scared to say, that's why it was never solved and they just left it as bush justice. They say they want to keep their family alive today untarnished as it was bush justice but was it !!! I've herd before reading the article that it was them but now this shotgun 100 years later was found underground on Beverage property so was that the gun that shot Barclay, it was one of them 2 family names. If only they found the stolen revolver and Barclay suit and razor, the 15 torn out blank cheques, but been broke and cattle not healthy and that the Beverages some how became rich one does think it was them. So it wasn't bush justice if that's the case and the Beverages wealth all started from cattle stealing.
