Looks like a great project….it will be fun! …I use a 12 volt Colman “cooler” I can dial in how cool I want it to be right up to it becoming a freezer…no more ice melting issues..water wipe ups, remembering to replace the ice blocks ..works well and I can take it camping..! Always enjoy watching your adventures an creative ingenuity! You go girl!

Hi Alone, great job on the icebox! Using the smaller ice blocks will re-freeze faster too. Just keep an eye on the self-adhesive liner; some bugs are attracted to the glue/adhesive as food,
Hugs for Kenai, and take care!

Wow Alone you did a beautiful job on the icebox. I didn't know that ice made noise how interesting. That would have had me back in the car fast, and looking for Bigfoot or maybe a ghost that sound was kind of eerie.

Wow, the fact that the Yeti with the ice block was freezing you things makes me realize that they are worth the money. I am going to guess that if I used a smaller ice block than you do it wouldn’t freeze my food on a camping trip.
The new icebox looks amazing!! You are so creative! So strange that the ice on the lake makes that noise. Thanks for the video! Take care! 😊❤️

We own three original oak ice boxes. Two have the long side door with wire shelves inside. They both have a metal tray that slides in to the entire bottom to catch any drips. Our smaller one has a top on hinges that lifts up to put your ice block into it. That area is lined with metal. We don’t actually use them but they are complete and could be used. I love to use them for organized storage.❤😊

Sweet! Freeze water and soda bottles, they dont leak like bags of ice just cycle them into freezer as they defrost. Plastic or glass dish to line bottom. 2 years ago my solar system was acting up so I had a neighbor who said he knew how to work on solar systems. Well he freed my system so I have lived without any electricity for 2 years and have no money to replace my solar system. So School of Hard Knocks I've learned to do without electricity or Refrigeration.

Could you add a wire rack/shelf at the top to set the freezer packs on so they don't fall out or touch items?
Also, would placing the "ice box" in the Arctic entry area help to keep it colder? They sell small battery-powered fans for RV refrigerators to help with the cold air circulation.
I hope you can also find a wood cook stove with a reservoir on the side that heats water. Check out Lehmon's.
