It’s think it’s important to note that a lot of the songs on reputation are also written through the eyes of the media. The media says a lot of things about her, they’re not necessarily true but they directly affect her reputation. She holds too many grudges, she dates too many men, she plays with hearts, she’s obsessive, she airs too much dirty laundry… So while the songs are about her and her life, she is playing them up to be this crazed love monster that the media thinks she is.
What you saw was the re-recorded 1989, and now she owns the rights to it. The ones she has re-recorded are called Taylor's Versions, she has done 4 and has 2 more to go and then she will own the rights to her music.

Band and backup singers have mostly been with her for a very long time. A few members for all 17/18 years. I think one of her biggest differentiators is that she seems to go full blown method actor with her different genres. Like she's done country, pure pop, pop with a rap/RnB influence, very folksy/indie, you name it. There are a ton of amazing artists out there. There are a lot of singer/songwriters out there. But she's one of the only ones I can think of who changes her sound and style so completely. She seems to really throw herself into the complete character of the tone of the album.

Live--I love Cornelia Street live from Paris. Or Death By a Thousand Cuts also from the Paris show. Just her and a guitar. Very in touch with the song and the crowd.

In addition to all the layers you mentioned (like who is she talking to), Taylor also addressing her reputation on this tour. One of the things people said about her in the press was she gets obsessed and crazy about her boyfriends. So she takes in an insult and returns with a great song saying yup, love makes me crazy. It's kinda tongue in cheek.
She’s been doing this since she was a little girl. I think that has a lot to do with why she’s so comfortable on stage and her band. Most of them have been with her since she was a kid.

Yes do the taylors version deluxe if u do 1989. 4 of the 5 vault tracks really elevate the album, and u can skip bad blood with no feature and replace it with the Kendrick Lamar feature version

No this her band that has been with her since she started. When she left country music she had to let go of a few members because she didn't need all of them anymore.
She is on a league of her own and it would be hard to recommend what to listen to next. She’s done everything.
I think maybe getting to know her history is important before continuing. With the whole Scooter Braun, Kim and Kanye West incident and understanding who the songs maybe about makes a BIG difference.
I would say if you want the more country innocent picture listen to Taylor Swift and Fearless. Those are her high school days and her start to fame.
Speak now, my childhood favorite, is her country/pop transition and her first concert to put theatrics. She has cheesy songs, like Speak Now and mean, but also gut wrenching ones like Last Kiss and Long Live.
Red is a glass case of emotions. From start to end it’s an emotional journey. Yalls already heard ATW but it has lots of other bangers.
1989 is her first escape to New York freedom and adulthood. It’s considered to be the Pop bible with all the hits that came from it. My favorite song is Clean and her vault tracks are *chef’s kiss
Reputation. Wow what can I say about Rep. Rep was robbed of album of the year, is my ride or die, and is one of the most successful tours ever. You’ve seen the best performances but as a whole it’s deeply misunderstood and is expected to be her next re-record.
Lover is her first album she owned completely and was sadly not popular because COVID hit right when she was going to start tour. I’m okay with this album, it’s a bit too pop for me, but her lyrics are on another level.
Folklore/evermore are her pandemic sister albums and I’d say go watch the Long Pong Studio session. Understand there are stories being told and really deep, mature concepts going on. I’d say new people become fans because her songs in these albums are personal yet could be told in so many different perspectives. Many songs connect or explain other songs. Not pop at all, much more indie. You might get emotional with them but there is a reason Folklore did win album of the year.
Last, as of now, is midnights which is her return to pop. The beats hit different with this album and some of the lyrics make ya gasp (would’ve, could’ve, should’ve). Shout out to Marroon cause I love that song and the Eras Vigilante Shit dance!
All in all, I know it’s long, but it’s a journey no one has ever regretted. Enjoy falling in love or at least having deep respect for Taylor and make sure to listen to Taylor’s Version if ya hearing the albums!!!!

We Swifties struggle to keep up with Taylor's total slayage! She's the GOAT!!!. Taylor is her own muse and she's not afraid to follow wherever the spirit leads her. Genres fall at her feet. We're just going to have to accept that Taylor IS her own genre. It's not pop, not Country, not Rock anymore. It's Taylor Music. It's amazing that she can write songs in such a wide variety of styles and we still recognize it as Taylor Music. It's so distinctive. As Liz Rose said "No one but Taylor can write a Taylor Swift song."

Thank you for rolling it back when you stop the video. I was super frustrated with you when you stopped it, because so many reactors don't seem to realize the build they are pausing on is a horrible place to stop the video, then they go ahead and play it and it's ruined for everyone, because the momentum is lost. I had to realize that we all know this song, you don't, and you did pull it back a few seconds, so thank you. This is an amazing performance- the dress was beautiful, the crown was fire, Netflix knew what they were doing, and this was the last concert of the US leg. The editing was great as well. Era's is fire, as well, and she just announced her new album at the Grammy's, and we are expecting RepTV, maybe Tokyo? Maybe not, but that and Debut are surely done, she is just waiting...... The woman never rests. She is raising the GDP of the Superbowl- the advertisers are gearing their ads to the fanbase, and the sellers that are selling merch AT the Superbowl are gearing their merch to her as well. She is putting butts in seats that wouldn't be there otherwise at more than $10,000 a seat, and selling NFL merch, and concessions, and will donate to whatever else, just because she happens to be in Vegas.
