There is something so powerful and otherworldly about the score for this film. It's a timeless epic piece of cinema music.

Hans Zimmer said that when he wrote the score for Interstellar, he tried to combine the essence of science and mystery, to give people a sense of reaching for the ultimate unknown. Which works very well with the film - it is a space sci-fi, but by dealing with the theory of relativity and black holes, it reaches a dimension that can only be understood as religious mysticism.

Until 2:44 - You're working, studying, planning, saving, eating fruits to save money, giving your blood and living as you're going to live forever. You have only 4 hours every 15 days to do something to refill your energy.
Until 2:44 you were losing everything, family, friends, the love of your life, because you had only one shot to change everything and you wouldn't miss it. For 5.5 years you lost your own birthday parties to work, christmas, new years, your friends' and girlfriends' birthdays - even though you showed you loved them and they understood you had to work, with time you lost them all. 5.5 years of being addicted to the idea of changing your future...
Then 2:45 comes. You achieved your goal. You changed your whole future. You cry of relief, of happiness, for knowing you won't ever be homeless again, you won't ever want to eat and not be able to afford it. It just cost you all the people you loved and somehow you're still happy... most of the time.
This song... It's peaceful and sad. It feels like the path is just ahead of us waiting to be followed. I expect only to get whatever I deserve... nothing more, nothing less.

Wrote this while listening and almost cried: "neither of us really paid attention to the conversation. Instead, we were staring up, at the moon. Up, at the reason life as we know it exists. Up, at the Mercury-sized mountain of rock floating a quarter of a million miles above us, hurling through space at 3 million meters a second. Up, at the one place mankind has ever escaped from the dying planet that gave life to us. Up, at the one place that could save this planet and everybody on it."

If you think bout it, if you were to watch this song on Miller's Planet, correct me if I'm wrong, and since, I think, every second that goes by on the ocean planet is 17 hours due to time dilation by Gargantua, and since this video is 8.5 minutes long, and times that by 60 seconds gets you 510 seconds, times that by 17 hours, sorry if im getting this wrong, it'd give you 8,670 seconds, or it'd be 361.25 days, or 98% of an Earth year. Think bout that, watching this video on Miller's Planet would be the same as almost spending an entire year on Earth. Incredible what time dilation can do and how weird space is.

I am amazed at how Hans Zimmer adapts and uses sound to create and shift emotion so seamlessly that I don't even notice I've been moved by the music until it's over, and although some parts of his tracks are a little repetitive I still praise him as being one of the most revolutionary movie sound artists of our time and his music creates inspiration outside of movies like he wouldn't believe. I truly love Hans Zimmer and make sure I see most of the movies he takes a part in. I also enjoy artists like Daniel Licht and his more discordant and mysterious creative style.

The thing I love about this piece of music is the fact that the atmosphere of it is unsettling. Like, something isn't right, and the truth, the horrible daunting truth is slowly coming at you, like a wave. The truth that those mountains in the distance aren't mountains, and that you're very much possibly going to die, because you're far too out to get back.

Now all that's left to do is make a mix that goes from the absolute least to the absolute most intense parts of the main theme. I don't know what song it can be titled as, except perhaps the "Interstellar Suite" but I think that the main part, or at least the end, would be the latter section of "Where We're Going."

Hans Zimmer has done all the way of man's destination as Hellenic history reveals...
Man...from man to hero...from hero to semigod... And from semigod to God!!!!
Many many years after we would have "left" this planet, this man will be remembered for this absolute masterpiece......
A divine testament for the explorers of the universe and not only...
What ever to write for this man is so less....
He should have won the Oscar and he should be honored. He has already taken the Oscar of immortality. For the intelligent he is the winner by far.........

I'm writing a book - a clear translation of the words of Isaiah, the prophet. While I translate and interpret I listen to selections like yours, which by the way , I enjoy very much. Thank you for your work. It is much appreciated. - N Tucker

Very well made. Tied up the greatest and most powerful tracks in a very smooth and satisfying way. Thank you for your work on this (very tedious I'm sure) project.

Hans Zimmer is brilliant!!! There is no other word for him, maybe genius, or a once in a lifetime artist would be an accurate definition aswell

Without question one of Hans Zimmer's Masterwerkes. It is Epic in its sonic grandeur, with the choral emphasis nearing the crescendo..... Admittedly, biased a LifeLong Zimmer fanatic, IMHO the Maestro of all Soundtrack composers, IMHO in the same irreverence as the beyond-Gifted Thomas Newman.... This piece stands out amidst Zimmer's incomparably emotive triumphs of soundtrack
composition. Brings oceans of tears of Elysium to mine eyes. Herzliche Vielen Danke Schon, Hans, AUSGESEICHNET 📽💎💞🎥 🌠⏳

This film is very similar to Contact(1997) with it's theories, concepts, and use of special relativity. Ironic because Matthew McConaughey also starred in that.

I think that the last part of NTFC is too short, can you do please a larger version? I mean the part that begins from 6.45 - 7.08 in my opinion is too short, probably it's one of my favourite parts!
