Love this show. That truck don't sound half bad either. Oddly enough, I plan on hauling containers from that area. The Port of Virginia is currently the only port on the East coast deep enough for the biggest container ships
Lucky for you, you didn't have to hit the shipyard in Newport news. That's my neck of the woods driver, old east coast cities ain't set up for trucks. Good driving
I took a wrong turn in Toronto, Ontario. The buildings kept getting taller, no trucks around other them me. I asked my wife to go in the middle of the interestion to stop traffic so i could make a u turn. I car was just spewing vulgar at usbut most people were clapping and giving thumbs up. I made the u turn, my wife steped on the running board and we were gone in 15 seconds. I had to have a W900LN at that time.
I really enjoy your videos, even all your ramblings on. I'm also impressed on how calm you stay in the tight situations you find yourself in with your truck. Keep up the good videos and stay safe out there.
When 5 rights can still make a wrong... Think I would have had a look at the Satellite map... The tunnels of Boston are a nightmare on wheels! GPS goes blind and dumb...
Thank you so much for doing these videos. They bring back so many good memories. I used to go trucking with my Dad back in the 1980s with our old COE International. Talk about a rough ride. Lol. Thanks again for the videos!
I was born and raised in that area (Portsmouth) That first tunnel you tried to go thru was the Mid town tunnel. You can dump your air to get under the sensor then air back up and cruise right thru that tunnel. They screwed the sensor up on install. To many people have moved to that area that’s why I moved to the mountains of western NC 23 years ago. My mother and sisters still live in Portsmouth. Good video!! 👍✌️
Let the Good Times Roll, Big Trucker.. Yah Buddy, I remember going under those, over height sensors, I also have to let the air out of the bags to make it through.I even had to lower my CB antennas, they were setting the ones off on I-77N at the Toll Booth. Anyway, letting air out, Saves an hour of detour.. Well, glad you made it out without tearing any 4-wheelers up. Bye..
Know the feeling ,....We got really messed up in Schenectady NY with low railroad overpasses..in our Motorcoach. It was like we got boxed in. GPS was not helping either.. . Have a good week
Life is Good. True that x15 is thirsty. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year on your vacation... keep the shiny side up and the rubber down driver... until next time I'm 10-10 on the side
Oh man that gave me flash back's of going threw NYC with my old company truck following a box truck at 60 mph i see a sign says 12'8 I'm grabbing that streering wheel and clenching butt cheek's hopeing I nearly fainted when I came out the other side lol Oh damn man There is just No love for the trucker's in the NE part of this country.
Life is Good. Yeah it wasn't long after that I figured out you could use the Bane of NJ the 285 or whatever that is to escape it. I never went back save for one time
The municipal waste trash haulers drive like idiots on I-95 between DC and Richmond. A lot of gas tanker drivers drive crazy around Richmond as well. The container haulers around Richmond have old junky trucks and can't go very fast. Haha
don't you have that GPS that indianajacktrucking uses? it's for trucks, all the routes, tolls etc, Americans are great, they have everything! I forgot the name of it, he has a review on several of them
I was in Navy 7 yrs stationed on USS HARRY S. TRUMAN CVN-75 carrier there at Norfolk Naval Base so i know Nofolk well and was also in the shipyard in Portsmouth
Store manager, "where the hell ya been"? Me, "you told me to turn right, where the grey mare always stands in the corner. Guess the horse was in the barn!" True story!
The best way to avoid that is put norfolk international terminal (NIT) in your trucking gps. It will always take you around that but it will put you back on hampton boulevard if thats where you need to be. Its shorter ways to do it but that is the least confusing. Great videos driver
We all get lost and end up in sticky situations once in a while, that called being human. Of course the idiots that did the city planning never took into account that beautiful trucks like yours would one day have to use their roads. These city planners still think their products come in be horse and cart. Lol
Life is Good. Was lost in washington/baltimore area in maryland a while back and the question "will it fit" tends to get the heart rate up a few extra beats
Sir Tim !! You should have seen signs for US 17 !!!! It would have taken over the James River to I-64 West !!! Anyhow,,you need to adjust the air ride linkage on your Pete and trailer to an empty height of 13ft 6 in !!! Ain't it fun to get lost !! GPS Ain't gona help !!! KEEP IT SAFE !!!
Sir Tim !!! THAT'S TRUCKING !!! Aint no better !!! Did you understand about adjusting the linkage on the air ride ???? Its at the back of the tandems on your Pete and under the trailer tandems !!!! KEEP IT SAFE !!!
K B trailer could stand to come up a little, but it rides really good, it has the small pancake bags on it, tractor could be a tad high, but we don’t have any drive line noise, I may lower it a little, I’ve looked at it and I see how Peterbilt does it, so yes I could play with it, it looks to be a really simple adjustment, even if I get it out of wack, a quick stop on a ramp would be easy enough for adjusting.
SIr Tim !!! Yes !! You should be able to adjust the air ride with no problem !!! Anyhows,,, Hows the clutch holding up ???? NO more noise I can hear on your videos !!! KEEP IT SAFE !!
Tim, I don't believe I've heard you mention fuel mileage on your X15. I have a friend looking into purchasing a new Pete from Tulsa. He pulls reefer out of KC. You seem to drive similar speeds as I drive, and I experience 6-7mpg with my Paccar
When I pulled the reefer, I did 6-6.5. Now, I pull a Landoll, hauling containers loaded with railroad construction materials. I first thought I'd lose mileage, but, not the case
Yep, like on Hwy. 1 in Jersey, the locals remove the detour signs then hang out at the bridge for trucks. Then they'll charge you $20 for directions around it.
Norfolk real old city, laid out real wrong, I had family in Virginia Beach so I could find my way around in a car, left my truck at charlies, real good sea food in the area. pull toy told you that
David Lackey it’s a 2014 Great Dane, I bought it used, it already had the box under it, I would guess it’s $2,000 and the side skirts, I would guess $1200, I paid $28,000 for it in March, I would guess new it sells for $36,000 with aluminum wheels, air ride, stainless front and rear, stainless rear frame and Dot bumper, air slide, auto inflation system and Led interior lighting, I liked it and thought it was worth the cash and is serving me well, hope that helped.
I dont think ur videos r too long i love watching this guy........nice truck

I’m in & out of Norfolk naval base a lot and the traffic in Norfolk sucks in the afternoon. Get out before 1600 and you’re good.
Used to be stationed there and in Dam Neck. What you say is true.
I really enjoy your videos, even all your ramblings on. I'm also impressed on how calm you stay in the tight situations you find yourself in with your truck. Keep up the good videos and stay safe out there.
Jim Krocka Thanks, getting excited or upset doesn’t help matters at all, if anything it makes it worse, Thank you for your comments and watching.
When 5 rights can still make a wrong...
Think I would have had a look at the Satellite map...
The tunnels of Boston are a nightmare on wheels!
GPS goes blind and dumb...
Everything is good about your video presentations. I've watched all of them. Don't change a thing.
Thank you so much for doing these videos. They bring back so many good memories. I used to go trucking with my Dad back in the 1980s with our old COE International. Talk about a rough ride. Lol. Thanks again for the videos!
bigdaddydon1974 your welcome and thanks for watching
Tim,nice job at staying calm ! I like your videos as such.thanks.
Mike Godette 👍 thank you

hd93scooter Thank you and congratulations on the move, good call on that one, I didn’t want to argue very much, I’m actually 13’7 on a good day.
Do you have 24.5 rubber?
Like that idea of dumping the air to pass the sensors. 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Always get turned around in the Norfolk area and I’m a retired sailor! Great video as always! Stay safe out there!
Similar situation only a marathon and quoting the police here "they must have given a 3 year old a crayon and said draw a route "
Good job Tim, you're a top dawg-God bless you!!!
Let the Good Times Roll, Big Trucker.. Love the videos. I lived in the Virginia Beach area for years. I don't miss how people drive there, that's for sure.
Know the feeling ,....We got really messed up in Schenectady NY with low railroad overpasses..in our Motorcoach. It was like we got boxed in. GPS was not helping either.. . Have a good week
Dang that was difficult getting out of that city. Whew if I get my cdl, I'll remember this episode as how to keep your cool! Well done sir.
Just remember Tim your never lost your just sight seeing

Life is Good. True that x15 is thirsty. Have a merry Christmas and a happy new year on your vacation... keep the shiny side up and the rubber down driver... until next time I'm 10-10 on the side
The tunnel part of the video was awesome!
I lived in Norfolk for almost 10 years while serving in the Navy and working as a civilian contractor and I DO NOT miss that traffic at all.
I’m from Chesspeake. Ha. Yes some air-ride trailers set off the over height detectors there. At least you weren’t in Chicago. Come’on
Oh man that gave me flash back's of going threw NYC with my old company truck following a box truck at 60 mph i see a sign says 12'8 I'm grabbing that streering wheel and clenching butt cheek's hopeing I nearly fainted when I came out the other side lol Oh damn man There is just No love for the trucker's in the NE part of this country.
Tiny Fox I’ve been there and done that in NYC myself, I don’t go there anymore
Life is Good. Yeah it wasn't long after that I figured out you could use the Bane of NJ the 285 or whatever that is to escape it. I never went back save for one time
Getting lost in a city is a billion times worse than getting lost on backroads
The municipal waste trash haulers drive like idiots on I-95 between DC and Richmond. A lot of gas tanker drivers drive crazy around Richmond as well. The container haulers around Richmond have old junky trucks and can't go very fast. Haha
It's time for a Bud Light !!
I feel for ya......Sucks getting lost.

You no...you know I love your vids.
Never get lost, only temporarily confused LOL
Like all your videos and you can make em as long as you like 😎.
Videos are perfect don’t change them
Again sir . I like your videos .

Good ole 264 haha. I was stationed in Virginia Beach for 10 years
Great video
Idk about the guys but this girl likes the videos just like they are!
Loved the tunnel shot. Put it on a loop and played it fast speed. OohHoo 🤢
Jon Doe 👍
My husband said you need a co pilot to do rock paper scissors to determine your route decisions lol
I despise Norfolk, everything ends in 64.
We all get lost and end up in sticky situations once in a while, that called being human. Of course the idiots that did the city planning never took into account that beautiful trucks like yours would one day have to use their roads. These city planners still think their products come in be horse and cart. Lol
derm de worm I might have just missed the signs or something on the detour causing me to get lost, but yes those first few turns wasn’t pretty.
Merry Christmas! Enjoy Hawaii.
Mike Brown Thanks and Merry Christmas to you as well, I have a few more videos to post before vacation, so stay tuned.
Norfolk can be a tricky pain in the ass....
John Hull indeed
Not stupid at all, just temporarily discombobulated.😂
Oh that silver car pulled out infront of the oversize so they blew the horn
Makes a rookie driver feel better about his day lol.
TheEquipmentking I’m here to help at any expense 👍
Life is Good. Was lost in washington/baltimore area in maryland a while back and the question "will it fit" tends to get the heart rate up a few extra beats
Tim if you deer hunt you are welcome to visit & Hunt with me sometime.

K B it was a blast, gps try’s to route you back the way you can’t go, fun fun
Sir Tim !!! THAT'S TRUCKING !!! Aint no better !!! Did you understand about adjusting the linkage on the air ride ???? Its at the back of the tandems on your Pete and under the trailer tandems !!!! KEEP IT SAFE !!!

gotta love tidewater
Looks like you got lost in my town
I forgot where I was but I think it was Chesapeake Tunnel when I saw 13’6” I almost freaked then I went through no scraping or nothing
Love the east coast....
Boy... what day that was...
Can you dump your airbags, that's what I used to do.
Tim, I don't believe I've heard you mention fuel mileage on your X15. I have a friend looking into purchasing a new Pete from Tulsa. He pulls reefer out of KC. You seem to drive similar speeds as I drive, and I experience 6-7mpg with my Paccar
Mike Dreeszen mid 6, normally any where from 5.7 to 6.5 average, lots play into it, if fuel mileage is top priority I would go another route.
When I pulled the reefer, I did 6-6.5. Now, I pull a Landoll, hauling containers loaded with railroad construction materials. I first thought I'd lose mileage, but, not the case
My friend has '07 Freightliner Coronado, getting around 5. So, 6-6.5 would be a blessing. I know it was for me.
BTW, I had my graphics/lettering reworked at Thunder Grafix. They did a fabulous job!
the t680 gets about 7 to 8
Hah I love when they make a "detour" and the only sign is the first that says detour then the rest is....well figure it on your own, boss.
Johans Marcano crazy isn’t it
Yep, like on Hwy. 1 in Jersey, the locals remove the detour signs then hang out at the bridge for trucks. Then they'll charge you $20 for directions around it.
Hoss I hate to say it, but that’s pretty funny
Norfolk real old city, laid out real wrong, I had family in Virginia Beach so I could find my way around in a car, left my truck at charlies, real good sea food in the area. pull toy told you that
david schabel I’ve stayed at Charlie’s before, my nephew was stationed over there for awhile
It’s pronounced “Port-Smith”. I think.

Perfect way to sound it out.
Damn, that's one sexy beast...
blessings from Steel City Canada
Hello,I'm in school can you tell me what to look for when backing between two trailers? Thx
Did you post vlog of how much rig cost ? And tour of inside
Can't use midtown tunnel gotta use 64 East or West to go outbound. Always fun not.
What kind of fuel mileage you get with the X15? What’s your HP rating at? Where do you find your “sweet spot” to be when cruising the interstates?
Should've looked at ur,map tge blow,up of Norfolk u would've seen exactly where u were at
Why did u stop putting the gopro on your head
I wonder if you could tell us about your trailer make model cost etc
David Lackey it’s a 2014 Great Dane, I bought it used, it already had the box under it, I would guess it’s $2,000 and the side skirts, I would guess $1200, I paid $28,000 for it in March, I would guess new it sells for $36,000 with aluminum wheels, air ride, stainless front and rear, stainless rear frame and Dot bumper, air slide, auto inflation system and Led interior lighting, I liked it and thought it was worth the cash and is serving me well, hope that helped.
Life is Good. Thank you for quick response your videos are so much better then most and very informative don’t stop
David Lackey Thanks, I will try and keep my idiotic ramblings rolling
You were driving my daily drive. It is confusing if you don’t know the area.
Brent Virginia Beach yes it is
what is the over height alarm ,that you are talking about
how do you get lost?
