Bethany, this is such a great channel! You are so poised and friendly and the videos have great production value. I so appreciate the detailed recipe links so I don’t have to cobble up the recipe from the description box. Please everyone, like and subscribe! Complimenti!
I love these type of salads! I was thinking of making a salad for dinner, since the temperature is hovering around a hundred, and will probably add some olive oil marinated canned tuna for some added protein. This, some good bread, and a glass or two of wine make an ideal summer dinner!
A testament to food is life. We're marinating this in our fridge, slicing up seeded Italian into heroes with some thinly sliced mozzarella and loading them up with this beautiful salad. A perfect lunch on a hot summer day!
Have been out of touch, so much upon which to catch. So glad this landed. What a lovely recipe; the syrup very cool. You are so dear to watch/hear. Very inviting and not tutorial. And forgetting an ingredient is something we all do. You and chef Jean-P are the only two that honestly admit it! I still cannot believe the immaculate kitchen! If I had a studio kitchen it would not look so proper. Thnx and best to all!!
The dressing is great! I hate the store bought ones because they have so many added ingredients and I believe they have sugar in them?! So this recipe will be great to have for my salads 🫶🏻🙏 and yes I did the same thing with artichokes as a kid 🤣☠️ thought I was the only one 😂 Really thought your voice was so soothing and nice. Very easy to follow. Glad to have you back from vaca! Waiting on dessert tho 👁️ 🎂
Yes, soo much sugar in the store-bought dressing ughs. Glad to hear I'm not alone with the artichokes lol ;) appreciate the kind words so much!! Still working on dessert😂
I just accidentally found your channel and I'm mesmerized. I grew up in NYC in an Irish household my mother was from Ireland but when she came here she lived in Little Italy so she made everything from scratch and over the years have had so many italian friends and their husbands would say how come the Irish one makes the best Italian food lol Are you 100% Italian? You might be a pasta and potatoes gal ... Italian/Irish😊 they may have feisty tempers but they have beautiful kids together😂
Lol, you just described my childhood. We have a lot of Irish in my family and my irish relatives make better Italian food than most Italians. I’m not Italian, although most of my relatives are, we’re from the NYC/NJ metropolitan area and Italian food was what we always made :) glad to hear you stumbled upon my channel!
We made your artichoke salad for a luncheon today. It was a major success, Everyone loved it. Do you have more summer recipes? So we don’t have to turn on the oven in this heatwave, to keep the kitchen cool. We greatly enjoyed all your recipes thus far.
I'm thrilled you enjoyed it!! Thank you for sharing. I will be doing my best to share more summer recipes - I do have a few oven recipes coming up but I'll do some without it cuz I know none of us want to turn it on right now haha :)
@@Asimplepalate Hi Bethany I made this tonight and served it with barbequed pork, all i will say is there is none left at all. I thought i would have trouble getting the Artichokes but our local Delicatesant sold them, but only the marinated ones which worked out perfect. Every one commented on the chickpeas, not something we normally add to salads her in the UK but they went down amazingly. My mother in law is staying at the moment and even she loved it, trust me thats praise indeed, she has never been happy since the house fell on her and she lost her Ruby slippers 👠👠 Chris.
@@geordiejones2 You're killing me with the Wizard of Oz reference. That was a good laugh. I'm thrilled you all enjoyed it :) especially your mother-in-law! High praise indeed. And so glad you enjoyed the chickpeas, especially not having them much in salads! Thank you so much, Chris! Always look forward to your feedback!
Canada is famous for Maple Syrup. 80% of the world's Maple Syrup comes from Canada. I love your recipes. They look delicious, but you stated that your recipes are American - Italian recipes. I am looking for Canadian - Italian recipes that I can make here in Canada. I was wondering if this was one of them.
@@chriskatranis3755 I don't have anything Canadian-Italian, I don't know a ton about Canadian cuisine. Just American-Italian. Of course adding maple syrup is not traditional, so I guess you could say it's got the Canadian influence :) I would be interested to see what a Canadian-Italian dish would be like!!
I was just joking Bethany. That was just my Greek Canadian humour. I have watched a few of your videos and your dishes look great. Your videos make me hungry every time I see them. Greeks and Italians here in Canada make the traditional dishes. My mom was a great cook. She made all the Greek traditional foods and I loved my mom's cooking. I am sure that everybody's dishes are a little different. People adjust the recipes to suit their tastes. Greeks and Italians here in Canada make their traditional dishes just like they do in the US. I have Italian friends that cook traditional Italian food. We have our own pastries and pastry shops. My mom made all the Greek pastries and everybody loved them. She would get requests for special occasions like weddings. My mom's pastries were the best. I enjoy watching your videos. You look so professional the way you cook and your dishes look great.
Bethany, You know, I always wonder why you don't have a million subscribers yet!!! You are a great chef and probably the best looking one n RUclips, too! I think if you could show that killer smile of yours a little more, I guarantee you will be hitting the million subscribers much faster than you think. Best of luck to you.
you are too kind! And this certainly made me smile. IF we ever hit a million subscribers, I will never forget the ones who were here in the beginning who believed in me first. It means more than you know!💛
@@Asimplepalate BTW - I made your Italian Meatballs with beef and lamb, coupled with your San Marzano tomato marinara. It was a home run! Can't wait to try your Chicken Meatballs!
I completely agree. I don't use products with sunflower/canola oil, but I make an exception for the artichokes. I really wish they used another oil, there are some that are more pricy that you can get in olive oil.

It's Thursday night, 10:30pm here in Australia. I should be going to bed but instead, I want to make a salad 🤔. Looks amazing!

The perfect summer salad! Love the jar hack, perfect when you don't have a man around 😅
😂 facts girl, you don't need a man to open a jar with this method

Mmmmmm, that looks really good! I would add arugula myself.
I'm not at all Italian but I've loved marinated artichokes since I was a kid too!
Aren’t they the best?! And arugula would be a great addition!
This must be a Canadian - Italian salad with the Maple Syrup in the salad dressing.
It's a favorite sweetner of mine to use!

Awsome! How about little parmesan and or feta cheese?🧐🙏👏👍🇸🇪❤️
Oh yes either is delicious! 😊
I just think feta would make it a Greek salad 😮
It would definitely add a Greek flare! But quite a few reviews have added it.
mmmmm....add avocado chunks
Salad looks amazing! Thoughts on adding sun-dried tomatoes, chunks of fresh mozzarella, and pine nuts?
All the above would be delicious! It’s a salad you can really add anything you like to :)

If you don't eat all of it how long can you keep it for ?
It can easily last 2-3 days! But even beyond that it would still be fine.
The artichokes that are marinated I don’t like that they’re marinated in sunflower Oil or some other kind of bad oil
