Thanks for posting! Such a pretty color of glitter, too! Fantastic job ... and I think the spray that you use looks a lot better than using a final sealing cover of modge podge that I’ve seen.

Just an fyi mod podge makes a thick clear high gloss dishwasher safe finishing coat. I has a long drying time though

First time I see this product called Etchall ....is this available in only this color? Thank you for the video! Love the design
Yes, to my knowledge this is the only color. The color really does not matter though with etching because after the etching is done you wash away to etchall.

How well does the electrical tape prevent bleeding? I'm thinking the electrical tape would be awesome on round surfaces, thanks for sharing! Also, how come you didn't cover the opening at the top? Aren't you concerned with the spray getting inside?
I love using it! It pulls really well and is secure to stop the bleeding!
Your suppose to keep moving the etch cream for the whole time its on, and go in different directions. It helps make sure even the tiniest opening is getting the etch

I always use the complex even if it is only two colors.
Late to the party but this is beautiful! When you spray the clear coat, is it just over the glitter or is it over the entire glass?

tip: be careful not to get finger prints on the intended etched surface while applying the stencil or clean with alcohol before applying the etch cream

I have used mini wax on wood but I have not tried it on glass. It is worth a try though.
Hello, after spraying the glass and letting it dry, you wash it but do you soap where the glitter is or just rinse it off. Also will the glitter come off after spraying it? Thank you
Nekisha H the glitter should not come off after you spray it. You can use dish soap and water to clean. Only hand wash do not put it in the dishwasher.

Did you prep the glass besides just washing it?
It is always a good idea to clean it with rubbing Alcohol.
how did you make your etching cream 'brown'? i don't see where you can buy in colors. did add something to it? TY!!!
The etching cream I use is Etchall and it comes in a brown color.
How did you make the letters gold?
So....I used mod podge. It looked so pretty. There was a slight lift on an edge when I looked at it it was so easy to just peel off. What did I do wrong?
Did you peel back the tape when it was still wet. If you wait until it is dry it can cause issues.
I did acrylic pour on wine glass and then sealed it with regular mod podge. Even in my case the mod podge adn acrylic paint were pealing off. I baked the glass in oven at 180 degree Celsius for 30 mins. That sealed it pretty wel.. I have handwashed it and it is good. It you scratch at it really really hard it might come off but for normal use and wash its good.
When you say to remove tape when glitter is still damp, about how long is that? Is there any way to tell if it’s damp?
Wendy Peck I usually just wait about 5-10 minutes. You want to be able to cleanly pull off the tape. If you wait until it is dry there is a chance that any glitter that is on the tape will pull off and wreck you crisp straight line. I hope this makes sense.

What vinyl did you use
651 vinyl
Is there a certain type of vinyl to use that works best for Glass Etching?
I like to use permanent vinyl but you can also use stencil vinyl.
I would like to know is there a way to add color to etched glass without it washing off. Or can you drink wine out of it. If it gets on the wine glass outside will it come off?
I have used an cream for vases after I have etched but when you wash it, it comes off. You might be able to use a paint color that you can bake on but I have not tried it yet.
I just watched some videos on RUclips on this. You can use a product call rub 'n buff it only sticks to the etching & is suppose to last for awhile as long as handwash. I'm about to try it myself. Fingers crossed!
What is the name of the pen you are using to remove the letters?

Deb Savin thanks for asking. You are right I should of posted. I have cards made up with direction when I give then as a gift. Here is the care instructions: Do not soak glass. Do not scrub stem. Not dishwasher safe. Not microwave safe. Hand wash only in lukewarm water. Only rinse the glittered stem.

Can you do the glitter part before you complete the Etchall process?
You could but it is easier to do the etching process first because of the tapeing off process you need to insure your etching is done.
When you washed it you just hand washed with a regular sponge?
Yes, hand wash and don’t soak it!

Hi. What kind of clear coat you used
I used Clear, Rust-Oleum American Accents 2X Ultra Cover, Semi-Gloss Spray Paint, 12 oz.
What a good idea, I wouldn't have thought of that. Is it still food safe with this spray though? I might try it!
How long the glitter will stay on that glass after u spray it?will it be permanent?
I have not had issues with mine and I made it two years ago. Just handle with care and I recommend hand washing.
What color/brand of glitter are you using? I tried to follow the link you posted but when I received the glitter it didn't have the color in it that you have, the bottles were smaller and none of the bottles had a name or label on it.
Unfortunately I did this video a few years ago. I believe one of the colors was rose gold.

You could make a stencil and use mod podge to apply the glitter.

There are actually places where it is called Modge Podge and is sold under that name.

did you say varnish down? I think you meant burnish down. Burnish sounding like “burn-ish, not “barn-ish”. Burnish means rub with a dull edged or hard rounded tool.

This video was extremely helpful, but oh gosh please wear gloves when handling etching cream. Especially if one uses Armor Etch, it is very caustic and can cause serious damage to the skin.
