This works for sure, lately I have escaped armbars from every belt color with this same movement . I start rounds in almost completed armbar and get out everytime! Reverse Hitchhiker FTW!
@@JSMinstantcoaching lol i learned sumo as a kid lmao no gi wrestlin rear naked defense is a must ....you can link it i dont mind watching........ When doing no gi .....arm bars everyone just stacks nice to see a full escape when on bottom💯 pritt is lucky to have a gd teacher💯
The first time I was shown an armbar, I was told that I need to have the thumb pointed up for it to work. The first defenses I was shown involved moving the thumb away from up.
Cool concept. Im not expert, not even close but I actually do something similar when opponent tries kimura from guard. I simply turn my wrist so its palm up and magically the kimura is no longer there
@@aeklant Try it its funny sometime. Ill purposely put my hand on the mat while in closed guard so people can go for it just to watch it dissolve before their eyes.
Wow, been doing the Jeeeetz for a long time, have always been wondering about something like this. Is there an angle where the standard armbar from the top might not work to the point of possible escape ? Now I have an answer.
I would be really good in BJJ, cause I am never flat. This is hardwired to my brain because each time I try going flat during sleep my fiancee elbows me in the ribs because I start snoring when on my back.
Lol that joke at 9:40
"That's from 6 years of Wing Chun"
Tough crowd! Hahaha
i can relate to this joke :) I had 12 years of wing chun :)
"False Negatives." - One of the more important principles and pitfalls to be aware of in all of jiu-jitsu.
Yep. This definitely works. If the opponent is good, it will not be comfortable, may still grind your arm, but it's better than getting a broken arm.

Wow sounds great !!!
as precious as a diamond 💎
Would you teach other submission escapes such as triangle escape in the future, sir?
I can when they are more thought out they way the armbar is.
i think there are already some stacking and standing/posturing triangle defenses. but i would love more of priits flavor on it
@@rollinOnCode me too :-)
10:25 thumb down escape
28:18 shrimp toward them escape
29:40 step over escape
33:20 escapes
i love you priit!!!!

priit is the best!
He is so underrated, yet a true researcher !
^^^This guy had 25 years of Wing Chun. I caught your 'inside' joke. ;)
12:00 That inside turn can still be armbared
It is hard to debate could vs could not …things happen and it is a sport …my point is always that you should know why you lose
@@DefensiveBJJ great point!
