I live in St. Louis, MO and we have White Castle everywhere. I’ve been to New Orleans about six times before the flood (no family, I just love the city). In all of those visits, I’ve never had a Krystal burger. Everyone I knew told me it’s nothing like White Castle.

When I bought the frozen ones, I hated the taste and thought they were terrible. but, my husband told me to go with him to an actual restaurant in Chicago, IL (I'm from Fort Worth, Tx) and give it another shot. HUGE difference in taste. If I didn't listen to my husband, I would've assumed that it was one of the worst based off the frozen ones in the box.

Another thing is that when we froze our straight off the grill burgers we put the pickles on them! I am a bit disappointed that they do sell the frozen double cheeseburger, those were my favorite with cheese fries! I don’t think they have them locally where I live now because they have Krystal’s which is a knock off of White Castle Oh how I love hose burgers!!!
Down here in florida we have Krystal burgers. i had white castle burgers while visiting new jersey and new york. Same size burger patties but krystal has fatter buns and uses mustard on their burgers and white castle has thinner buns and uses ketchup.

Our contest was to see who could eat the most, no barfing allowed, had to win by two and the loser paid. Prior to consumption, you had to use a ketchup packet to inscribe a unique letter of the alphabet you had not used yet on the burger. If somehow you finished the alphabet, you won instantly. Ended up losing 14 to 12 when I realized that there was no way my friend was going to let me win.

The frozen ones are insanely nasty. The real deal White Castle is leaps and bounds better than Krystal. Growing up in the Chicago area I grew up on WC. I moved to Florida and all they had was Krystal....I moved back to Chicago.

Their is a huge difference between the frozen ones in the store and the fresh ones made at the restaurants. And I had Krystal's as well. White Castles are way better then Krystals. I've had them both, and Krystal is better. More meat, more bread, and mustard. The onions on a white castle fall off the bottom of the bun. The meat has holes all throughout it. Unless you get a white castle where the cheese has melted, you have an inferior product to a Krystal.

It's a 150 mile trek for me to get some sliders into my mouth. In a pinch, there is fast food burger you can order with no ketchup, no mustard, with pickles and double onion that comes pretty close to a slider. Not quite as greasy and the bun does not have the onion infused flavor, but it's close enough to take the edge off.

Because fast food doesn't have any more calories than slow food. You really need to learn some science. An 800 calorie salad is healthier than an 800 calorie fast food meal, in the sense that it has more vitamins, more fiber, etc. But if you burn off 1000 calories, you still lose weight either way. You don't have to give up fast food, pizza, candy, anything really to be on a diet. You just need less of it. Homemade food can easily have way more calories than fast food because you don't have the budget and social restrictions. Homemade food can easily be just as caloric. Sure, when you cook the food yourself, you can add a lot more vegetables, but there's nothing forcing you to decrease the meat and carbs. Adding more vegetables doesn't make you lose any weight unless you also reduce something else. Mcdonald's doesn't just magically add extra calories to things. A McDonald's burger actually has fewer calories than a homemade burger. I lost 20 pounds on my diet so far. It included pizza, burgers, sausages, chocolate, tacos, even beer, etc. There were also some salads, some quinoa, healthy things. Still lost the weight. There were a lot less bread and potato chips, a lot fewer snacks, etc. You can still have a cheeseburger for lunch, you just can't have the fries or chips. Have carrots instead. One time I ate a falafel salad. Falafel is fried. There were sour cream and all kinds of stuff in the salad. But I ate it in salad form, that means I didn't get a flatbread and make it into a wrap. It wasn't too many calories because I sacrificed the bread. If you wanted to eat bread, you would have to sacrifice something else. The day of my doctor's appointment, I went to Mcdonald's for lunch. Then I had only a small dinner. My total calories for the day was less than I burned, so I still lost a little bit of weight that day. You do not need to give up any food in particular, just have less total food.

Here in the North East (New Hampshire) , we can only get them from the grocery store frozen food section, not the same but close
White Castle are ok. Never had a store bought one though just frozen. Krystals are waaay better. As a teen Id eat 10. As an adult I am full on 4.
The frozen ones are insanely nasty. The real deal White Castle is leaps and bounds better than Krystal. Growing up in the Chicago area I grew up on WC. I moved to Florida and all they had was Krystal....I moved back to Chicago.
That's the problem, you never had them from a restaurant. so how can you say Krystal are way better? Their is a huge difference between the frozen ones in the store and the fresh ones made at the restaurants. And I had Krystal's as well. White Castles are way better then Krystals. Again, f you never had one then you cant compare. I have had them and can tell you first hand what ones are better.
I've had them both, and Krystal is better. More meat, more bread, and mustard. The onions on a white castle fall off the bottom of the bun. The meat has holes all throughout it. Unless you get a white castle where the cheese has melted, you have an inferior product to a Krystal.

There are no White Castles in my state, but once when I was traveling through Kentucky, I stopped at a White Castle knock-off called Krystals.
Krystal has been around since 1932, only eleven years younger than White Castle. It's not a knock-off. Yes, it was started after the restaurant owner had tried White Castle. However, they're similar, yet a bit different. Other than in Tennessee and Kentucky, their stores do not overlap. Krystal is in Georgia, South Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas, and one store in North Carolina and one in Virginia, as I recall. White Castle is generally in Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, New York, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Tennessee and Kentucky.

It's a 150 mile trek for me to get some sliders into my mouth. In a pinch, there is fast food burger you can order with no ketchup, no mustard, with pickles and double onion that comes pretty close to a slider. Not quite as greasy and the bun does not have the onion infused flavor, but it's close enough to take the edge off.

Sure, as long as you don't get fries and soda. Same thing at McDonald's or anywhere else really. If you skip the fries and soda, you can fit a lot in your calorie budget.

Because fast food doesn't have any more calories than slow food. You really need to learn some science. An 800 calorie salad is healthier than an 800 calorie fast food meal, in the sense that it has more vitamins, more fiber, etc. But if you burn off 1000 calories, you still lose weight either way. You don't have to give up fast food, pizza, candy, anything really to be on a diet. You just need less of it. Homemade food can easily have way more calories than fast food because you don't have the budget and social restrictions. Homemade food can easily be just as caloric. Sure, when you cook the food yourself, you can add a lot more vegetables, but there's nothing forcing you to decrease the meat and carbs. Adding more vegetables doesn't make you lose any weight unless you also reduce something else. Mcdonald's doesn't just magically add extra calories to things. A McDonald's burger actually has fewer calories than a homemade burger. I lost 20 pounds on my diet so far. It included pizza, burgers, sausages, chocolate, tacos, even beer, etc. There were also some salads, some quinoa, healthy things. Still lost the weight. There were a lot less bread and potato chips, a lot fewer snacks, etc. You can still have a cheeseburger for lunch, you just can't have the fries or chips. Have carrots instead. One time I ate a falafel salad. Falafel is fried. There were sour cream and all kinds of stuff in the salad. But I ate it in salad form, that means I didn't get a flatbread and make it into a wrap. It wasn't too many calories because I sacrificed the bread. If you wanted to eat bread, you would have to sacrifice something else. The day of my doctor's appointment, I went to Mcdonald's for lunch. Then I had only a small dinner. My total calories for the day was less than I burned, so I still lost a little bit of weight that day. You do not need to give up any food in particular, just have less total food.
Zed no, but it's fun to brag about my diet, and see if anyone else does it this way. I would like to inspire people to lose weight. It's not as hard as they think. If you can get through the first few weeks, it's pretty easy from there.

I've been eating White Castle's since 1960. It wasn't called a Slider then and I will never call it a slider. Slider is some marketing concept some suit in the back room came up with to give small hamburgers a cute name.
1:44 searing meat does not "keep the flavor in", searing caramelizes the meat ADDING flavor to it. If you don't sear meat the flavor doesn't somehow leak out or evaporate.
