Yamato was the world's “largest” battleship, but not the “strongest”. The Kongo-class battleships that fought in the Solomon Islands achieved far more victories. Furthermore, compared to aircraft carriers such as the Enterprise and the Zuikaku, her victories were insignificant.
In spite of her huge size and firepower, Battleship Yamato and her sister ship Musashi were out of date when they were commissioned. Era of aircraft had come when Imperial Japan launched aerial attack on Pearl Harbor in December 7th, 1941.

At 12:20 on the Japanese struts the first group of the attacking planes has appeared. The Japanese connection went to this moment the course of 26 knots an anti-submarine zigzag. Yamato in the center, the cruiser and 8 mininosets around the battle ship. Yamato the first has opened fire with tools of the main caliber antiaircraft shells. At 12:40 on Yamato the first bombs were detonated. At 12:47 in the battle ship with a small interval in time 4 torpedoes 3 have got to the left board at once, 1 in A. V, right around a tower, 13:10 it was necessary to flood corridors of the right board to vyrovnit a list. A list not of a vyrovnila, but could slow down it. Water from the flooded compartments of the left board, too quickly spread on adjacent compartments. At 13:40 Yamato's resistance has been broken, all antiaircraft artillery of caliber of 127 mm didn't work, even that which still was in a system as snaryadny cellars of both boards have been flooded. The antiaircraft artillery of caliber of 25 mm has been destroyed by places, in places is paralyzed by destructions in superstructures of the battle ship and no opportunity existed the strong fires which to extinguish. On the battle ship communications have been damaged, electricity wasn't places, fodder generators of the left board have been flooded, infirmaries of a perpolnena wounded. At 13:50 3 more torpedoes have got to Yamato, one of them has got to a stern, steering has been destroyed, and has jammed a wheel, in situation "on left". The battle ship has begun to describe circulation on left. At 14:07 the list has exceeded a limit mark 14 ° the left board of the battle ship has plunged into water which through holes in the case has begun to spread on the battery deck. Yamato's agony has begun. Water has begun to flood the engine room, it was necessary to stop cars of the left board, right to lower to a minimum. The order has been given to leave the sinking battle ship, but because of the destroyed communications none of the lower ranks have received this order. At 14:17 3 more torpedoes have got to the trading battle ship. 2 in the right board, 1 in left. Yamato's B14:20 has finally turned over and at 14:23 has blown up.
Not a lot of people are gonna believe this but us Iowa, Bismarck, and Yamato all had one thing in common. They all got bombed and weakened.USS Iowa was the only survivor. but another thing they all had in common is their body length. They were all super ships and all their weapons were very similar.
Actually the Bismarck was outclassed by the Yamato and Iowa. Bismarck had 8 15 inch guns. Iowa had 9 16 inch guns and Yamato had 9 18.1 inch guns. Bismarck also had very poor anti air defence. She couldn't even fend off 11 swordfish torpedo bombers

Yeah I really wish she could have had a opportunity to battle one of the Iowa class battleship, it would have been such a epic battle and piece of history to be remembered as one of the coolest naval battles. It's genuinely sad as at one point Iowa and yamato had almost engaged in battle but we called off cause they didn't want to risk their battleships but like seriously what was the point then like cmon now... They should have knew they wouldn't have gotten a opportunity for such a memorable and the battle between the biggest battleships in history again if they had missed that, i'm still mad how whay could have been the most memorable battle and epitome of the modern and largest battleship battle was ruined, just for still admirable and respectful fate for yamato, and Iowa having seen no action with another battleship still nowhere as cool as the battle between the largest and most powerful battleships ever made. like these 2 battleship classes were literally made just for that to fight each other's most competent battleships and exactly that they didn't do it for this fate...
actually yamato bow or entire front is so tough to pen that only her guns that can pen her bow, also iowa has weak armor and yamato with iys 460mm guns will annihilate iowa out of existence
that is Essex class carrier and Independence class carrier meanwhile Enterprise don't have 12.7cm twin turrets Bogue was only the escort carrier, do not participate on naval battle as the main striking
The Battle of Leyte Gulf required 20 torpedoes and a dozen bombs to sink "Musashi". It has a Guinness record of "the most attacked warship". The US military learned and concentrated the attacks on "Yamato" on one side.
Cause of Yamato sinking: The AA cannons of the Yamato are very bad. The Yamato was build For battle another battleships, japan dont build the Yamato For battle hundred of planes
@@atom1236 Not quite, Yamato had AA weaponry but it was very poor. During her final battle she didn't even manage to shoot down any American planes with her AA guns.
Why do ppl say yamato and Bismarck are better than Iowa class battle ship when yamato and Bismarck are making crappy submarines and all of the Iowa class battle ship are floating museums you can visit when ever
My guy think about it a bit, if the Iowa class battleships were against the kido butai it would have been the same story. Also bismarck was just incredibly unlucky having her maneuvering stuck having almost reached safety in mainland europe, bc of one incredibly unlucky torpedo hit that jammed her turning. And yamato was made to fight battleships not carriers and this was a suicide mission known as operation ten go for yamato, everyone knew she was going to her end about to be bombarded by the carriers. Plus as the person mentioned above every battleship would have met the same fate had they been up against 11 fleet carriers. Not to mention it's actually incredibly impressive how yamato survived more tha two hours against hundreds of torpedo and bomber aircrafts and would have survived even longer had the torpedo bulges been flooded.
Bro what if you send 400aircraft to iowa class it will ve fucked in 5minutes just stop saying iowa is stronger than yamato, cuz yamato sent on a suicide mission they knew she will meet her end before she reach okinawa, also iowa class fought with the us army by support them not like yamato where she is alone against 11aircraft carriers, now tell me can a single iowa beat yamato ?
After seeing how big the Yamato was in a picture that made me wonder how massive the H44 class German BB would've been. In the game Großer Kurfürst is the H42 class German BB so imagine how much bigger the H44 would've been.

@@tennoshenaniganizer9234yeah I was young and not the smartest and I read my comment again today and it’s such a huge spam in the face, man.
Iowa still my favorite with the Hood though
Only 12 USN planes were shot down in the attack on the Ten Go Squadron and some of those shot down went down in the Yamato explosive shock wave.
when u have the most op unity in the game, but ur enemy spam weak units to defeat ur unity, and this strategy works:
This is so freaking AMAZING
Yamato was heaviest battle ship ever made
A true juggernaut took the unslaught of 375 planes, for over several hours. It and the sharnhorst have the greatest story of defiance while facing unwinnable odds
This should be a thing a really cool cutscene of ships entering battle before every match
2:22 should be a cool sinking animation
R.I.P yamato🇯🇵❤️
ー{RsQ}deju557 :(
Can you speak English
Because Yamato has such firepower, no ship dare to face her directly
The Yamato actually sank one light carrier and I found out that there was another Yamato class which was called the A-150 super battleship
Yeah and there was a 3rd Yamato who was a carrier
The Yamato-Class was:
Yamato
Musashi
Shinano
A-150
Kii
坊ノ岬沖海戦ですね!
i love yamato 😀
Yamato no like missouri
Yeah... her tall and curvy body are so damn sexy
Me too
If you are in the war you will not even like it
Yamato had Bad air cover.. 25mm AA gun lol.. Nagato better
Wow those are some fast turrets! IRL the Yamato's turrets only traversed at 2 degrees per second.
That’s still pretty speedy considering the hundreds of tons that you are moving
I had never seen so many Enterprise carriers in my life 0:28 XD
Madn3ss War Bird there only one enterprise not so many
They are several Essex class carriers and bunch of light carriers
[NSK] War Bird 360 they are essex and bogue classes
[NSK] War Bird 360 sorry to blow your bubble, but in this scene, you can see Essex class carriers and Bogue class escorts carriers.
that is Essex class carrier and Independence class carrier
meanwhile Enterprise don't have 12.7cm twin turrets
Bogue was only the escort carrier, do not participate on naval battle as the main striking
The Battle of Leyte Gulf required 20 torpedoes and a dozen bombs to sink "Musashi". It has a Guinness record of "the most attacked warship". The US military learned and concentrated the attacks on "Yamato" on one side.
over 35 + aircraft were lost attacking Yamato and Musashi, impressive!
Well... rebuilding that ship so she can save Earth from the Gamilons in 2199 is going to be a much tougher job than the cartoon depicts.
Yamato : Dying
Akizuki Class Destroyers (I Think) : Nah His Fine Bois.

Well they can't do much there.

Destoryer AA against planes of that Tier really doesn't matter.
Mirza Hamza Baig 5 inch dual purpose guns should knock planes out of the sky without much issue

imperial navy: where is yamato and the crusers
US navy: gone
imperial navy: f**k u
Yamato will remain as a symbol of legendary sea ships of wwll
Cause of Yamato sinking:
The AA cannons of the Yamato are very bad.
The Yamato was build For battle another battleships, japan dont build the Yamato For battle hundred of planes
Yes
Wait, isnt the yamato design to protect other ship form aircraft?
@@atom1236 not really
@@atom1236 Not quite, Yamato had AA weaponry but it was very poor. During her final battle she didn't even manage to shoot down any American planes with her AA guns.
I like how in wows they have to balance this thing or its too OP
Cus she is OP in reality
Khalid_0TB nah
Whats too op?The dozens of carriers with hundereds of planes or the yamato with some destroyers

Also they launched from Task force 38 also know as Task force 58
They are the same units just different admirals
I watched this video everyday when i was 7-8 yeas old, that's 6-7 ago i really miss that moment😢
Yamato was only one-way fuel up.
It is, because its mission is to crash into okinawa island to protect the attack form us navy.

Me trying to fend of the enemies knowing that I'm gonna die so that my friends can escape
To think all this actually happened...I'm still mindblowed amazed!!
just imagine if japan brought its whole battleship on this would it survive
Yamato is my favoryte ships ever!
Why do ppl say yamato and Bismarck are better than Iowa class battle ship when yamato and Bismarck are making crappy submarines and all of the Iowa class battle ship are floating museums you can visit when ever
Cuz those ships never been in the same situation as those 2 battleships
The explosion actually happened a few seconds after it was submerged
After seeing how big the Yamato was in a picture that made me wonder how massive the H44 class German BB would've been. In the game Großer Kurfürst is the H42 class German BB so imagine how much bigger the H44 would've been.
I wish this is how video games looked like

Poidachi it was useless It got destroyed so easily
Poidachi and also would’ve got obliterated but the 4 uss Iowa class bb
Don’t say useless to the Yamato the mean we’re killed by the planes too
