    Upgraded from an older 18v kit. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv I independently chose the drill and impact tool, before I came across the kit.I like the 3 speed impact gun. It seems more powerful than my older one, and it can be set to be really gentle. The drill is more appropriately sized for my use. I used to have a hammer drill, but I did not like that it was so big and it was not a great hammer drill. I rather have a smaller drill like this, and then get a corded hammer drill for the odd case I need that.

    When you factor in price. Kobalt is the hands down winner. A fraction of the price for roughly the same performance.

    When you’re subtracting the 4 seconds it doesn’t make a difference in the comparison. I understand you’re doing this in case there’s a fumble but if you subtracted 4 for both or added 1000 for both we’re looking at the time difference between the two and this change doesn’t really effect that at all. Great video by the way, just wanted to point that out.

      In at least one of the tests, if you watch the yellow band with th Dewalt logo on the driver bits, you can plainly see the Kobalt is turning somewhat slower which would obviously cause it to lose the race. I'm not saying he did anything nefarious on purpose. I'm saying that it's just the difference in speeds of those particular settings on the tools. Milwaukee tools are excellent tools, no doubt. But, they are outrageous and most people but them because either; A) they feel it makes them look more professional and successful. Like a status symbol or B) it's a mental thing about having what most people consider the best. Or C) a combination of both. Lol. As for me, I decided to try a Kobalt 24 volt drill and impact driver 3 years ago when my Dewalts broke down in the middle of a job and haven't used anything else since. I'm now starting to buy the new Kobalt XTR stuff and they are absolutely great. The performance and power, reliability, warranty and especially the cost make Kobalt the best available, in my opinion. Plus, that color of blue is much more attractive than anything else out there. Lol. Anyway, Buy Kobalt. Unless your just hung up on a bull crap image trip, you won't be sorry.

    I was between the kobalt xtr lineup and the Milwaukee fuel. I have been using the regular brushless kobalts for over 3 years and they have served me well, after being abused a lot. They are starting to show their age now and I was looking to upgrade. Never used Milwaukee before but I’ve tried every other brand. Each have their own issues or short comings. My only hesitation with switching to Milwaukee was the price. But after researching profusely I decided to go with a set of Milwaukees that were on sale for cheaper than the kobalt xtrs. Thus far I’m really liking them.

    • @Impact-OG
      @Impact-OG  3 года назад

      I really like the xrt line up, I hope they expand it. I like Milwaukee too, but I just cant justify the price.. Kobalt is a good brand that get trashed on to much. Thank you for comparing the new Kobalt XTR against probably the best power tool brand out right now Milwaukee. I'm a huge Kobalt fan! I have all of the 24V Max Kobalt Power tools and I've just picked up all of the Kobalt XTR power tools that are out right now. Kobalt is becoming a major competitor in the professional market with this new XTR line. They are no longer just the homeowner DIY brand. I think for a homeowner DIYer, the Kobalt 24V and XTR lines would be more than sufficient for anything you will do at home. I have friends doing regular homeowner stuff buying Milwaukee because they are the "best" but I can't see spending 2x or 3x the price for Milwaukee tools, batteries, etc ... to do homeowner tasks. For my company truck I buy Milwaukee because for one it's company money, and for two I'm doing industrial work but for homeowners shit ... Kobalt all day long.

      It actually does have an impact on power. Smaller batteries can't manage a sustained output at the same level as bigger batteries, but you only really start to notice it when you are cutting big LVL boards or driving 8-12 inch screws, but stick a 2.0 and a 6.0 on two drills side by side the 6.0 will crush the 2.0.

    CP3.0 is still a single battery pack(single row of 3AH 2170 cells), where the Kobalt is a double pack(two rows of 2AH 2170 cells). Think as its like using one or two batteries for starting a diesel truck. You can get higher sustained voltage with 2 batteries. If you hooked up the 6AH HO milwaukee battery I can guarantee it would walk all over the kobalt.

      Oh, don't get me wrong these tools can be used on jobsite or garages. Just a lot of guys or gals choose not too or you don't see any at jobsite.
      When i started in construction i used my Craftsman tools on jobsite. The funny thing was guys would make fun of me. Then they started to realize that my Craftsman where clones of their tools and i was paying less. My craftsman 7 1/4 worm drive circular saw was actually skil brand, jigsaw was bosch, brad nailer and 5 1/2 trim circular saw was porter cable. This was in the early 2000 when Craftsman got permission / deal from name brands to put their brand name on it. Still today i use my Craftsman worm drive 7 1/4. I change the gear oil and it has a diablo blade and still going. Guys still today can't believe it actually a skil brand. Identical in everthing except the name.
      People who get the new kobalt should use them on jobsite and prove it can be used. For the DIY this is a great buy for their money. Plus they're good tools.
