How to tie the Peccary Dry Caddis

Many will be packing up the fishing tackle and blowing the dust of their fly tying kit! This is the time to fill all the gaps in those fly boxes and start to come up with the next killer fly patterns. The material for this fly came all the way from America. It was kindly sent by ‪@tiesflies‬, I have found it difficult to source Peccary but I will be redoubling my efforts what a great material. Loads of potential uses!

We have a small Chalk stream, unfortunately no Trout in it, that a lane crosses. Sat in the sun on a bench alongside the stream today watching Caddis hatch in good numbers.

Semperfli sell a printed Peccary strips which tie in easily. I suspect you could use a sharpie to change the colour. I use it to tie Hans Kilnk’ once and away fly’
