Have to say, they’re amazing, seen them live, they’re destined for a bright future, during their live shows they show charm and charisma, they want to be something but they also have the talent to back it. Even though bono is Eli’s father he still is trying something different from U2 which is great. What I love most about them is that they try to make their music like the influences they have (stone roses, joy division), and take that Manchester style and make it into their own Dublin style, make it their own. As of yesterday they were announced for the countdown gig in Dublin, this is great cause this, in my opinion is the point where they could make it big time, let’s hope they can, they are amazing 🙌🏻
Oh exactly! When I met them I was convinced of that, they're so honest and down to earth (I loved Eli's answer to my elephant in the room question!). They'll get the stick for a while I'm sure, but as you say, they're establishing themselves as something different to U2. And yes, their charisma is incredible. Just complete pros. Definitely going far.
I objectively really like what I've heard of the band, and Eli's voice is amazing. I really admire how graciously he takes the question about his dad. From what we've seen Bono's kids all seem amazingly grounded and sweet. As a lifelong u2 fan it's fun to see the new generation come up and impress.
They are such an incredible band. All of their songs deserve to be heard and appreciated. Such an amazing group that brings happiness by their music in my life. I hope they will obtain their goals in life because they deserve so.
I told my friends that their song It Won't Always Be Like This sounds like a young Bono. This video revealed to me that Eli is Bono's son! Crazy! Love their music. Very excited for them and hope to see them in the States alongside Fuzzy Sun, Fontaines DC, Shame, Etc.
Football Rebel I love that you didn’t know! I rate them much higher than Fontaines DC - they *COULD* try to be a copy of U2 but they don’t even try (except as you say, It Won’t Always Be Like This is very Bono sounding)
jon they all will be - if that’s what they want :) it was pretty awesome watching them perform, it felt like we were watching the start of something really rather great. They’re a very tight group and it’s mind blowing to think they’re all only 18-19.
@@EssentiallyPop thanks how about does eli plan on touching on christianity like bono does or are they afraid to tackle that subject.......2, i thought i heard eli say they met at saint johns,i wonder why eli didnt go tomount temple like bono and eli.
thankyou2532 unfortunately I don’t know the answers to those questions! I would guess that Eli has had a strong faith-based upbringing, given his mother’s faith in particular. The school question might come down to location as much as anything, as he lives in Killiney, whereas Bono grew up on the northside I believe.
@@EssentiallyPop thanks for your replies, i didnt realize ali hewson was perceived as having more faith than bono as they both went to shalom bible church in 1979-1981 and their are videos of bono endorcing eugene petersons message bible and it being a consistant theme throuh all u2 albums,,,,,i cringed when you asked eli about bono becouse i think celebrities children dont want to be perceived as getting a job through nepotism and not earning it.
thankyou2532 I know, I felt it was important to ask though, and his response was brilliant, and really shows how far he and the rest of the band are going to go. The thing is that the press always make that point about his father, and Bono does go to all their shows - he, The Edge, and Bono’s brother were all at the gig that night - so I made a point of asking one quick question about it and the rest was about them and their music.
JOSH SHAKING HIS LEGS DURING THE INTERVIEW WHILE SMILING IS THE CUTEST THING EVER 🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧🤧❤❤❤❤
I watch this two years later and wow... they've come so far 😍

Someone tell them they’ve performed in a sold out ARENA in Dublin
I wonder if they could have even imagined it back when we did this interview!

Bono's son looks just like him when he was young and the guy in the middle looks like a young Edge.
