Hey thank you so much for the video. I couldn’t understand why the coudfront distribution gave a 502 error when you invoked it using the couldfront distribution url and it only worked when you crated alias A record from your your hosted zone in R53?
Hello Adarsh, basically, when you are accessing the ALB by using CloudFront only, you are using a wrong domain name and ALB will refuse the connection on port 443. When you'll access the ALB through CloudFront and the right domain, in my case using Route 53, it will work, because you are using a correct domain. I was not able to find anything specific about this in CloudFront official documentation. This will also only happen if you are using HTTPs for connection between CloudFront and ALB.
Hello Sir, I really appreciate your efforts to explain each and everything. I followed along with you I had a similar setup as yours but with some other configurations. The things are as follows: 1) An ec2 instance for wordpress website 2) An ALB for the ec2 instance(yes I know it might sound a bit odd to have an ALB for one instance but we plan to include more ec2 instance later). 3) I have a cloudfront distribution. 4) Route53 Problem: When I try to do route53 step to create an A record alias to cloudfront distribution there was no option coming up for my cloudFront distribution. I don't have an SSL certificate as I have my domain name registered from google domains.(or do we even need to create a custom ssl for this? ). Apart from this I don't have an auto scaling group. An the load balancer target group shows me that health status as health check failed. I want to make my wordpress website fast using cloudfront. but I just can't find the missing piece in this.
