crazy how i do a lot of those think instinctively, but not confident enough to call it truth against common ideas in BJJ .... thanks for that sir, now i know i'm in the good path, because of you!
I used this the last few weeks against purple and browns and when they got close to getting my back I just gave up the back and let them get a choke grip without resisting it,never once did I have to tap! This is incredible!
Looks like Marcos Barbosa is extremely good at escaping the back using a similar escape. I found the video Priit mentioned, plus more back escapes by Barbosa: Marco Barbosa vs. Mistuyoshi Hayakawa ruclips.net/video/E0oRcOI8TtM/видео.html Vitor "Shaolin" vs Marco Barbosa ruclips.net/video/J33DMNJc6xA/видео.html Royler Vs Marco Barbosa ruclips.net/video/xT8KEw3GVTk/видео.html
Are all Estonians like this... am I moving there? How do they feel about hyper logical thinkers but 1000x more expressive (ADHD)? Asking for a friend. People also miss my jokes and laugh when I am serious. Difference in thinking types maybe... In seriousness, I believe this is now my 4th video from Professor Priit (I believe this is respectful term, 1wk wb here). His openness to ideas and harshness in their evaluation is, to my mind, exactly the correct approach. Love the science based training. His teaching style has elevated my understanding of bjj from almost zero to a degree I cannot possibly understand yet (fun, thoug I still claim to know 'nothing'). I do know this, the conceptual ideas have left me with a feeling of confidence on how to approach BJJ from thinking/training /rolling. No longer "trying to protect my chin with punches". Leaving the problem vs solution methodology (as the primary form) of training is something I preach on (fundamental conceptual approaches make learning efficient) . I have even changed my own self definition from becoming a BJJ player(?), to learning grappling- with a white belt in bjj and a great local Professor to learn from. This shift will be massive to the speed of my progress I am sure. Very grateful to Professor Priit (also Professor Chris Paines and this channel).
I used that "Priit shit" today for the first time. I rolled with a brown belt, it was a chill roll, a technique roll if you will. He only subbed me once. At the end of the 6 min round he said, damn, you have some good defense :D made my day. I was just being as annoying as possible tbh.
This video 2 years ago was a game changer for me! It's still a hidden gem!

He's so loveably grumpy. Reminds me of my first instructor
It’s a Slavic thing we’re all like that lol
Priit needs to come out with some dvd, and digital instructional! The stuff I've learned from him watching globetrotters has helped my game.
looks like bjjfantics.com heard our cries for a dvd series from him!
DefensiveBJJ
There already are several Priit dvds. but yeah he definitely need more dvd and materials :)
You should do a body triangle escape/defense seminar.
This is bloody brilliant!!! Thanks a lot for the video.
