A valuable learning experience. I know a lot of fans are quite upset right now, but it was a good season and we’ll hopefully come back stronger next year.

I feel for Mavs fans. I was at Game 5 of the 2022 Finals and had to watch GS Warriors celebrating on our home court. The home crowd was already dead and defeated by the end of the 1st quarter

He has had great defensive moments in this playoff run. He is still a human regardless of the God like things he does nightly.

Luka lost the game by being his foul merchant self looking to draw a charge with his feet moving with 5 fouls and four minutes to go. Puka single handedly lost this game for his team with that terrible decision that exposed his poor defensive b ball iq and total lack of experience.

Why take a timeout after a terrible missed from Jrue?
Unlike Boston, the Mavs use the 'continuous three-shot' rule when shots are heavily defended. This, of course, greatly reduces efficiency and leads to frustration, which Luka expresses by complaining about the referees. You can play the game on a wave of emotions when the game is flowing smoothly, like it was at the beginning of the match. But it's a double-edged sword, emotions give energy and take it away just as hard when the game doesn't flow as you want. Luka is used to playing on a wave of emotion, this is what European basketball is based on, especially national basketball, because committed fans are hot throughout the game, and thus add energy to the team's game. Dallas fans are hot only when the game is going smoothly and cool off quickly when the game is down. Learning how to show your skills through composure, and not on a wave of emotion, is a maturity that Boston has and the Mavs lack. Boston is clearly stronger, but that does not mean surrender for the Mavs, just keep fighting from inside not from outside, just like samurai do. Composure is strengthened by defense and finding continuous open threes in the attack is the key for the Mavs in the continuation of the series. Go Mavs 💪

They've been generating open 3s the entire series. PJ/DJJ/green/Kleber/exum cannot shoot over 25%. Almost all are wide open. It's just bonkers they are so bad at their roles.

Look Jason Kidd is a great coach, he knows his shit, but even the best coaches can do dumb shit. He's been trying different lineups and things to try to get an advantage somewhere. It sucks that they gotta lose while doing it but what if he didn't try to fix things and he left the starting 5 in the whole game? They still would've lost. The Celtics aren't going to get blown out of the building. To beat the Celtics you need to shut down their driving lanes or when they do drive, stay disciplined and stay on your man, don't help out on the drive. Let the Celtics players drive and shoot, not pass!! Every one of the Celtics players can shoot the 3 so their never out of a game. Luka saying leave the lineup alone and let us keep playing is his thoughts because Dallas was ahead by 10 or something but he doesn't think of how tired they'd of got, and how the Celtics are going to make a run of their own. The game is based on runs and the Celtics usually get up by 10 or 15 or 20 and then lock down on defense and win easily but tonight they couldn't stop Dallas in the 4th because they weren't executing on offense. Guys were outta position on offense which directly affects playing defense. Bottom line is the Celtics are just to good. Dallas is a great team and they should be proud but the Celtics are just better and they have better depth. If Dallas had better depth this series is way different but anyone not named Kyrie or Luka couldn't hit shit in the first two games. Tonight Washington was on, and Exum played well, but what if they didn't? If they missed all their shots like the first two games Dallas would've got spanked. They need to bring in shooters in the off season. The Celtics top 7 players can all score 30 points or more any night.

Luka is easily the most double teamed and triple teamed player in the league, period! You can deduce from this 2 things: 1) High probability a single defender will likely play Luka too physical and have to foul 2) If three bodies are defending Luka there is a high probability someone slips up and hits him. If your talking points sound like ESPN commentators, you don't know what you're talking about, and you probably don't watch the games, just like the ESPN commentators.

I don't like to be a Kidd hater, but it is worse to be a Kidd lover. Hardaway 19.26 min, 0-5 fgm, (-16 +/-). Kleber 8.05 min, 0 pts, 1reb, (-13 +/-) . Hardy got a turnover, but he is a rookie. Give him a break. He's been a great help.
Wow. First comment I’ve seen with constructive criticism. Not just calling the Celtics run a Mickey Mouse run.
But what options does he have? Who should he be playing otherwise? These are the guys he has. These are NBA level guys. These guys have produced at this level before. Hardaway averaged 15 this year and he was a 18+ ppg scorer for multiple years before this. You want him to just play a 6 man rotation? These guys need to get minutes lol.
Kleber really disrupted their rotation, he reduced Gafford’s playing time, it's puzzling why Kidd continued to rely on him. He lacked offensive skill, hesitated to take three pointers, and his defense was subpar, struggling to stay with his man and contest shots effectively.
Moreover, I'm not sure why Hardaway got so many minutes when Jones Jr. and Exum were playing effectively. Jones Jr. made significant contributions throughout the playoffs but was benched during crucial periods.
Agree. As much as I'm a Tim Hardaway fan, it was clear PJ Washington was the new Tim Hardaway and it's weird to go back to Tim all the sudden in the finals. Either keep playing Tim so he's in rhythm, or keep playing PJ. You make Tim and Kleber into bench players, and then all the sudden they are go to guys again? It takes time to adjust to roles. Bad decision IMO to ask them to snap back into their former selves all the sudden in the finals.

The bench needs a major overhaul this post season, luka needs in come in shape and push the ball faster, complain less and rush back to defense.
The Mavs lost to Miami on a horrible ref call for a timeout and years later they won against Miami in 2011. Sometimes the learning curve cuts like a dagger, but Luka is young with some teammates, and that’s how it goes. Game four is on Friday and that’s all that matters now.

I think it’s fair to say a lot of people (myself included) under estimated the experience factor. Our guys just looked lost at times, like deer in headlights.

I really hate to say it.. because of how much i want Dallas to bring the trophy home.. Boston looks amazing.. everything checks out.. shooting, defense, adaptability, experience as players and as well as finals appearances.. it just seems like it’s their time to get theirs.. mavs could always come back and win 4 strait, it’s definitely possible. However the likeliness of it is basically none.. we’re gonna make it back to the finals again. Idk if it’s next year or the year after.. but Luka and ky will get their rings with Dallas.

Kidd was bad the entire series and particularly this game. But that isn't the main reason for the loss (also not the horrible mavs hating officiating). Kyrie just disappointed down the stretch when Luka fouled out. So many bone headed plays, idiotic though 3 pull up, sleeping on D so brown gets and open 3 🙄
The role players as usual abysmal. Particularly PJ and DJJ which in addition to bricking also couldn't guard tatum and brown to save their own lives (the entire series). Even thinking about the bench makes me angry...
Super disappointing performance by everyone basically other than Luka, that definitely could've been better on D, but he's supposed to get help from his squad because of the offensive load he must carry.
The team basically failed him on both sides the entire series and that's sad.
Dallas went about as far as they can go. Boston has been knocking on this door for several years now.

That said, improvement in the two areas I mentioned must start now, meaning going into the off-season and into next year. Tatum also is a bit of a mixed bag superstar. Clearly
not on the level of Luka on the offensive side but definitely better on the defensive side. Dallas needs to develop more as a team. After all, they did come out of the West. Just ran across a more complete team.

The mavs have done it before and won in the playoffs. He also had 4 steals in game 2 and another 2 in game 1, so he wasn't all bad. They just couldn't capitalize.

I know you Boston sports fans are used to 🐂 💩 officiating going into your favor so often you probably think that's just how officiating works, but it's not normal for a player to be facing the ref while ripping on the arm of a guy trying to shoot a 3 while staring at the ref and pointing out to the ref what you're doing to try to get a foul called and you still can't get a foul called even when you purposely try. Meanwhile, the other team's best player gets a flurry of personals and "fouls out" with over 4 minutes left in a must win.
