- TF2 is breaking! What is Valve currently doing? It seems items haven't been dropping for days now and a lot of the community is confused. In this video, we discuss current news in TF2 and the community surrounding it.

Thanks for the mention and the constructive criticism.
Our goal with talking about other groups such as a certain Esports corporation involved in TF2 is to address problems and prove we can solve those problems. However we may have arguably taken it a bit too far by simply straight insulting people with no actual problems solved, and going forward in the future we plan to keep more professional criticism.
For some background, we also plan to fix problems such as the queue system, leave penalties, overzealous anti-cheat, map rotation, and an overly competitive environment, and we want people to join us. For many months people were unaware other alternatives even existed, fortunately that is changing fast
Glad I could help, keep up the efforts I think it's awesome. Just make sure morals are in check as the community needs to work together as a team side by side. 💕

Hey if atleast it lets me queue up is already better than FaceIT. Made me download a fucking launcher that won't give me the fucking IP I need to connect to and tanks my performance

Valve did not spend a bit of time updating Team Fortress 2 but they spent a lot of time on upgrading chickens in CSGO.

The community has a problem wiht rasism and Homophobiks. That doesent mean that its a bad community. It has great people but tf2 is probably the game with the strongest toxic side. But im not trying to insult you. Tf2 is great.

MvM relased with small hints and literal radio silence over time so it can be something like that and Valve relase a song talking about how they are just afk over the time and sorry for it but I belive the song is just Valve is fucking with us and these updates may be just signs about how they will pull the plug out.

If you have premium item drops come every 30 minutes or so if you don't it comes every hour
I think that since Valve is ignoring TF2 and they're making money by not doing anything with it if we stop playing or giving them money they'll say "Oh this isn't making us money anymore, why even bother" and pull the plug.

They will realize that the only reason its not making money is because they are not fixing the bot problem and everything else in the game
Their not pulling the plug on the game. Their just working on some big projects. Ex:Half Life 3, DOTA 2, CSGO.

True, FaceIt only sometimes feels like a casual match. Today I had a FaceIt match where almost the whole team went medic, pretty fun
Faceit sorta feels like old 5cp games pre-meet your match update.

I know that valve is very secretive and mysterious but, i think that they need to communicate with their community from time to time.
Companies in general need to communicate with communities as much as they can, because it would help them a lot.

Nah, more likely either the item server got neglected for too long and they need to touch it up or they're messing around with stuff. Valve is still making way more money off the game then they're losing in server costs, they won't shut down TF2
They've been hands off on tf2 for YEARS. This isn't anything that strange.
So that explains why I didn't got a single drop the last weeks
I even started missing that shitty 2014 christmas community cases

At this point its either 1. Valve trying to kill tf2 by slowly crashing the game or 2. A possible rewrite of most of the spaghetti code that allowed the game to "work". Personally i would like it to be the second option, and its also the more likely of the two.

The item drop might either be a big, orrrr perhaps they *are* adding things and just don’t want to risk items dropping unintentionally, so they shut down the item drops for weapons, say, for new weapons that may be added with a future update. Definitely an optimistic view, but it’s one I like quite a bit

My guess is that a “global timer” of sorts overflowed and it went to the negatives so the item drops couldn’t reset your weekly drop max

I like to think that this could lead us into a good direction, cause remember, due to the spaghetti code, things won't work properly and if something is added it could brake something, as of right now, it's the weapon drops, to a lot of peoples suprise, Valve has been dealing with the bots, but its been secret, like minor changes, I doubt that the game could be slowly crumbling, because there still are "some" people working on the game, and Plus the community will continue to keep it alive, but look at it like this, if Valve did something that caused this, what could they be doing, it has to be a hint to something, why would they kill off a game that rakes in money? But just keep being optimistic and we might actually get an update in the future, big or small, it at least shows that they still care

@@bucket6988 that would be pretty could, and all they need to do is just port the codes from that. It would take less than a day for them.
@@DankDimensionMemes but this will not work, because even source code have some bits from goldsource so i think it will be alot harder then we think. And of cource dont forget optimization and bugs that need to be done and corrected.

I would say stop playing TF2 entirely until they fix the bot problem but then they'd assume no one wants to play it and just shut it down so I'm at a loss
The FACEIT so far has been great for me. I'm waiting for them to update it with more maps though.

I just play on community servers. Never ran into cheaters for awhile. Last time I saw one was like 5 months ago and they only lasted for 3-4 minutes before an admin joined and banned them.
No, Valve shouldn't pull the plug. Maybe give TF2 to another company.

honestly, it may just be something dumb like valve made the drop system drop these items from (start day) to (This day) and forgot to bump that day to further away when it got close.

OMG I thought this was just me, but I only dropped Cosmetic boxes/War paints, but even that felt decreased
atleast we still can have fun, and that is what matters more than the item drops
I am a brand new player to tf2. The only drop I have ever gotten is a southern hospitality, and winter crates. Being stuck on stock (excluding achievement items) is very frustrating for me.

I started playing like 3 days before all drops stopped working. I was trying to figure out why based on the information on the wiki. Had I reached the cap? But I'd gotten only 5 items. Was it because I had installed TF2 on a second computer? But I hadn't had both running at the same time. This afternoon I got item drops again, after going so far as to unplug the other computer. So probably I caused this, and later I'll see if I can hold TF2 random drops for ransom.
Idk about the drop system, I got an Ullapool Caber an hour ago. But everything else seems pretty crazy, heck, I think 31 Pyros lighting a Spy on fire is less hot then the burning community of TF2 right now. It is more then just shame, it is discredit to team.
