I live in a log cabin and had staining on my wall like yours. I took Murphy's oil soap and warm water with a wash cloth and steel wool pad and scrubbed the logs and the staining came off. Thanks for the video.
Hi Alone 👋It’s so good to see you. I’ve been very busy with spring things lol. Getting the garden in, cleaning up after winter and etc 😊 im commenting while I’m watching………
Hello Alone, nice to see you putting the cameras to use. A little advice, when pulling difficult nails out, put a wedge of wood under the head of the hammer 🔨 and it will come out easier. That is some bad flooding. Nice furniture you got, the kitchen sure did a transformation. Nice video, take care
Nice room reflection in your mirror! Your new furniture looks awesome. I can appreciate your sense of lumber value in these older pieces. It must be a satisfying gain to your possessions. I noticed the height of the secretary works perfectly with your previously hung mirror and matches the height of your adjacent kitchen shelves/curtains presently. Nice bonus.
Your home is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your Antique Store purchases. I love Antique Stores. I could spend hours just looking at all the different stuff in these stores. They are full of history. Btw I watched all the ads instead of clicking on the skip button. Thank you for letting us know the importance of watching the commercials. Take Care and stay Safe my Friend. 💖🤗
Great video. Thank you for the mention . Stick with me kid I wont steer ya wrong. BUT. Although a spruce grouse does drum , its more of a flutter. The long drown out drumming is of the Ruffed Grouse . I can not wait to see your trail cam pictures. We are going to get a few for our place for sure. and Gurl you need a proper crowbar at least a 2 footer , maybe 3 for those long overkill nails . Oh and to cover those chips in the veneer (you dont have the pieces for) a black sharpie goes a long way. Cheers
Ha! Too funny Alone! That is exactly what I thought. ‘Sounded like some kind of engine trying to turn over and start the first time I ever heard a Grouse drumming. It was still dark when I had arrived at my deer stand after climbing near the top of the mountain. I was stripping down to remove my wet tee shirt, socks & underwear that were soaked in sweat from the trek up the mountain. So there I was. Standing there bare @$$ naked in the dark, in the woods, temperature below 20 degrees, reaching into my pack for dry underwear & socks when I heard very close to me, that sound. I froze. Trying to figure out just what the hell it was! I knew no vehicle could have made it up the mountain to where I was. After a couple of minutes standing there, shivering in the dark, the noise began again. Then again after that. Finally I had to put some clothes on because I was beginning to shiver like a quaking Aspen. Finally Dressed, I sat down continuing to hear the sound repeated over & over for the next 45 minutes as it began to get daylight. I decided that it had to be some kind of bird responsible for the noise. Later in the morning, I caught a movement out front. A Ruffed Grouse jumped up on a log, puffed up it’s chest, cupping out stretched wings, and began it’s drumming ritual. I felt so stupid for being frozen in fear just a little while earlier in the dark, naked, & cold from this harmless little bird!😂😅😂
Hi Bill! Oh my! That is too funny! Last summer I was so annoyed hearing the sound. And like you, I kept thinking there is no way there is a motor up here. Why? How??? Now that I know what it is, I smile every time I hear it. 😊
Hi I'm new here. Really enjoying your adventures!! I would love to do what you are doing but I just don't have the courage. Stay safe and keep the videos coming! 🙂🙏👍👏
Hi Alone 👋 I know you were thinking about having stone & gravel hauled in for your driveway... but after seeing that stream through your woods, I'm wondering if you could get a crane out there and dig an actual area for water run off? Love the new chandelier and furniture pieces! I'm in fear of the 3 toe animal! Don't want to know what it is! (Sasquatch) 🤣
What an awesome video today! Your home is looking good. Wild about the floods. Here in Alberta it's all about the forest fires. A wild spring, to say the least. Always enjoy your vids, thank you! 👍😎🇨🇦⭐👒💪⚘
Good video. Nice u found out what sound was! Better grouse, than someone sneaking around property. Missed one video, will look up. U & Kenai stay healthy/safe. U r CO connection.
My most favorite thing is crafting around my house. That snow melt is super scary!! We are now coming into El Niño rainy months. So happy to see your place is high and dry. Can't wait to see what you catch on the cams! Good Day!
Having gone through a flood myself just 8 months ago, I feel so very sorry for all those people who are dealing with it up there. Finding new flooring, drywall, insulation etc was somewhat difficult and expensive but it's probably 3 times as much up there! I replaced a few lost items with antique pieces and after some elbow grease and imagination they now look great. I love the pieces you chose and believe you'll have them working &looking great in no time.
I was not expecting that the engine sound would turn out to be a bird's mating call! Nature holds so many surprises, which includes all of that water from the spring melt.
I love how you buy beautiful, older furniture to use as cabinets! Your home is so uniquely YOU! So many younger people don't appreciate the vintage style so hopefully you will continue to find many more treasures!
Im obsessed with this channel! This is my dream and i can watch these videos and see what its like there. I'll probably never get there but i thank you so much for making these videos!
Another awesome video. I am excited for what the trail cams will show. Love the furniture you picked up for storage too. Thank you so much for sharing so much with us. Enjoy the warmer dryer longer days! Take care 💕😊
Great video! The secretary and all your other antique furniture look really fabulous and your cabin. Personally I really love antique furniture and I like it even better when everything is not perfectly matching matchie like new furniture.
That is kinda what my place looks like. My pieces aren't maybe that old but their not new either. I call my style "Early Salvation Army" you know, as opposed to "Shabby Chic" lol 😆 😄
I love the new furniture additions. I think each piece is just perfect for your space. I like older furniture and mirrors also. We've been having many earthquakes lately here and I've been feeling them but just for a few seconds. I can't believe all of that flooding there. That's so unfortunate.
Great choices in your furniture, it suits your home. I bet you cant wait for your son to come back! Those sounds coming off and out of that bird was fascinating, who would have thought?. Great video once again. Stay safe and good blessings.
High prices aren’t only in AK. In NC groceries, medicine everything it takes to live is outrageous. I can’t imagine how bad it is these..I love the new secretary.
Seeing the flooding in other areas you are lucky to only have a small lake. I'm looking forward to see what your trail cams catch. More scenery, thank you. CMQCAA++
You are braver than me living up there by yourself and finding strange tracks, not to mention the dreaded bear tracks on your property. I would be hightailing it for town...except its flooded😞. So sorry for those folks.
The water has receded, and luckily it did not wash the road out. I do wonder how many homes were damaged in the floods, not just in Copper Center and Glennallen, but in other areas of Alaska too. Hope you are doing well. 🙏💛
Watch out Annie that looks like a big foot track 😁......yeh more trail cams needed....🥴 I wish you would tell how much you paid for your new antique piece
Thank you for the Glenn Allen flooding video, I’ve heard about it in the news. Every time I’ve been there it’s been dry and so I had a hard time picturing it in my mind. I look forward to your surveillance, you know trail cameras get me excited. 🎥
Hi Alone 🙋🏻♀️ gorgeous antique pieces they fit in perfectly. I love your mend and make do attitude, I try to be like that also. I’d rather buy an older quality piece then a new modern item that’ll need replacing in a short period of time. The kitchen is looking so warm and welcoming, I can only imagine the sense of achievement and pride you must take each time you finish that next improvement. Each little step makes a difference and I can see the fabulous home you’re creating! Sending love 🌸🌸
Absolutely love your antique store furniture. I can't imagine why you would want something new when those gorgeous antiques are in such good shape! Great find.
Wow big fifference. Looks great. I have a request for maybe some future video if you want. I believe you have a Berkeley water filter. I've been thinking about getting one. Maybe you can critique it one day. Thanks so much. Stay safe. ❤
Wow, is all that flood water in Glennallen coming out of Moose Creek? I suppose the flooding in Copper Center is from the Copper river. Pretty crazy! Glad your property is high and dry, Alone. Yeah, those male grouse drum up a storm trying to attract the ladies. Pretty weird sound and even odder looking! Haha! Have a good week, take care and God bless!
Wow lots of water. Love the 1800’s antique drawers secretary desk piece. It’s beautiful. You have lovely pieces. Hope bears don’t get too close. Thanks Alone. Take care. Brun
That weird engine sound is ruffed grouse, not spruce grouse. One of the best eating birds in Alaska. If you are very slow and quiet you can sneak up close enough to shoot it.
Hi Big T! Who would have ever thought that a bird could make such a curious sound! I received a lot of comments from people who also said that they heard the sound before and did not know what it was. 😉💛
The log wood in the out takes was holding that nail like cement. Love your choice in the antique furniture for your kitchen ware. I want to do the same thing in my kitchen using buffet tables with wheels if I want to move them around, I like drawers to pull out so i can get to what I need. thank you for the video
Best tool me and my dad bought when finishing their basement was a nail pulling tool. made pulling nails so much easier than trying to cut them or get them out with a hammer or even a crowbar.
Alone have you thought about painting the wall where you took the shelves out ! Maybe the color you used on the other side ! It would make your antique piece stand out ! Just a thought! 😊
Love your new furniture! Your home looks great. I've been rewatching some of your old videos lately. That first winter had to have been a little tough but you are better set up there now. My daughter and I are leaving for Virginia Beach tomorrow morning! I can't wait! 😊 Take care, Tiff
Hi Tiff! I hope you had a great time in Virginia Beach! I bet it was so much fun. It's funny that you mentioned the old videos, and the first winter. I definitely learned a lot over the past year, and do feel like the next winter should be even easier. So glad you like the new furniture. It has made the cabin feel more lived in, and less like I have been squatting. 🤣
I live in a log cabin and had staining on my wall like yours. I took Murphy's oil soap and warm water with a wash cloth and steel wool pad and scrubbed the logs and the staining came off. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for sharing your life with us !
Your home is looking so cozy. The scenic views are beautiful. Take care and be safe.
Hi Alone 👋It’s so good to see you. I’ve been very busy with spring things lol. Getting the garden in, cleaning up after winter and etc 😊 im commenting while I’m watching………
Hi Debbie! I completely understand as that is how things are here too! I bet you are so excited to get many things done after winter. 🤗💛
So underground housing isn't a thing there?
💚🌷💚
Hello Alone, nice to see you putting the cameras to use. A little advice, when pulling difficult nails out, put a wedge of wood under the head of the hammer 🔨 and it will come out easier. That is some bad flooding. Nice furniture you got, the kitchen sure did a transformation. Nice video, take care
Dogman has a similar track and I had thought I had heard what sounded like a dogman in your previous audio recordings
Good morning...have a great day... can't wait to see what shows up on the trail cameras.....
I’m curious you spent time talking about energy prices. Have you looked into solar for laptop and freezers ?
i should have NEVER left Ak..
My husband would say it's big foot he is a true believer me no can't wait to see what you have on the camera.
You have a bigfoot on your land
Nice room reflection in your mirror! Your new furniture looks awesome. I can appreciate your sense of lumber value in these older pieces. It must be a satisfying gain to your possessions. A lady and her Double bevel sliding compound miter saw is a beautiful thing!
I love all your new things. !!
If you are going to buy a house, and the road is higher than it, You May Have a Problem...lmao
Nice, it looked that those shelves intended to be there, maybe as a structural support! 😂

IM SO IN LOVE WITH THAT SECRETARY PIECE! ITS GORGEOUS AND FUNCTIONABLE! GREA CHOICE....WHAT A FIND!
me too.
My most favorite thing is crafting around my house. That snow melt is super scary!! We are now coming into El Niño rainy months. So happy to see your place is high and dry. Can't wait to see what you catch on the cams! Good Day!
Your furniture is beautiful and definitely fits your style. Hope things dry up soon for all of you in that area.

Magnificent furniture, Alone! Wow! Those footprint with the two big toes... that is intriguing! 😉
IN LOVE with the furniture you bought!
Grouse drumming.
Love your furniture & the video!
Did you see anything on your security cameras ? 😮 or trail cams? 😂 I was hoping you’d look at the security cameras with us 😬
Another awesome video. I am excited for what the trail cams will show. Love the furniture you picked up for storage too. Thank you so much for sharing so much with us. Enjoy the warmer dryer longer days! Take care 💕😊

That's a grouse looking for a girlfriend..our ruffled grouse do that
The curtains …..that was me too 🙌😉Enjoy 😊
Really enjoyed the video!
I love the new furniture additions. I think each piece is just perfect for your space. I like older furniture and mirrors also.
We've been having many earthquakes lately here and I've been feeling them but just for a few seconds.
I can't believe all of that flooding there. That's so unfortunate.
Hi Alone. The secretary and the chest are great! Now, where are you storing all the things from the shelves, lol. Take care and hugs for Kenai.
Absolutely beautiful pieces of furniture! You did very well and especially if you got them at a discount!
Great choices in your furniture, it suits your home. I bet you cant wait for your son to come back! Those sounds coming off and out of that bird was fascinating, who would have thought?. Great video once again. Stay safe and good blessings.
You are living this old lady’s dream! ❤
High prices aren’t only in AK. In NC groceries, medicine everything it takes to live is outrageous. I can’t imagine how bad it is these..I love the new secretary.
Try a little WD-40 on those drawer locks; it should loosen them up.
Beautiful furniture!!!
Seeing the flooding in other areas you are lucky to only have a small lake. I'm looking forward to see what your trail cams catch. More scenery, thank you. CMQCAA++
Hi Chip! Yes, I do consider myself very fortunate to not have more flooding. It is one of the reasons I bought this property. That and the wildlife. 😉
Good video. Thank you much. Til the next time
For all this talk of roughing it, where do you get your hair hi-lighted?
Thanks for the great video! I saw on the news that there was a large ice jam causing flooding in Alaska. I'm not sure if it is in your area or not.
You are braver than me living up there by yourself and finding strange tracks, not to mention the dreaded bear tracks on your property. I would be hightailing it for town...except its flooded😞. So sorry for those folks.
Oh my goodness. I feel bad for those people in town, I’ll be praying for the water to recede.
The water has receded, and luckily it did not wash the road out. I do wonder how many homes were damaged in the floods, not just in Copper Center and Glennallen, but in other areas of Alaska too. Hope you are doing well. 🙏💛
Your cabin is beautiful. Has a warm look. Beautiful furniture and other additions. May you be well safe warm. Until next time.
You bought a nice dresser and Mail desk. Your kitchen is beyond great! Very warm and inviting.
Watch out Annie that looks like a big foot track
😁......yeh more trail cams needed....🥴
I wish you would tell how much you paid for your new antique piece
Thank you for the Glenn Allen flooding video, I’ve heard about it in the news. Every time I’ve been there it’s been dry and so I had a hard time picturing it in my mind.
I look forward to your surveillance, you know trail cameras get me excited. 🎥
Hi Alone,
I have the exact same table and chairs in my dining room.
I really love watching your videos. Thank you for all of your effort!😊😊😊

Absolutely love your antique store furniture. I can't imagine why you would want something new when those gorgeous antiques are in such good shape! Great find.
Unidentified paw print is from a Florida Moss Man which goes to Alaska to enjoy wintertime. Similar to Santa coming to Florida to enjoy the sun...
The cabin is looking more soft and homey with the improvements you've made so far. I always enjoy your content!
love the secretary!
My style of decorating is vintage eclectic and I love how you are pulling the cabin together. ❤ It looks so warm and cozy 😊
Wow big fifference. Looks great. I have a request for maybe some future video if you want. I believe you have a Berkeley water filter. I've been thinking about getting one. Maybe you can critique it one day. Thanks so much. Stay safe. ❤
Wow your place is looking fab. I love furniture as storage cabinets inside of built ins. I love your taste, it’s very cool. Cheers 🇨🇦🌷
Beautiful piece of furniture! You did a great job covering that wall. 😊
Hi Dianna! Thank you! I love the new pieces and they have helped to make the kitchen feel like it is coming together. 🤗💛
Wow lots of water. Love the 1800’s antique drawers secretary desk piece. It’s beautiful. You have lovely pieces. Hope bears don’t get too close. Thanks Alone. Take care. Brun
What I use between rooms is shower rods and pretty curtains, the hooks for the rod works great.
When you made it look like you were going to build a piece of furniture. 😂 Great video!
Where's your safety glasses??? Cough cough!!
That weird engine sound is ruffed grouse, not spruce grouse. One of the best eating birds in Alaska. If you are very slow and quiet you can sneak up close enough to shoot it.
Miss
Yeah that sound you were hearing got me to investigate back in 94' and yep it was indeed a grouse
Darn tootin tasty they are.
BigT
Hi Big T! Who would have ever thought that a bird could make such a curious sound! I received a lot of comments from people who also said that they heard the sound before and did not know what it was. 😉💛
I like the dresser, fits perfectly in the kitchen. Love the chandelier.
You do a great job with your videos. The scenery is beautiful. Stay safe and thanks for sharing your adventures.
Isn't it funny watching others deal with things is entertaining but when we have to do it ...not so fun...lol.
hi, buy some curtain rods for all your curtains.
Nice. Suits your kitchen
Thanks another good one enjoy your warm season .
Love your videos and the music in them is wonderful!!
Awesome video
Put a piece of wood under your hammer head that gives you more leverage when pulling nails
Loved the video stay safe
Oh my god that secretariat, is absolutely gorgeous xx
Good video keep up the good work and take care me done module😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
The odd track looks like a baby moose track, 2 dew claws in rear, front hoof sliding forward in mud.
Morning Alone! Have a great day!
The log wood in the out takes was holding that nail like cement. Love your choice in the antique furniture for your kitchen ware. I want to do the same thing in my kitchen using buffet tables with wheels if I want to move them around, I like drawers to pull out so i can get to what I need. thank you for the video
Woohoo! Gurl! Doing DIY in a pinny and underskirt. RESPECT 🎉❤
Best tool me and my dad bought when finishing their basement was a nail pulling tool. made pulling nails so much easier than trying to cut them or get them out with a hammer or even a crowbar.
That's a rough year for everyone affected by the flooding. Glad your place didn't get flooded like the poor people in Glenn Allen
Is that your workshop? nice! I hope the water is receding by now.
Alone have you thought about painting the wall where you took the shelves out ! Maybe the color you used on the other side ! It would make your antique piece stand out ! Just a thought! 😊
Love your video!
That flooding is so sad. I’m happy you are safe.
Love your heart and content
Love your new furniture! Your home looks great. I've been rewatching some of your old videos lately. That first winter had to have been a little tough but you are better set up there now.
My daughter and I are leaving for Virginia Beach tomorrow morning! I can't wait! 😊
Take care,
