Great input here. A larger audience will stay for a good story and a smaller one will be impressed with how well it was shot. Do both and you're that much ahead.
The 6KP is such a tank man and you know how to get the most out of it! Also, extra points for the sweet sweet look from the FD lenses. Keep these vids rolling out man they're so refreshing. Much love from Tennessee 🙏🏼
Well said and nicely put together. I have often believed and said that story is a given. Getting access for a doc isnt easy but once done its done. Likewise a script costs nothing to rewrite and perfect but gear is a resource that often is restricted because of budget and it absolutely matters. Shoot on an alexa with cine lenses of your choice super speeds or cookes and then say that gear doesn’t matter. Or use a dolly or full track. Cranes or robotic arms. Gear absolutely matters. It is rare as independents that budgets are not restricted and it’s amazing how much money can be burned on shoots that are inherently expensive eg lights at night genies location costs and have a large cast or crew. Food and transport alone can really add up. That said there are few cameras so affordable as the bmpcc6k that gives such instant results to elevate a scene when budgets are so tight. Excellent work and particularly the studio top down shot. High angle was very nice and it’s exactly the kind if value added shot that can really elevate a production. Easy to not bother but makes all the difference. Well done and thx for sharing the work.
I’m saving for a camera now. I feel like I’ve been saving for years. I hope soon I can just do the things I want. Seeing other following their passion is very inspiring. What’s your documentary about? It looks like you shot it more like a film. Loving the look.

Nice breakdown. Which easyrig knockoff did you get? I didn't see anything like in your pictures on the Proaim site. I've loved using the Easyrig Stabil before but I'm just not willing to spend that much on one.
Totally agree with everything you said about gear at beginning of video. What Pro Mist filter did you use in your documentary? What brand and strength? Als, That looks like a Matthews Junior boom not a Manfrotto.I have one. Did it have a 25 pound weight on the end? I took mine off and use shot bags as it is easier to manage for what I do.

No it didn’t have to do with power. The fans would turn on but the lcd and all sdi ports started to glitch and then just wouldn’t turn back on. Big bummer. Also I read online that this was an issue with multiple units.

Great insight into your craft. Thanks for the honest tell Tim!
Thanks!
Amazing insights! Really enjoyed learning about the process. The footage is stunning. 100% agree that learning is key! 👏
Thank you!
Great stuff! Definitely adding the BlackMagic Pocket 12K and Pro Mist filter on my list.
Good choice!

Nice work… definitely the look I’m going for. Can you do an in-depth review on the FD s you used and how you got that look ?
I’ll put it on my list 🤙
Would love to see a breakdown of the cart you built. Carts can be so crazy expensive!
I’ll add it to my list! Yeah film carts are too expensive lol

Thanks! I bought mine locally from a photographer but the easiest place would probably be eBay. The conversion kits I used are from www.simmodlens.com
@@timothy_films Thanks, I appreciate the info. My problem is that I wouldn't know how to do the conversion myself.
@@emmanuelOfilms it’s pretty simple. Simmod Lens has tutorial videos on their website.

What factored into your initial choice of the URSA Mini 12k for this project?
A few things. All of my lenses are EF, I already had a Pocket 4K, Ursa’s frame rates are amazing, and I love working with Braw
where can i get the slider that you use in this video please
It’s the Dana Dolly in the description 👍
Its possible the battery plate was not connected securely on the back of your 12k

@@timothy_films that’s frustrating. Ive owned my 12k for over a year, thing is a workhorse. Are you going to purchase another unit?

The shadow on your face cos of your lighting was a bit scary to me initially 😅
Haha I like using these RUclips videos to experiment and I’m trying not to be boring like every other channel out there lol
Just a tiny kiss of light on the dark side to get a little bit of a glint from your eye movements would have perfected the look.
