im glued to you channel as i love your workmanship and your ideas, ive got 12 lambrettas from 1957 to 1972 all on the road and scooters just run through my viens, keep up your great work, thanxs gary
My "Slambretta" shirt arrived, Scott, so you know there's at least one out here in the Southern California desert! You are doing such a fine job on this scoot. I'm close to being done hot rodding my Vespa ET2 (it's not NEARLY so much work as you're doing...). I'm hanging with you 'til the bitter end, dude!
@@CobwebGarage Safety Third is MY motto! 🤣 Build is looking good. I was expecting rounded bends on the mudguard extension, more of a smooth curve, but it looks good either way. For getting the paint and filler off panels, get a big propane torch like they use to seal roofing tar. It'll burn all that off in about a minute and then you can clean it up with your wire wheel in another minute. Last year I did an entire smallframe Vespa to bare metal that way in about an hour. 🔥🔥🔥
Scott, that kickstart problem could be really tricky. One possible option is to explore the electric start kits (£££ unfortunately) that are available, and fabricate a bubble over the kickstart shaft.
Yeah, I may need to roll a little more shape into it. Seriously, I could spend several days just on that mudguard to get it really nice. It won't make exciting footage though, so won't film every minute. 😉 Cheers!
I was actually going to recommend Japhands Custom channel (if that’s the Karl your meaning;) he built his own roller and English wheel and it seems to work the trick.
@@kirb943 That's right. His videos go out as Make It Custom. I did put a comment on about him building his own bead roller but that seems to have failed. It's Karl Fisher. He's very good at panel shaping.

Nice work Scott, hope to see the finished scoot in scootering mag.😊
I hope so too!
I've never been a scooterist, but this build has been amazing. Keep it up, I may yet be converted.
Hahah, that's great. ;-) Many thanks for the comment. Cheers!
Same here!

Thumbs up.(air tank looks big!)good vid,thanks.
Thanks. I chose the biggest air tank that would fit in the toolbox. Hopefully it’ll do the job. Cheers
One word: Fab-rication 👌🏼
Hahah, I like it. 😊
Stuff the kickstart. Bump it… proper old school 😂
Hahah, yeah I’ve done a few bump starts over the years. 😂
Looking forward to it Scott 😊
Cheers Iain!
Really taking shape now Scott, was getting nervous when you was grinding the Mudguard on your lap mate 😐😐. Looking great 👍👍
Thanks 👍…and safety third! 😂

Thanks! Yeah, I dread to think what an electric kickstart would cost.
But, I’ve been thinking about a solution, and have an idea…..watch this space. 😉
@@CobwebGaragegood man, look forward to progress.
The build is coming along nicely,is there any way you could extend the kick-start shaft a bit?only a thought. Can't wait for the next one👍
Looking good mate 👌
Thank you! Cheers!
Karl also made his own English Wheel. One of those would help reshape that front panel.

You'll find most after market tools boxes don't fit on series 1 and 2 without a bit of fettling.
Yeah, ain’t that the truth! 😅 cheers!
Great work, how about a folding kickstart ? Wouldn't look original but I had one on a PX back in the 80's or an old LD type kickstart
I’ll certainly look into that idea. Many thanks for the info and comment.
Excellent build. Can I ask what that nibble attachment for your drill is.
Thanks. Do you mean the Milwaukee metal shears?
@ possibly. It’s blue.
These 2nd market parts mostly from East Asia are sadly crap. Best advice to measure and do a dry-build before painting.
It's expensive, but how about going electric start and completely removing the kickstart recess on the panel? (or get used to bump starting!)
Can you not bold a small stopper on the outside of the panel and trim down the plate on the kickstart to suit
Yeah forget that idea I’m forgetting your engine doesn’t stay in the same place 🤦🏻
Foldig kick-start simples
Why are modern scooters called mopeds these days? No pedals?
No gears and 50cc x
