    in short protect your ribs, boxing shoulder, wrist fight, rollout when there is no weight/pressure, work in combinations. Stand up

      Pretty much I guess ...sounds simple :D

      So I am just beginner but boxing shoulder is somewhat natural to me - I have some boxing experience. So just doing that instead of waving my arms around and getting caught already improved my defense . I can survive longer. I just keep my elbows tight just like in boxing when protecting body shots it feels right and it helps - best of both worlds!

    Any white belt who is looking for the best STRATEGY, to learn, to spar, and to enjoy jiu-jitsu training from day one should listen carefully to everything here and "especially" from 39: 33 to the end, which is something to WRITE DOWN, and to apply. Priit will make us all enjoy jiu jitsu more. Thank you :-)

    Priit can't agree with you more. I hate the way that BJJ/MMA is taught nowadays. Thank you for enlightening people on a better way to think and train. Loving the videos

    Fantastic. Loved the black belt analogy. I always thought of black belts not as a swiss army knife but as a scalpel - a precision cut at the right time.

    • @DefensiveBJJ
      @DefensiveBJJ 4 года назад +1

      Yup ...I think it is a bit misleading to say swiss army knife

    • @adamabbas1487
      @adamabbas1487 4 года назад +2

      Not totally. There are people that do escape in similar ways like Marcelo Garcia, Keenan Cornelius and Jacare. Wrist control as a means to stop guard passes and as a means of control is not new. I would admit that most bjj instructors would not advice giving the back as a means of escape, but he doesn't fully give up the back. He does it before giving them any good control.
