I absolutely adore this top! It is definitely a STYLE I truly like and it’s gorgeous on you! Thanks so much for sharing and I love how your new skills are blooming!😊
I am so proud of you!!! You wanted to learn draping and you are!! Question: (hope it's not a silly question)-once you trace the pattern on the tracing paper in the miniature form, what steps do you take to make it your size? If not able to answer directly, maybe another video showing the next steps. I am very impressed sissy 👏🏽👏🏽
Aww. Thank you so much. I have really been enjoying learning. It’s been fun. To make it my size, I do the exact same steps that I did on the mini dress, and I do those steps on the full sized form. I used the mini dress form to see if I would like the idea that I had in mind and to follow the same steps on the full form that I followed on the mini form. The mini form is my test run and gives me a chance to play with the design before I start draping on my full form. The mini gives me a guide as to how I want everything to look and how to get there. Not a silly question at all. Thanks for asking.
Awww. That is so sweet to say. Thank you so much. I am having fun draping and using my fabric scraps. Couldn’t wait to share the process. Thank you for watching. :)
Do you know the ratio of fabric used? It says half form but I’m wondering does it really take 1/2 yard for the mini form to make a one yard shirt? Amazing video 🤩
Hi. Thank you. I usually grab some scrap pieces of fabric and cut them up to get the pieces that I need for the mini form. As I’m thinking about your question though, I think you can use 1/2 yard for a one yard shirt, but I’m not 100% sure. Good question.
Your mini top is SO CUTE! You must be so happy with that actual top, too! The video was spellbinding. How impressive! I was wondering if you made a paper pattern, or just drew your lines on the fabric? Very cool!
Hi, Janis. Thank you so much. I love the little itty bitty garments that come off the mini dress form. I think they’re sooo cute too. For the full sized top I draped the fabric and drew lines on it in the exact same way that I did on the mini form. I didn’t make a paper pattern for the full sized top. Paper patterns are nice to have, however, especially if you want to make the garment again. Thank you for watching.
I don’t really take measurements. I just use the mini to drape a garment to get an idea of how it will look in full form. After I like the look on the mini, I’ll use a regular pattern and sew up what was draped on the mini, or sew something similar to what was draped on the mini.
I love your enthusiasm in the video! Yes! Your mini top is cute! Thanks for sharing the process! It was fun to see 🙂
Aw. Thank you so much. I’ve been enjoying the little bitty dress form, and I really appreciate you watching.
I love how you’ve been draping lately!

Hi. May I ask where did you purchase the stitch in the ditch foot?
I typically order feet from a Babylock dealer. If they don’t have a foot in the store, they can order it for you.
Ok. Thank you so much.🥰
You’re welcome.
Very good. Thank you

Beautiful top, great demo. I love that fabric. Is it still available?
Hi, Lucy. I believe the fabric is still available. I found it on clearance. Thank you so much.

Hello thank you! how do you go from the small form to the big form? Thank you.
You’re welcome. You can take your measurements and increase the fabric or the paper pattern accordingly.
@@Manecoarse Thank you!

How do you take the measurements on the mini mannequin to yours?
I don’t really take measurements. I just use the mini to drape a garment to get an idea of how it will look in full form. After I like the look on the mini, I’ll use a regular pattern and sew up what was draped on the mini, or sew something similar to what was draped on the mini.
@@Manecoarse i just recently bought a mini dress form and watched your video several times. Haha. Love it. Thanks for your help. 💜
