It's my saviour video. Thanks a lot. I have a small question. At 5:11 minutes can I give /* instead of /index.html? If so what would be the result if I give that way?

Hello, Raj. I was wondering whether there is another option to redirect to https in AWS except this load balancer. In my perspective, using a load balancer for a single instance makes no sense. A load balancer costs approximately $16 to $20 per month. So, is there another method to accomplish the same thing in AWS?
Created below notes out video Steps: AWS Load Balancer HTTPS Setup with Route 53 and Certificate Manager & HTTP Redirect to HTTPS ============================================================================================ Application is deployed in ec2 instance -> Cross check by hitting endpoint of application using public ipv4 address of ec2 instance Create target group and attach the above ec2 instance so we can attach this target group to the load balancer. Create application load balancer by adding SG and listeners(http:80), then Cross check by hitting DNS name of ALB so it should be returning back response from ec2 web server Now, in order to use custom IP address for our application We have to first register domain under Domains section under Route 53 and important point is make sure all the name server are present as is in hosted zones so selected Registered IP address under hosted zones and create record (for simple routing policy) by selecting ALB type , region and your ALB created Now Cross check by hitting your custom domain name in browser should be returning back response from ec2 web server! Still site is not secure and padlock is not yet come, so its time to add AWS certificate Go to AWS certificate manager and Request public certification by providing fully qualifies domain name then create record in Route 53 so this will validates we own this domain so it will create CNAME entry in hosted zones IP address (nothing to do with anything with traffic) then add another listeners in ALB for HTTPS:443 entry by selecting target group and SSL certificate from ACM Now Cross check by hitting your custom domain name in browser should be returning back response from ec2 web server! and with SSL Padlock, Voilà now we should also forward HTTP:80 requests to HTTPS:443 in order to to this just update the listeners rules for the HTTP:80 in ALB Also we you want to open you domain with "www."yourdomain As usual, Registered IP address under hosted zones and create record (for simple routing policy) by providing www as subdomain, selecting ALB type , region and your ALB created. Many Thanks Rajdeep for create such good content for free❤
Hi raj, Good day to you !! I am not able to set certificate to one of application is deployed in server . Please let me know What I am wrong in doing ?? Thanks for support in advance!! Best Regards, Chinnayya Chintha
I am an issue when i install let's encrypt SSL on my webserver. It is running with Nginx as a reverse proxy server + an was EBL over this . Cloudflare a type record pointing to a listner IP. Errror:Exceeded maxRedirects. Probably stuck in a redirect loop . Have anybody faced such an issue?
I NEED HELP. My website isn't available after doing 8:30 although the public IP works and DNS domain works. The new registred domian doesn't work. I also made sure the name servers match the hosted zone. Anyone can help?
This was a great walkthrough. I attempted this using only AWS docs yesterday and ended up in a loop between the load balancer and target. This was super helpful! Thanks.
Thank you the video is very useful I have question if i want to route two EC2 instance traffic which is running on same port via same loadbalancer with https How can we do ?
I am facing a strange issue with this setup. I have a webpage that servs a simple form that collects emails and the form submit method is POST. On submitting the form in the https website, I get a 403 response from the load balancer. On the other hand http works just fine. What could be the issue?
Sir, You are making the real required videos for professionals. On You tube generic videos are available for how the service works as default which is ok for beginner. But for Intermediate professional your videos are needed for the challenges they face during work or designing something.. As you are the architect you understood the pain. Kudos to your work.
Why it is so difficult to deploy HTTPS server in AWS? There needs Cubernates, ELB, Certificate Manager, S53? Why I can`t easily import KEY, CERT from AWS and use it in my server to establish secure connection only with S53 and EC2?
Thanks Raj this is really helpful. I just want to make a recommendation, can you please slow down a little bit and explain some concepts especially to new users of the AWS. Thank you and God bless
how about setting up a static website with cloudfront and certificate? my static website is http only (still procrastinating to turn it into cloudfront lol) and still remember having a bit of hard time to understand I needed another empty s3 bucket to handle the www part, the dynamics are a bit strange. I would take this further, a website with dynamic + static content + cloudfront (better experience for the user) + SSL, I suppose this last one is a common requirement everywhere.
Thank you Raj , i followed the demo and all worked fine except the point i was able to access the ALB via http using ALB DNS name, how can we disable or secure that , ?
With SSL redirect activated on ALB, does SSL terminate at ALB? Is there a switch to not terminate and make the traffic from ALB to Apache server HTTPS?
Hi Raj, great video! have one question ->what is the standard approach to manage SSL certificate provisioning and reload(on expiry) on Nginx server running on EC2 in the same architecture??

hello, how can i use cloudflare instead of R53 to have a custom domain name for the ALB dns and have an SSL certificate on it
It's my saviour video. Thanks a lot. I have a small question. At 5:11 minutes can I give /* instead of /index.html? If so what would be the result if I give that way?
Always superior content from Raj. I recommend his Udemy courses highly.
Ty Glenn for your support as always
Thank you so much, this tutorial still works in 2024!
Glad it helped!

Concise, precise and upto the point. I like this teaching style.
not working sir when use load bounser is woking when put domain name not working.
Any solution?
I notice that you're using an internet-facing ALB with SSL termination at the ALB. How is the security maintained from the ALB to the target group?
Thank you so much Raj, I really appreciate the video
how to restrict alb to accept only traffic from route 54 ? I am I dont anybody to use alb address publicly
Created below notes out video
Steps: AWS Load Balancer HTTPS Setup with Route 53 and Certificate Manager & HTTP Redirect to HTTPS
============================================================================================
Application is deployed in ec2 instance -> Cross check by hitting endpoint of application using public ipv4 address of ec2 instance
Create target group and attach the above ec2 instance so we can attach this target group to the load balancer.
Create application load balancer by adding SG and listeners(http:80), then Cross check by hitting DNS name of ALB so it should be returning back response from ec2 web server
Now, in order to use custom IP address for our application
We have to first register domain under Domains section under Route 53 and important point is make sure all the name server are present as is in hosted zones
so selected Registered IP address under hosted zones and create record (for simple routing policy) by selecting ALB type , region and your ALB created
Now Cross check by hitting your custom domain name in browser should be returning back response from ec2 web server!
Still site is not secure and padlock is not yet come, so its time to add AWS certificate
Go to AWS certificate manager and Request public certification by providing fully qualifies domain name then
create record in Route 53 so this will validates we own this domain so it will create CNAME entry in hosted zones IP address (nothing to do with anything with traffic)
then add another listeners in ALB for HTTPS:443 entry by selecting target group and SSL certificate from ACM
Now Cross check by hitting your custom domain name in browser should be returning back response from ec2 web server! and with SSL Padlock, Voilà
now we should also forward HTTP:80 requests to HTTPS:443
in order to to this just update the listeners rules for the HTTP:80 in ALB
Also we you want to open you domain with "www."yourdomain
As usual, Registered IP address under hosted zones and create record (for simple routing policy) by providing www as subdomain, selecting ALB type , region and your ALB created.
Many Thanks Rajdeep for create such good content for free❤
Thanks a bunch!

So there is no point in using cloudfront between load balancer and route 53 except that it is a cdn?
Excelente video, gracias, al fin pude configurar correctamente mi dominio con su certificado SSL.

Excellent video! Helped me figure out my problem with Route53 / ACM certs!
I NEED HELP. My website isn't available after doing 8:30 although the public IP works and DNS domain works. The new registred domian doesn't work. I also made sure the name servers match the hosted zone. Anyone can help?
What should i do to connect my backend which running on port 80 and my ALB running on HTTPS 443? Its not making connection to my backend
This was a great walkthrough. I attempted this using only AWS docs yesterday and ended up in a loop between the load balancer and target. This was super helpful! Thanks.

After adding https & certificate. If I browse to my website via the load balancer dns name. It complains about certificate and says unsafe.
save me!!!
Thank you so much It's Really helps, keep posting buddy
Thanks!

Does AWS provided custom certificate, we will the get the certificate to update on client facing security device.
but I am the 502 error; the request couldn't be satisfied. at elb to cloudfront
Great video, would the http port still be accessible to the public ipv4 address on the ec2 instance?
At 1:25 the flow looks like R53 is forwarding the traffic to ELB But it doesn't
i am unable to pass the health check for target group , can you please help me with this
step missing , getting error -VPC is required, near 5.10
Do we really need two Listeners? Isn't it possible to redirect using a ListenerRule?
how can i auto scalin group for this please ? i mean if ive an app in production but auto scalin asks for template
You are amazing Raj. This cleared me millions of doubts and i feel boosted now. You are a gem
