Protip: There are F1-F20 keys. Most programs don't use the ones above F12, some do. Be careful! You can set shortcuts to the unused F keys.
could I buy a cheap numberpad and do that? reassign the keys to FN keys and do the macros that I want?
@@Lorennaa In theory? Maybe? It would depend on if the number pad would let it be recognized as different, and if they keys were separated out on input. There may be software that would let you modify the input per key on a usb device as well... interesting thought.
@@Lorennaa yes.
On Mac you can use Karabiner-Elements to remap the numkeys on specific keyboard, without affecting numpad in other regular ones.
On Windows I don't know if you can specify the keyboard to remap because I haven't had the need to. If you don't care to have a working numpad (across all the connected keyboards), then you can do the remap either modifying the registry directly (there's an easy and safe tool to do the changes called "SharpKeys") or using AutoHotkey which will allow you to do more complex automations than the simple remap.
I loved this video it was so detailed and helpful definitely gonna look back at this when I purchase a kit
Amazing tutorial and step by step! Thanks for the relevant links in description as well ... I guess this is my next side project hhahha. Would love to see tutorials on all of the cool programs this device can run!
Ooo first video on the channel! Well done!
SHE ACTUALLY UPLOADED!!!!! A day to remember
Perfect guide that shows the kinds of steps needed.
Talaa, i love your video!🥰 U inspire and motivate me so much. Keep on with the good work!!💓💓
Good job. Very detailed, straight to the point. The music was pretty chill too.
Love your videos. Keep it up! 👍🏼
I think using those extra function keys is an AWESOME idea 👍!
Thanks for the guide!
Loved this ! Please make more RUclips videos like this :) I found you from TikTok!
This was really cool! You did a great job! Thank you for sharing with us!
Tala, congratulations on your first RUclips build tutorial! 👏👏👏 You presented it so nicely, and your video looks really polished and professional. Great project, too, with an interesting mix of hardware assembly and software configuration. Hmm, if you bought your soldering iron at Canadian Tire, you must be studying in Canada! 😍🇨🇦🏒🥌 I did my MMath and PhD at the University of Waterloo in Ontario. As a transplanted American, I was shocked when I learned that Canadian Tire sells more than just tires! 😆 Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I enjoy your content. Keep up the great work, Tala! 👍👍
Thank you so much for your kind words!!! I'm studying not too far from Waterloo :)
@@talaexe Tala, do you have a favorite area of computer science? If you like artificial intelligence, you can do machine learning on tiny devices like Raspberry Pi computers and microcontrollers. O'Reilly has a whole book about it called "TinyML". For example, the Pico/RP2040 microcontroller is actually powerful enough to run ML models that recognize faces, gestures, and voice commands! 👧👋🗣️
Thank you, i have been looking for something like this for a while
Cool vid!! Really interested how you made the Spotify macropad
Definitely subbed to learn more 😊
I'm a compsci enthusiast, wanted to double major in Econ and Compsci but they don't do that for the top ones in the UK... Brushing up on the side and potentially postgrad 🤷
Carry on!
I met the 1UP Keyboard people at Comic Con and they were great. Got a kit from them there and would totally recommend them to anyone. Great video
The videography tho😍😍
your voice is extremely calm and satisfying, it's like ASMR human voice
Great work!
Nice video!
LOVE THIS!!!
Awwww mylan youre so sweet
Nice video, well done, thanks for sharing :)
Nice project
You're so creative! Hope you decide to come back to making more videos
solid video. Definitely would recommend next time making it hot swappable for switches.
The result looks great!
Could you please upload the video of how you build the rfid spotify scanner? It would be so useful for me right now 🙏🙏
It’s up!!:)
Cool project
AMAZING
Wow! Good job young lady.👍🏻
Hey, great work 👏. quick question...are you able to share the word document with the logos for the keycaps? cheers
wooo cool! I found you on tiktok and I love this work! I'll copy you👀
I’m ur biggest fan😫😫❤️
😘😘😘😘
Subscribed 😊
can u do more like that? its pretty nice ;)
The people have spoken….and the people want more! Great vid! Great project!
thank you!!!!
Nice video. My only criticism is you didn’t explain what program you used to design your key caps on the relegendable keys.
Nice!
Im an aerospace eng major and hopefully compsxi minor. I love tampering with hardware. Can you make a video about the supplies you have please? I would love to get some and I dont know where to start.
About launching apps, you know that Win Key + 1...0 will open one of 10 apps that are pinned to taskbar, right? :)
It seems like the micro controller is out of stock. Are there any alternatives I can go for? I'm really new to all of this stuff so a link to a product or the full name of one would help me find one to buy. Thanks in advance!
That Amazing
You could just make a free touch deck with an esp32 and a TFT Display Which looks much nicer and easier you only have to sotter a few wires
Generally best to solder the lowest profile parts like diodes first.
hi!! this is an amazing video and i was wondering if you had any ideas on how to get a keyboard like this in australia? the 1up website said the shipping was unavailable to my region :(
search for "void9 macropad" github repo and check that one out, you can buy everything locally/on amazon since it doesn't require a PCB :)
I would try and print on gloss paper. Might look a bit sharper
Can you share the keycaps layout please?
Can this function like a Hak5 USB Rubber Ducky where it can output a string of text? Or is it just a keyboard and the macros are done in software?
Do you need the software to run on the computer while using the macros or just to program them. Im searching for a macropad that doesnt require a software to run.
what made you switch/want to switch to mac from windows?
Could you set it to macros? SO instead of using those function keys maybe have the input be multipe inputs? This way you avoid accidentally hitting those keys while you type?
God I wish I can buy it in Australia. Ship it to here would totally kill the budget
is it possilbe to add screens instead of printing the keycaps?
How did you make that wireless one from tiktock? Is that custom too?
Where can I printout the legends for the key caps?
does it connect via Bluetooth or can you connect it with a USB? You make really good content and I hope you keep uploading!
Thank you so much, definitely have more videos coming soon! & sadly it can’t be connected via Bluetooth, just micro-usb
Hey just came across this video while building one for myself for Windows. Any idea how to program a mute/unmute mic button. I see you have one for your Mac Os but do you know if it is possible for windows? Thanks
That should be easy. Set the key command to mute in via or program the mute key code in QMK.
is there an option to make it wireless?
hey how i’m having trouble connecting the micropad to the computer.
Can I bug a pre-built one?
Maybe its a dumb question but it that wireless ?
is there a similar program in windows plz?
"Welcome to the 5 minute crafts, everyone can do at home! So, let's begin, let's pull out our industrial grade CNC machine and a 3D printer"
I sometimes forget that unlike on Linux, on Mac you don't have an easy way to create keyboard shortcuts for this sort of thing. Neat "DIY" Build though !
How can I find the clear caps?
problem with these is the programming. I'm building my own but with an ESP32 over bluetooth and a macro creator and profile editor hosted on a webserver on the ESP32.
why? when you have tiles in start menu.
at 0:23 is that wireless numpab? whats the model?
Can you reupload this video with audio?
Pretty neato :D Was looking into making something custom for a launcher cx However, I do have some critiques of you video. Try investing into a pop-filter to avoid those breaths and sharp consonants. Other than that, awesome video!
makes me think of a optimus maximus keyboard
Hey, i wanted to purchase one but the keycaps are out of stock, any ideas? Thanks!
Hey! The switches I used work for any MX keycaps, or you could search for "relegendable keycaps" and buy them somewhere else
Молодець, мені подобається, що детально все показано.
abla ayakkabı numaran kaç?
Solder paste. Use it. Also, can we get married?
The big flaw with these simple macropads is that you'll have to switch keycaps every time you switch applications.. After having lots of DIY macropads I finally got a streamdeck..
I hope you have ventilation. Don’t solder with that fume going towards your face
It's like 210usd for 75% keyboard 😕
if i buy a lego set does this count a diy ;)
amazing video, but voice is too low
เก่งจัง
Know how to do a macropad, dosnt know how to normalize video audio to 0 db :(
(Select all audio, right click, select "audio gain", "normalize auido level to 0db")
Good luck but i think it approve better than
Lol I just bought a $20 board from aliexpress. Way cheaper than stream deck ffs.
It is not DIY. You just assemble kit
It's both, you sad person.
You “Do It Yourself” though, so yes the assemble kit is a DIY.
where is her face?
I understand the desire to make something simply because you can, but a larger keyboard would do all of these things for you without any real effort.
Assemble everything together? What the heck is that? Assemble means to put together! Kinda redundant don't you think? Dumb.
