- The Silver Shadow Teardrop from Little Guy Trailers was a legend in the small camper world. Well, it's back...sort of. It now goes under the name Little Guy Shadow and this trailer takes the original silver shadow to a whole new level. But, is it better? They replaced the wood traditonal teardrop construction with composite materials and an aluminum cabin frame. This means this trailer is more impervious to water than the older version, plus the aluminum cuts down on weight. They continue to use steel for the chassis for rigidity and strength. And have kept that beautiful galley kitchen, but modernized it throughout. The hardwood cabinets both in the cabin and the galley kitchen are handcrafted, solid, and beautiful! Do you want to take some creature comforts out camping with you? There is a tv and entertainment system in the cabin, an outdoor tv mount, air conditioning, a 10 gallon water tank and sink, and many more camping comfort options. These guys thought of everything!

Drew, do you know if the 203lb/92kg tongue weight is with water tank filled up? It wouldn't make a difference when you're moving it by hand at home though, when the tank's usually empty.
Does it have a grey water tank and if it doesn't, where does the sink outlet dump the water?
The exterior design, construction and that couch/table system are really impressive but it doesn't feel like the abundance of features were considered as a cohesive whole:
Handy roof rack... With non-standard rails that will need drilling to fit awning brackets.
Uncluttered galley... But a cluttered cab. The fire extinguisher should be in the galley imho.
Lots of storage in the cab... But lacking useful clothes storage space.
Super wide bed... With a middle section that doesn't look to have useable adult legroom.
Great headroom in the galley... Which leaves very few options for galley shelter.
Two drawers for cutlery, utensils and crockery... But an under-sink cabinet that would struggle with pots and pans.
Faucet and sink... Without hot water.
Space for a decent size 12V fridge... Filled with an (optional?) thermoelectric cooler.
While I'm soapboxing, does anyone still use an FM radio and external speakers?
This is such an amazing breakdown, I am pinning this comment! Unfortunately I can't pin it until I get home, my phone will not let me pin or at least I can't figure out how to do it. And you're right that tongue weight is with the dry weight, once you get that water in there, it should lessen that. As for the gray water tank, I can't even remember, I assume on a trailer this small. Small. It's just a dump underneath the subfloor and you collect it in a portable gray water tank

I can sometimes get an AM station, but I tend to be far enough in the sticks it is rare to get either. I’ll use the Bluetooth to run tunes off my MP3.
I’ve been looking at teardrops for a while, knowing that in a few more years I will be ending my tent camping and moving to a pull-behind.
This is the first one that gives me just what I’m looking for: simultaneous sleeping and working configuration.
I’ve been known to WFC (work from campsite) rather than WFH. Soon I’ll be WFT (work from teardrop).
If you're okay with it, I think I'm going to steal your acronyms. I plan on doing a lot of wft from my bed on wheels as well
With Little Guy on the ropes, I'm not sure the point of this review. However, I'd agree with your comment about a more stripped-down version. I don't know why companies keep shoving radios, tv's, and microwaves (not in this one, but still) into Teardrops. Big mattress - Yes. Ability to have bed and table - Yes, awesome. Practical kitchen with storage drawers -- Yes, super. However, clothes storage space on this one is poor -- I just want someplace to shove a small to medium duffle bag with my clothes -- why oh why fill the space with a useless radio's, fuse panel, etc? I have a phone and earbuds or can bring my own BT speaker. We're all carrying around supercomputers in our pockets; RV maker's (especially teardrops) need to stop jamming dated electronics into RVs. I'd rather have the practical storage space and lower cost.

I bought a 2024 Little Guy Max. Nice trailer, had a few issues as I bought it brand new. That was no problem to me, until Extreme Outdoors left the business and no longer honors its warrantee. It is a shame now that all of us new buyers are left holding the bag as so many RV dealerships will not do any work on Extreme Outdoors trailers. I am not sure how they can be allowed offer new products after bailing on all the new buyers so recently. They do not answer and return email either. Buyers beware!

You talked about seeing stripped down version, the "entry level" for this.
Honestly this is something i've noticed not just in trailers but in a lot of industry, including boats... and its size creep.
50 years ago you could get small "weekend cruisers" made for 1-2 people, little sail boats with a cabin, porta potty inside, v berth, little air to cook. There were just a ton of these made in 14-16' sizes. Siocco, sage 15, potter 15, the list goes on. but over time companies started getting away with larger ones, slowly increasing the size. while discontinuing the smaller.
C-dory offered a 16' "cruiser" A little cruiser with Vberth, toilet, space for a fridge, enclosed bridge cabin that could be heated. add a binimi on the back and you could go out for days on it.
Now its all but impossible to find anything smaller then 20' in fact, ranger who had a 21' tug, canceled that and went with the 23... they just kept pushing the size and weight up, slowly... and discontinuing the smaller stuff.
The same happens all to often with teardrops, the size and weight of them keeps getting pushed up, higher and higher, while the companies discontinue the smaller stuff. they may not get as much of a profit margin with the small stuff... but sometimes smaller is what the customer wants, or needs. a 26' cruiser can be a lot harder for a single person to dock trailer or such... but a 16'er can be really easy. A person with a bad back might not be able to work well with a 2700 lb 200 lb tongue weight trailer, but a 500lb trailer with 50lb tongue weight but work much better.
Great comment and good observation. Scamp has actually recently introduced a "Scamp Lite" which is 13' and 1250lbs. Starts at 17k. Pretty barebones, but comes with bunk beds, a "kitchenette" (no plumbing or stove built in, but good countertop space), and a dinette that converts into a 54" wide bed. Best feature is the floor is fully composite and the shell is fiberglass so little chance of water damage. Great simple camper. I hope Scamp can sell them. Would be rad if Drew could get a camera on one. I love my 1998 Scamp I found on FB marketplace, but if the Scamp Lite was an option when I was ready to buy, I would have seriously considered one.
@@aertime- hehe, scamp 13. layout 2. Picture "cutting" the dinette table in half Swivel slide mount the rest of it. and have the rest of it set down as a fixed bed. so 2 people could sit or 1 person could have a perm bed.
per bed + table and 2 sitting spots + small kitchen with sink, stove, mini fridge, toilet, shower. all you need to do is add an air fryer, since there isn't an oven... and you are golden. LOL.
As to the Scamp lite. that is a TON of space, talk about sleeping 4+. Though i could also see it being used by say 2 guys on a hunting trip. using the bunk bed and leaving the table up.
Lets see, canadian tire time - i'm not sure if a 5 gal or even a 4 gal water jug would fit in any of those cupboards... and theres no place to just leave one on the floor so you might be forced to go with smaller 1 gal bottles, BUT you can still get hand pumps for them. little 1 burner butane stove good for boiling water, cooking basic stuff. No place inside really to store a cooler so you're making runs to the tow vehicle for that stuff, or using dry goods mostly for meals. Pânsâwân, Pemmican, and/or Ch'itsuh time :) with hard tack. Rice, beans, corn flower, add in some dehydrated vegetables... maybe some potatoes, since you can keep those, oh the stews you could make.
LOL Or you could just run with MRE's... canned food, freeze dried meals, retort pouch meals. though kinda expensive, Uncle bens 90 second rice meals, are actual retort pouches. while its "made" to microwave, they are pre-cooked so you can warm the pouch up instead by dropping it in boiling water much like any retort pouch. So this is likely the most space effective, and easiest way to "cook" in this for any trips..
4 person hunting trips for example would be interesting in that as a light weight alterntive, freeing up your trailer bed to bring the meat back.
Amen! Hiker trailer has been listening. They just came out with a new $4,900 700 lb 4x8 model with an aluminum chassis. Woot woot!
@@PlayingwithSticks I was just on their page, didn't see the 700 yet, but they have a 1100 pounder for 5999... gwr 1900 with shocks rated for 2000 max. (suspension rated more then the GWR what you expect to see.
Well, I apologize for being late to the party! This teardrop has a lot of potential, but it’s too heavy, too many add ons, I’m in the neighborhood of other people’s opinions here. Too big and I just want something light, just the basics, no TV, no AC, I’m not going to cook near the trailer. Thank you, Drew, for all you do for us 🩷

A decent teardrop. I personally could do without the water and the TV. I like the front window. The front box isn’t really a box. It is just a cover (has no floor) so you couldn’t store anything else in there.

Our 2014 T@B 320 had a tongue box without a floor. One day I forgot to wrap our cord with velcro straps and destroyed the cord as it unraveled and we dragged it about 50 KM. Replaced the box with a aluminum box and drilled some vent holes for the propane tank. Held more and nothing fell out.
The no floor may be so propane does not accumulate in box -- remember the battery is in there too
@@brianmccarty3615 All you need for propane venting is to drill some big holes with a hole saw in the bottom. It doesnt have to be completely open.

I was watching this thinking “okay, I’m getting all the things I find in a traditional pull behind or motor home so why wouldn’t I just buy one of those?” Seems like folks who gravitate to teardrops, micro and alternative type trailers are doing so for a reason, and that reason is often that traditional RVs aren’t offering much that interests them. But what do I know, I’m not part of this manufacturers marketing and research team. I’m glad you mentioned the desire to have a stripped down model. I see the appeal in that.
Tow capacity, cost, parking. Duh!
And we really don’t want to clean up our own crap and the dump stations……..

I would like Bean to incorporate this drop floor and table setup. They could call it the Split Bean.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think many of the bean models do have this option? I just have never used one of their trailers that has this. Or did they get rid of them recently??
@@PlayingwithSticks I believe the Bean seating can only be done all the way across the interior. As a solo traveler, I like the option of having a bed on one side and the sitting area on the other. This could be accomplished after market by splitting the cushion, but it would be nice if Bean offered it as an option.

Looks to be a very nice trailer. Could do without the air conditioner and have that a cabinet. Not enough cabinet space inside. This is just picking me, but having no bottom in the battery / propane compartment limits what you can put inside. They all seem to do it. I do like being able to sit inside with a table and still have your bed there. And I couldn't agree more, it would be nice if everybody had a stripped-down model of their trailers. So many people have their own camping gear and don't need the expense of all the rest of this stuff.

I knew when he said its made with aluminum and thats going to cost more, this would be overpriced. I found one in Michigan at General RV for 18999. For that price I'd go with a custom Hiker Trailer. This trailer to me is for the person that needs to finance a trailer at a dealership

Love the windows, doors, particularly the drop floor. My current teardrop has a sub floor compartment. I think I’ll modify that to build a drop floor beside the bed. Cool idea.
I need a roof rack to attach my bat wing awning(s) to, and mount rigid solar panels to. Not an issue in current configuration.
You can adjust the tongue weight by loading gear behind the axle. Also, even a small trailer can benefit from a sway/load control hitch. Simple ones work once you have added water, propane, batteries. Adjusting that for/aft balance can be a considerable advantage.

Thank you so much for this comment, and I agree, I spent a lot of time dialing in the weight balance of my trailer. A trailer that pulls poorly, with a bit of experimenting can actually turn out to be a great trailer. We've had trailers where I was like this will never work, but with the right balance of water and camping items it towed so much smaller

"if its raining you can have your windows open" Oh, i see, it doesn't rain sideways where you live.
"this is a mounting for the table." Oh lost opportunity, universal mounting allowing you to mount a table... OR an exterior shower... configure a simple pole with mounting points for the shower head and wrap around shower curtain with weights on the bottom to keep it from blowing around.
I love the bed/table configuration for solo traveling. So many of these companies forget about solo traveling.
weight 1700 lbs... remember folks this is DRY weight... its GVWR is 3000 lbs.. which is actually OVER the rating of its 2,800 lbs. Dexter Torflex Axle with Electric Brakes. (yeah drew thats something i noticed, its axle rating is 2800, but its GVWR is 3000... that... kinda worries me).
when looking at towing, never look at dry weight, because you are never going to be towing it with nothing at all inside. food, ice, drinks, clothing, gear, all has weight. that said. 2800lbs... A Honda civic can handle that since it has electric breaks.

Finally a teardrop for tall people!! Im 6’ and hubby is 6’4”. Looks like great functions. Tired of getting jazzed over products for short people only. A teardrop to start planning around. Agree I don’t care about TV or electronics. And hope there would be an amber light choice. Blue lights hurt the eyes. Otherwise very nice!
I'm with you on having Amber light. I have a friend who has a tag trailer and he just purchases this film from Amazon that you can put over the lights and change them to Amber. There is multiple colors of film so you can dial it in to get the one that fits you best. And yes, there aren't a lot of offerings for those tall folks

Well....i didn't take notes, but the things i liked kept adding up.
First, something that i want to see someday, PLEASE, is one of those channel systems across the bottom of the hatch door. Then, a very simple tent/wind screen that slides into it and can be staked down pretty close to the edge of the trailer. Just enough for a person to stand and cook (make emergency morning coffee in the rain!) And be out of the weather but simple enough to store and set up and down quickly. The hatch is really high and covers the cook as it is.
Id rather see the fire extinguisher in the galley.

I also like the clean looking galley, and the whole galley set up is good. I appreciate the water setup, but i know, for me, that i never want inboard water again. I think that the location of the water tank would keep it from freezing as quickly?
I would not like the ac blowing so low across the bed. Can that and the tv be swapped? Probably not, but that was my first response to seeing that.
The table set up is great! If they could shave off 700 lbs and still have the table, it would be a sure winner.
Yep, wood and under bed condensation are not your friends. However, what ever the varnish is that Campinn uses has served me well. I use (cant think of what its called) between the floor and my mattress and for all my years ive had no damage to the wood, and I've mopped up a lot of condensation.
Yes, all those bins in the floor are wonderful.
He didn't talk much about batteries. That is a big item for any one any more. As well as he kind of fluffed over the fact that there was a roof top solar panel.

Great feedback here! Yeah I think Camp Inn just in a whole different League when it comes to how they approached wood and water. They go above and beyond, which I just find others in the industry are not willing to copy. I think it costs a lot of money and a lot of time to do what they do. I think that's even something I talked about in one of my camping videos that I just wish other manufacturers would do what they're doing. So then would teardrops wouldn't get a bad rap. As for the boys climbing out, you might see that on our future trailer. I just picked up our new Bean stock this weekend from Colorado. That front window is going to be very alluring to the boys 😂 thank you so much for spending the time to leave such a detailed and helpful comment

I like the split bed/table option, and the awning windows, but yes too heavy for what I am looking for.
I'm right with you. I really like those options as well, but I would like to see this be a little lower in weight. I'm fine with trailers that weigh this much, but my issue with this one is that it's quite small for how much it weighs. Many of the larger teardrops come in at this exact same weight
Good that they are using materials that reduce moisture issues. The additional cost may offset interest for many buyers.

Great video! I went back down in size, from the original silver shadow 6x10, to the silver shadow 5x8. I do love the simplicity of this smaller size in the traditional model. The 6x10 was just too big and heavy to manuever with one person. I love the smaller size, where you just sleep indoors. I am glad to be back to the basics without all of the bells and whistles (and price) of this new generation Silver Shadow. I can see if you have an extended travel planned, with more than one person, that this model would be primo.
Looks fantastic nice review video!! Agree a composite floor option and opportunity to delete the water system would be nice.
Wow. Cute as a button. Wonder if the “ stargazer” term for the window is copyrighted since NuCamp uses it. Love the interior table too. Similar to a Vistibule. Also, have you seen NuCamp’s T@G SE? Stripped down version. It’s what I bought and I love it! Lots more versatility and very open and simple.
I didn't know there was an SE version of the T@G. I'm going to have to look that up. Have you seen the new tab? 360? Over 50% of the tab owners I know are ready to trade in their tabs for that new one. It's a really neat layout
Hi Drew. NuCamp only makes a few SEs each year. They’re one of those…you either like it or you don’t. For me, I love it! I didn’t want a lot of the extras but it still had the great quality build. If I find your email, I’ll send you some pics. And, yes, I’ve seen a video walk through of the 360. Several things make it not the camper for me. Biggest one being the galley. Absolutely no counter space. And, I don’t want a bigger fridge. If I upgraded I’d go back to the 320 or try the 400.

Sorry, maybe we didn't do a good job of explaining this trailer, but the cabin itself is all composite. It's azdell construction. The woods you see is just for the cabinets and false floor, the rest of the trailer is composite and aluminum

Amazing features!!! Change the colour / "colour-temperature" of the interior lighting to warm white/amber. / blue-blocker lighting. The blue light is very pretty, but seeing it at night it contributes to insomnia. And for me, personally, toss the air-conditioner, and put in a larger video screen/monitor.

Have to agree about the setup for a single person with table and bed, nice. But storage under the mattreses are a no go for me, just dont want the hassle. A large drawer system coming out the back under the trailer maybe would be preferable or even a carrier on the roofracks.
The oops was great! They could also put a small awning on top of the roofracks. Its limited due to the rear hatch hieght so maybe one of those bat wing systems.
AC - you'd think by now someone would come up with a tiny mini split - oh wait, they have!!
In the end the its too small for my liking for the wife and I at 60. I had a Boler for a short while and found it more to my prefernces.

Never got the crazy teardrop craze lol. For the fraction of the price to convert a box trailer, and you could make it exactly how you want it, and not be stuck with cheap materials that are used today in travel trailers. You could actually stand up inside, privacy of your own shower, full size fridge, and sink, and can actually sleep comfortably w/o having to rearrange everything out of the way. Then again I guess it’s the type of camping you are doing, and if you are using it double duty for hauling equipment, or vehicles.
Pretty much have to drop big money for a Airstream that you know WILL last a long time these days.🙃 These one piece teardrops are insanely priced imo.
Someone mentioned the German Minatouring. One of their models has a bike rack/tongue box like I've never seen. Box opens in the front and the blkes are on top. Probably can't post the link here. Title was Mini-Camper begeistert mit niedrigem Preis. (Mini camper with low price is exciting/inspiring. I have. an Aliner and can't find reasonable/funnctional bike rack for small camper.
Great video as always Drew. This trailer has a lot going for it for sure. My first thought was that the axle sets back pretty far and that might affect the tongue weight. Having the axle directly behind the door just a few inches would make a big difference.
That's a good point. I didn't even check axle placement. One thing not mentioned in this video is how heavy that countertop material is. I think that's the same countertop material they use in high-end teardrops like the black bean. That stuff is ridiculously heavy, which may have caused them to have to move that axle back.

They're calling it production on hold. I'm glad you pointed this out because I completely forgot about it. I talked to some of their staff this weekend at the overland expo and they truly believed that Joe was looking for a new manufacturing facility. I hope that's true

Wonder why fender clearance to tire appears like almost no suspension travel, especially since it is unloaded. Seems like trailers in general would benefit from more compliant suspensions to reduce the earthquake (protect content and trailer) and safer (by being more stable at speed).
Great review! Like the "trade-off" concept since what might be positive/negative to one might be opposite for another. I thought the bike rack receiver was crazy. You couldn't even access anything in the kitchen without removing the bikes? Like if you were on the road and wanted to make lunch? One more comment-- the tongue box is so huge! (giant tongue boxes seem to be a trend?) It makes the total length so much bigger. I would rather have more space inside, like make the trailer longer and have a smaller box? Any thoughts on that?

@@PlayingwithSticks Afternoon Drew (and Mae..).. I bought the Neo NHD model in White to match my slightly used 2017 GMC SIERRA SLE. I plan to do the dimond plate and fenders in a black raptor liner overcoat too! But the NHD is all 16" o/c studs, a 36" side door, ramp door and the rear stabilizers are standard.. I added 4 ladder racks for solar and to do my own "tarp awnings" and 2 MaxAir Fans, 1st one between rack 1&2. The 2nd between rack 3 and 4.. OH, and 7' height!! Ill do everything else myself.. 🤪🤪😁 Mark (Hoobilly)

I like the looks of that new Little Guy camper but I just don't see how those little cowbell vents are large enough for the AC without some kind of additional duct fan. And are they both exhaust vents or is one air intake and the other one exhaust? It just looks like it is really choking down the cooling efficiency of the AC unit.

Fun to see this as a former owner of a bare bones Little Guy 2006. Pros: Adzel and incorporating 90-degree angles on the gutters at the bottom. Those old curves, plus wood sides, made for impossible wood rot issues. Nu-camp windows and doors are a huge improvement. I love the extra width and like the galley simplicity (although most “off-roaders” aren’t going to be using instapots and air fryers). Cons: way too much electronics. AC and TV take up a lot of real estate. A TV outside???? Also not a fan of the bright white LED lights inside and out. Inside table for remote work? Meh. No way are you doing that in a teardrop. Maybe in a Tab, but in a small rig like this one you’re going to lose your mind shuffling around stuff. Absent a lot of the electronic mod cons I’d take a more serious look.
This is a great breakdown. I don't heart comments very often. You nailed it. As for the workstation, I've always felt like you. But I'm changing my tune a little bit. I believe if you are a couple or a family I just don't think they're practical. I've tried it and just find it to be a hassle. But when I was in Oregon by myself using the arrow teardrop, I use that workstation everyday and I was surprised how ergonomic it was. And when you're alone there really isn't that much shuffling or it didn't feel like much shuffling anyways
Looks like this really ticks the boxes for us. I love the 50/50 split option which relieves my husband's concern about rainy days. My big Q-- Little Guy when dark for a bit this summer and -- are they really back to stay? Can the brand be trusted when apparently they have shut down and re-opened twice now?
That's a great question and I wish I addressed this during the video. I completely forgot about it when I released this. There's been so many companies going in the dark this summer. I'm losing track. If I have my information right, I think Joe has done this numerous times before. He gets in a bit of a bind moves Manufacturing locations, goes under a different parent company name, he usually finds a way to resurface somewhere again. I'm crossing my fingers that he'll be able to do the same with this. Little guys an iconic company and I would hate to see them disappear

The actual MSRP is quite higher. Why the price is so low as many of these RV dealerships that carry this trailer are having fire sales. Sounds like you've done your homework, you realize that this is much lower price than it probably should be
I like the changes. However, like the drop floor and window in the Vistabule teardrop better. The bed folds into a couch, and instead of facing the storage shelves you’re looking out of a huge window. Also, I wouldn’t need the tv. I use my iPad if I want to watch a movie.

Some things I like. A bit wide for me. Don't need TV and AC. Would like heat of some kind. With solar, I'd want a fridge. I like a wider storage box up front. What is ground clearance with drop floor? If cooking on outside shelf, does it get too hot for the trailer? My old Five Wide has more room for stuff in the galley. Is there a weight limit in the galley? My galley sags in the middle. I like the tables and stand on fenders. Does the mattress stick up above the bottom of the doors? Will the water stay in the tank while moving over bumpy roads? If pitch drips on the solar, can it be cleaned off?
Coming from an actual trailer owner, you can tell you've lived the life. These are great questions and concerns. Love this!!!!

Hi There. Have you seen or heard of the German made Miniatouring trailers? I'd like to hear your opinion. They have 2 models. A mini M22 and a slightly larger M24 teardrop. What's cool is the pull our kitchen. They also offer a drop floor.
I have not heard of it. I typically don't look into a European manufacturer unless they are importing into the States. Do you know if they have a plan to bring it to the North American market?
@@PlayingwithSticks I've asked. I like the pull out kitchen concept. Seen it in other trailers. Makes for a lot more storage space inside (above the kitchen). Also, as a wheelchair user, I find the rear kitchens to be too high. A pull out kitchen is also on the same side as an awning and near the door.
I'd love a whole video on windows. Windows (and screen doors) are so so important to me and having the most natural light but can handle 3 seasons
That is a good idea. Essentially, here's the quick video. Best Windows are eurostyke windows that use dual pane acrylics for increased insulation. the most expensive out of North America are Arctic tern, but there are many Chinese versions that these companies are using that work great. All of these windows have the ability to protect from most rain, bug screen, reflective blackout screen, and the ability to open them up. I like having one large one on the trailer as well to be used as an egress

Definitely need a scaled down model. Great ergonomic design features but has too many bells and whistles.

I get that. We did the condo life as well. Definitely has its trade-offs
What is your opinion of the air conditioners that are enclosed in cabinetry? I would be concerned about proper cooling of what would normally be outside. Also, how is the condensation issue dealt with? A/C units drip a lot, especially in humid weather - where does the water go?
That's a great question about the ACs. Historically what I've heard from many companies that have done this is that they did have a lot of problems at. Like you saw in our camp in walkthrough with Jerry, the ACs were having a short cycle problem. But over time they usually dial it in with the proper ventilation and direction of the airflow.
And that's a really good question about the condensation, I'm hoping somebody jumps in here because I've never used a trailer with AC

Interesting offer from litte guy. I like the running water but a dry option makes sense. The fkexible interior is awesome a living room set up is high on my list with a work table. The oops on awning channel is a big oops. I really like it overall also think CampInn Ulta 560 is incredible. I prefer to sit and see outside and the ac cow bells give me pause for adequate air flow. I’m on the fence. They sure pack in the flashy bells and whistles. This is the first I have seen put the ac in the wall like my retro jr had venting out the “cowbells” I put red night lights in mine. I also removed the ac and added shelves switches for chargers and lights.
The 2” storage under floor seems about useless to me, except the small one by the door for keys and wallet, which I leave in the camper anyway while at camp. I like the running water. The box on the front is two big for me. I would run a smaller tank refilled mine every 3 years battery’s can be moved under the curve and two length wise across, this gives more space on tongue for another small to mid size box. Oh the fuse box should be moved to the galley.

As far as the tv. I always wish I had one in the retro I had however, in retro spect, we had really bad weather once where we watched videos on a portable dvd player waiting out an all day storm. At the coast. Anyway skip the tv, get a tablet and or portable dvd player, uses less power as well, it can be used in the camper around camp or in the tow vehicle. It is a good thing with two autistic boys under 10. In fact we have a pair of both.
As always sharp interview love you two pros on teardrops so much info...but in cdn bucks. Ouch 31000 usd....seems excessive even with increased supply costs.
Glad to hear you're enjoying join the videos .I'm thinking maybe you're looking up the MSRP. That was the price recently, but with all the fire sales within the large RV industry, this trailer is going between $14, 000 to $17000 and then typically at most of them it's about $19,000 us
I know you do not deal in rumors. At this point in time people cannot get in contact with the company and RV dealers are selling their stock, as is, no warranty. As someone who owns one of their trailers , Mini Max. I love the size and look ( tow with a SUV and bright inside) of my trailer compared to what I was seeing on lots. But they are not / were not addressing simple issues and not doing a simple inspection before moving their trailers on to lots. Trying to get warranty work done depended on who answered the request. I do not know if it is a case of wanting to grown too fast , poor management or what but I would not be buying these right now. They need to sort themselves out.

I've watched lots of video's and I think some of the smaller ones could be customized to fit the smaller tow vehicles. By the way I love your channel. The video's are awesome. I would be interested in what you think about them.
I do understand peoples nitpicks with this. However, I’m about to be homeless here in California and live in a tent so I think this sounds fantastic compared to my options. Lol. I’ve been looking at my options and I have not really considered a teardrop but one of my biggest issues is that my truck won’t tow much so I would need a new vehicle- but I like my truck and it’s paid for and I have actually lived in a tent in Yosemite for months at a time in the winter so I am not averse to the situation, I’m actually looking forward to the challenge. I work for the US Forest Service and I don’t get paid enough to pay rent in my county. 😮🫥💪 I’m going to look further into this. Thanks Drew.

As you mentioned, I think the sitting sleeping conversion capability is great for one person, but not for two. We really liked the idea of "Cocktail Mode" on our Colorado Teardrops Canyonland, when we bought it. However, after two years we never used that functionality. It was just too much effort to make the conversions for us. But, the fifty-fifty split would be great for a solo camper/traveler. The under bed storage was another thing that seemed great at purchase time. I did put stuff there, but since it involved lifting the mattress and the floor panel(s) I would forget what I had stashed there. To add to your overall weight of the trailer conversation. Remember that every gallon of water is 8.4 pounds, so 10 gallons is 84 pounds.
As always things can be just right for some, and not for others. I would have liked to see him stretched out on the mattress though.
Yeap, I think it is one of those things that looks good on paper. We have a square drop where you can fold the bed up and have a couch along one side and a small fold up table on the other. 99.9% of the time it stays with it in bed configuration. The only time we used it in couch configuration with the table up is when I had a job interview retuning from a camping trip and my wife hung out in the camper parked in the parking lot.
Thank you for breaking this down, I love hearing teardrop owners hop in the conversation because you've lived the life. Also, I have to say it was such a bummer to see Colorado Teardrops step down. I always appreciate a manufacturer that focuses on building teardrops for families.

I'm with you on the fan. As for the galley, I'm not too concerned because it's just the cabinet faces. The entire galley itself is composite and impervious to water
It is nice, but is it worth the price? My Modern Buggy has most of those same features ( mi is the in floor table, which I wouldn’t use personally, and is a lot less money. They use Azdel as well but the fit n finish and quality is t there, but it’s not bad and a lot less money. I am removing the A/C unit and the 11 gallon water tank and water pump so make room for more storage and use water jugs. We don’t need the A/C in Michigan.
I like your style! I would remove those as well, but I get that's not for everyone
I would rather see more storage up than under the mattress. I like the pared down galley but would like to see some tie offs so that other cooking gear can be secured during transport. A couple of D rings. For this weight, I would want more usable storage. This has some very good frame and shell components but the overall is just meh for me.

This 👆. Get rid of that huge air conditioner and tv, give me a cabinet for clothing and a propex heater for winter camping. Summers in the northwest are quickly becoming to smoky and hot for comfort. Winter camping is far better. Good heater, clothing, shelter, and a fire, plus snow = awesome!!!

Way more add ons than I would want, and my Subaru wouldn't tow it. So a definite no for me.

There are two different dealerships if you Google it that are offering it between 14 and 17,000. There are a number of dealerships in the large RV Network that are having fire sales right now. Many of them typically have trouble getting rid of these small campers because most people who go to the large RV dealership are looking for large RVs
I'm thinking you may need something to hold the cabinets doors closed, they might open while driving...Not sure.
That's pretty common with a lot of these trailers, but I haven't heard anything about little guy trailers or tag trailers in a long time, so I'm guessing they probably dialed it in. Not saying little guy and tag are the same company, but they have pretty similar designs

Hmmm, what almost 2,000 lbs for a teardrop, have they lost their mind?? I can imagine the price is sky high too. And who wants the water and associated problems, winterizing, etc on a teardrop. Get the Camp In. Or, better yet the Road Toad that is so much lighter and versatile, AND a great price.

Every time I see one of these type trailers I always ask myself where do you put your dirty shoes after crawling in to sleep. Be nice if this was addressed by manufactures already. It’s like they don’t actually use the things they design. It’s all hype and marketing. And I agree about all the things. For example, In this day and age we don’t need audio systems built in. Anyone who wants it can get a portable Bluetooth speaker for little cost.
That's a great point about the shoes. I just purchased a new teardrop and slept in it for the first time this weekend. My first order of business after a muddy night is coming up with a shoe solution

I think you might be right. I've heard that from a few comments, and I think I heard it myself and completely forgot.
I would like a model with no water on board, no stove on board, no a/c, no television, no stuck on solar panels, that should to after market. I like the storage area, but lighting up, no wood covers. Can you use the same material as walls or even waffled plastic. Just my two cents.
I'm right with you there. I do like having the solar panels installed on site, because that's one less hole I have to drill into my trailer. That one always makes me a little tense before I make that plunge cut 😂

FYI, your camping neighbors don't want to listen to nor watch your outdoor tv or exterior speakers. Manufacturers should save us all money by discontinuing these external tv mounts. Same with people showing movies outdoors. Very intrusive and inconsiderate.
It's only inconsiderate if the TV or movies are extremely loud.

I was really hoping a teardrop would be an affordable rv for a nubi. Nope same prices as under 26' fully equipped bumper pull. Then the only folks they will get are the younger off loading obsessed. Limiting your customer base is not a successful plan unless you've quadrupled the price. Yeah no thanks.
That is NOT a Silver Shadow. The Silver Shadow was elegant and classic in style. That is essentially just a cookie cutter teardrop shape. It’s a real shame Little Guy and NuCamp split company!

@@ctuan13 "Pleasant Valley Trailer" manufactured trailers for the company "Little Guy". They split maybe about 2016? PVT became NuCamp. They got the T@G and the T@B plus their truck trailers. Little Guy purchased Parkliner and I believe Scotti trailers. They stopped making their little teardrops while they regrouped and decided how to proceed forward. They came back with the LG Max & Mini, and now the Silver Shadow. While they are still making teardrops, they don't resemble the old ones that they made in the past. I don't know if they did anything with a revival retro re-issue of a Scotti trailer or the status of the Parkliner(Scamp type trailer). I wish them well but they had great teardrops back then. It was a shame that they split.

@@PlayingwithSticks I do apologise if my comment was a little negative. Little Guy always had my back in regards to customer service when I owned my Little Guy 6 wide. They went above and beyond in customer service if I ever had a problem. I am sure they make a great product now, but the nostalgic and iconic LG 5, wide, 6 wide and the Silver Shadow were the very affordable standards a few years back. I guess those little trailers are missed.

NuCamp Tag. NICE! I also think the price is fair. (edit here: I thought NuCamp TAG before I got to the end of the video. lol Yeah I want ALL composite ZERO wood, and don't need running water, tank etc. I've created a portable galley that fits inside my tow vehicle under the cap/topper in the bed etc. Don't need the TV, never did care for the center-mounted Air, I prefer them down on the frame and farther back towards the tongue like some other brands have done etc. GREAT offering for the price though I cannot argue that.
Too heavy, no floor on tongue box WTF?, mattress looks too thin and does not look like can accommodate a thicker one. Also, roof rack and awning track what a FAIL!
