I used to work for IJ Company years ago delivering to Wendy’s restaurants. Depending on traffic on the mountain, wed sometimes take the back way between our Lafollette and Jellico stores. That ride twasnt always fun, especially in the winter. We’d also deliver to some Habitat For Humanity sites out there off of exit 141 and south on 27. We’d joke about having to have sunlight pumped in.
Hi Tim enjoyed your video! I prepare invoices for payment at work and deal with several trucking invoices weekly. Make sure you have all the important information on your invoices to "CYA" in case of disputes. A little FYI on what some of the trucking companies have on their invoices. On the top third of the invoice you should have your company name with address and contact info (at least a phone number) , your invoice number, invoice date, bill of lading number (if you have one), payment terms such as 10-15-20-30 days payment ( most that I deal with are in the 10-15 day payment range)and most importantly your remit to address where you want the payment to go to with it specified "Remit to:" on the left side right before your company name. In the body of your invoice it is a good idea to specify where and from whom you pick the load up along with the date, some also do the time and what you picked up. Example: furniture, groceries, ex number of pallets etc. You will also need your destination to whom, where (Joe's Surf Shop Chattanooga TN), when and if possible who signed for it. And of course your miles driven and price for the load and any fuel surcharges that may be applicable. It's extremely important to document in case of damage or missing items. If you are going to accept payment via credit cards, just about all companies are requesting a "courtesy fee" of anywhere from 2%-4% extra for accepting credit cards. That's to offset what the bank will charge you. Make sure you do the math for what percent you are going to accept and put that price next to the notice. This is usually found at the lower left-hand corner of the invoice but I'm sure it can go anywhere. Some companies use the standard Excel worksheet invoices and some are pretty elaborate with full color and pictures of their truck, waste of money in my opinion. I hope this helps you and if you know all of this already please just disregard. Keep it safe and looking forward to your next video.
Jim Krocka I just wanted to say, thank you for this information, I do appreciate it and I’ve kept the email from it gives me, again thanks for the information and knowledge.
Tim awesome courteous professionalism displayed by moving over for the four wheelers on the old two lane twisty Road. Good job man not many would have done that. I guess that's what separates you from the many.
Most excellent video. If you ever feel like a riding holiday during your next winter vacation (summer down here), come on down and experience roads like that, or better, all day, every day.
Tim, I saw your head light swap a while back. Maybe if possible could you do a trailer light replacement video? Thanks Tim, your passion for your truck, your business & your professionalism are second to none. Robert.
Good training video on driving hills, curves, down grades shifting and how to be courteous to others by letting them by. Good job. It 'bout wore me out. LOL
Thanks for the ride along, Driver. Not much extra room on that road, for sure! I'd like to run that road on my Bike sometime. We like the curves, at sane speeds too! Keep these videos coming, please!
Your trucking 60 years ago when these kinds of roads preceded the big interstates. Imagine trucking across country on US 50 or 70? That be heck of a trip.
Sir Tim !! Ya !! You have alot to learn about your career that you have now !!! As you say "" aint gona be easy "" ,,but I am sure that'll make it !!! Keep the videos coming !!! KEEP IT SAFE !!!
Tim, Hey brother, regarding that direct customer. Here’s my “sales mgr” advice; Once a week CALL them, call every week at the same time (literally the same exact time) and the same day. You’ll stay fresh in their mind & eventually you’ll get their business. You never know what it could turn into. Maybe nothing, however I’m sure they know many other people as well. If nothing else, they will refer your business to their friends etc... You’ll do great Tim, your motivated and very professional.
Sir Tim !!! On Fancy Gap ,,,if you remember ,,the truck in the right lane had his flashers on and the 4 wheeler didn't know what it was about !!! Right,,he chose to slow to a crawl going around that truck and not looking or caring what was coming in the passing lane !!! Had the same thing happen to me in the 'ol days when we didn't have Jake brakes !!! Did't hit him,but did scare him !!!KEEP IT SAFE !!!
I like the back country roads like that. Get to see some older homes and what not. It is tough to drive those roads in a big truck though. Lots of old FM roads like that in my area.
I have nearly watched all your videos. One things is dont stray away with, how you used to do simple 30min videos. I love to here you voice and conversations but do keep it simple and easy. Camera lights and cruising. Love that!
Lyman135 !!! Don't want Tim to think no body listens to his rambling on !!! He makes alot of sense and I support his comments !!!! Can't answer all his rambling at 1 time as it takes up too much space !! Hope this answers your question and at least you read the comments !! I'm sure Tim likes it !!!! We need to take up a collection so he can buy his chrome trailer with matching fenders !!! HA HA KEEP IT SAFE !!!!
Hi Tim Saw you going by the home depot in Blairsville around noon on tue. My wife and I went up 68 one time she said If I did not slow down she was going to get sick. She said she will never go that way again
K B I started out with, ruined it one day when I dropped the trailer, now I’ve greased everything, one day I will try and clean it and add the inserts on the fifth wheel, trouble is when you do a power only, you mess all that up.
Sir Tim !! Do you remember"" SLICK 50""" ????? It is a teflon based oil product that made white teflon grease that was in a tube !!! I think it was at Walmart at 1 time !! Haven't been looking for it lately !!! The next time your in the store,,look for it in the oil isle !!! KEEP IT SAFE !!!
Sir Tim !! When you drop your trailer,,,do you dump the air ride on the Pete b/4 you pull out from under the trailer ??? That helps to keep the grease where it needs to be !!! Also,, when you back under to do p/u of trailer the grease won't be on the front of the trailer instead of on the 5th wheel !! KEEP IT SAFE !!
You remind me of one of my old school NCOs in ARMY. I'm def soaking up your knowledge. I've been doing logistics 17 year in military and plan to get into the business.
I can understand that but I use to drive over the road back in the 90s before I had a accident and broke my spinal cord and now I can't drive truck anymore so with the head cam it's like I'm still behind the wheel
Tim theres a pair of $3+ mile loads west of where your going to unload. But they don't ship until the 17th. Going to Northern Tx. Seen some high paying loads on one load board. One last week was $14. per mile. But only went 120 miles LOL
Tim, Being the professional you have been here on you tube, I’d recommend you watch this other channel. It’s called “The Trucking Exec”. I’m also sure that you know your numbers but he has very good info. Keep the videos coming, I’m sure your “ramblings” help many drivers. Robert.
Very classy thing to do....give way to other motorists when you are the slowest moving. You are one of the fast diminishing professionals, I’m afraid. The vast majority of the truckers out there could and should learn a thing or two from you, if they’re willing to listen. Keep up the great work!
love this road. Reminds me of the roads we traveled as kids. Dad loved the back roads. Your ramblings are far from idiotic. I would call them entertaining for sure.
I liked running those "hair" roads every once in a while, I called them hair roads because they looked that way on the map. I wouldn't want to do it all the time, but I enjoyed it every once in a while. Good stuff wheeling her down thru there.
Robert Nealy I have several, I’ve seen how to split screen but haven’t tried it yet, someday grasshopper, we are just learning how to edit, I will grow and develop over time.
Rob A I don’t rock and roll around as much as that motor coach and my turning radius is a little different, these type of roads break up the every day boring interstate traveling that I do on a daily basis.
Thanks for sharing Tim, fun drive! Good chatter. Did you use a different camera for this than normal? Interesting! Always watch from start to finish. Love your uploads! Just incase our wires are crossed, I didn't mean the exact moment you did a clip transition, before and after the quality was very heavily compressed, lots of blurring and fuzzyness on the trees. I'd still watch them at 480p, was just curious :) looking forward to the next one. Stay safe boss
See you are doing good, best paying load I ever had paid $214.00 a mile, only went a quarter mile, total $53.50 still real good, best load I ever had, pull toy told you that.
Masterful job of driving, any higher and you would need a pilots license.Like d to ride this type road on my HOG.Stay safe, this time next year you will have all the business end down pat.
Don Leamon mostly retired I think, I remember years ago, a report came out about property rates versus income, it was way out of balance, it’s because of the retirees that moved into the mountains and in the winter they become snow birds
L I G - love the video keep up the good work , try to get more guest to interview. Couple questions What company are your using for for ELD? And are leased on to somebody or or have your own MC# how are the pro & cons of it.
U picked up from the town I am from at the beginning of the video the 4 lane area looked familiar then I seen the storage buildings an dollar store An knew where u was An said where u picked up
you should be looking for shippers that need a permanent contractor. dedicated accounts. someone to get you out. and someone to get you back again. you can tender for you're own work. if you got another trailer they could even pre-load you.
Jay Cole17 what drama? Luckily I mostly watch sailing ⛵️ videos and I don’t know any of the other trucking video guys personally, but I’m not into the drama stuff.
Life is Good. Been doing some research on landstar. Do they have an option on just doing drop and hooks? Looking to start my own thing hopefully by the end of this year. Thanks for the input.
Sir Tim !!! Your GPS set to truck routes or do you have the car mode ????? Look out for low underpasses and wires on those back roads !!! Did you lower your air ride system on Pete ???? KEEP IT SAFE !!!!
Sir Tim !! As you know in the "ol days we didn't have the new stuff to play with !!! Got on a back road shortcut and had to back 2.5 miles to get to a place to turn around do to low train underpass !! KEEP IT SAFE !!!
was there a passing zone at all, or double yellow lines the entire time? I like back roads, but, as someone that doesn't speed, I like for people to eventually be able to pass me...
Peggy Lewis this is always nice, when I’m at home, I stay off of the interstate, after running them for 2.5 million miles, you enjoy stuff such as this.
Tim, when are you going to get out here to AZ? :-) Up at my house in Flagstaff this weekend, finally a bit of snow and the boy wants to go skiing, so headed to the mountain today. They do make snow now out of poop water, but it is not quite the same as the real stuff. Good scenery, I've only been through a part of TN, and that was almost 20 years ago. What are you using for a mic? Assuming it is plugged into a GoPro? Peace!
Don Leamon glad I don’t 🎿, poop 💩 water, that’s crazy, probably will not hit flag until spring, might bust Phoenix sometime, all depends on freight, I fly with the wind.
Hey Tim , I want to go to work for you ! Please order me a new Peter built Royal blue and Tan colors 2 tone paint , lots of Crome 389 heavy hauler , 4 axles , big cat pushing awesome horsepower! I need a matching 3 axle lowboy with a jeep and stinger attachment ! 😬
StarScream666 gives me the control to haul for anyone and everyone and keep all of the money in my own pocket and not have to pay them for the privilege of running under their name.
I drove for United Van Lines for 11 years my last truck was a 1995 379 peterbilt with a 425 cat with a 13 speed
Nice ride along Tim, I like looking at the stuff people have on their property. Over the years I found a few treasures.
I used to work for IJ Company years ago delivering to Wendy’s restaurants. Depending on traffic on the mountain, wed sometimes take the back way between our Lafollette and Jellico stores. Food Mooch where’d I go?
Food Mooch thank you kind sir. What’s your 20 this morning?
Ramble on sir. Thanks for the Country ride. Safe travels.
Enjoyed the video, rambling, scenery and curves.

Hi. I carried a printer on the truck, when I delivered I printed an invoice and sent the paperwork soon as possible. Made everyone happy. Good videos!
Dave Speer I have a printer on board and a scanner

Awesome road. Thanks for the ride!
Tom Hyslop your welcome and glad you enjoyed it
Enjoyed the ride-along. If time isn't an issue the two-lane lesser traveled back road is the way to go. Keep em coming.
Love the video’. Thought I was back home in Kentucky.. Miss the Hills for sure

6 months of working capital. You are doing it right!
You remind me of one of my old school NCOs in ARMY. I'm def soaking up your knowledge. I've been doing logistics 17 year in military and plan to get into the business.

Pete k freight rates are high at the moment
Tim,
Being the professional you have been here on you tube, I’d recommend you watch this other channel.
I like when I'm out on them county farm roads in ks,ne,co etc etc just laid back jammin out easing along
love this road. Reminds me of the roads we traveled as kids. Dad loved the back roads. Your ramblings are far from idiotic. I would call them entertaining for sure.
That looks just like Lauretta Lynns Blvd , hwy 13 I think going north towards Clarksville TN !
Been up and down that 2 lane road a few times .
I liked running those "hair" roads every once in a while, I called them hair roads because they looked that way on the map. I wouldn't want to do it all the time, but I enjoyed it every once in a while. Good stuff wheeling her down thru there.
TomHeid1 thank you, yes it’s nice to take the road less traveled sometimes
Hi nice video the roads are a bit bendy but you drive that OK buddy
Nice video, got car sick after watching. LOL!
Abe Ash good thing it wasn’t the head cam
Good videos! Wish you had more cameras. Keep it up.
Robert Nealy I have several, I’ve seen how to split screen but haven’t tried it yet, someday grasshopper, we are just learning how to edit, I will grow and develop over time.
Turn right...lol. GPS...IS LOST...7000 lbs..7% ramblings..good job tim...handling that huge mountain...

James Edwards people get motion sick on these roads with a head cam
You damn sure won't get drowsey running that road , LOL !
LOL fun on a bike, but looks like a blast in a large car
You are welcome Tim.
Where in Murfreesboro? That’s my home town
Timmy Russell mine to
You ramble all you like , it's not all idiotic !
Nice scenic video..I personally wouldn’t take the route with my 45 motorcoach towing..my opinion sir. Safe trucking
Rob A I don’t rock and roll around as much as that motor coach and my turning radius is a little different, these type of roads break up the every day boring interstate traveling that I do on a daily basis.
Nice!
This is about how twisty most of New Zealand roads are except the road is not as good condition.
Great video sir, love those curves but wouldn't want to do it every day in a rig
Thanks for sharing Tim, fun drive! Good chatter. Did you use a different camera for this than normal? The compression is huge when you have tree's on both sides of you it's clear to see the image isn't sharp at all, honestly quite surprising which is why I ask if it's a different camera. If you look at 31:16 and pause it at any point in that section it looks like your driving through heavy mist! Maybe movavi did too much compression?
gt3911 I figured out how to upload it so it will play in 1080, same camera, but it was one ugly misty rainy day that day, I looked at the 31 mark and seen my clip transition, but impressive that you made it that far, congratulations you are one of the few who watch it all.
David Schabel how long did that load take you is the question
Keep up the good work can you do video of you shifting
Just passed u on 40 east about the 168
Christopher Reeves that was me
Masterful job of driving, any higher and you would need a pilots license.Like d to ride this type road on my HOG.Stay safe, this time next year you will have all the business end down pat.
What do people do for a living there? Surprised at the number of houses seemingly in the middle of nowhere... At least they have churches handy. ;-)
Don Leamon mostly retired I think, I remember years ago, a report came out about property rates versus income, it was way out of balance, it’s because of the retirees that moved into the mountains and in the winter they become snow birds
Well I loved that road, good for a Harley like you say, what kind of Harley do you have?...I have a 2008 Street Glide, love it...
Bill Mathies 2013 road glide, probably the ugliest style bike Harley makes
Naw Tim, all Harleys look good!..
L I G - love the video keep up the good work , try to get more guest to interview. Couple questions What company are your using for for ELD? And are leased on to somebody or or have your own MC# how are the pro & cons of it.

you should be looking for shippers that need a permanent contractor.
dedicated accounts.
someone to get you out.
and someone to get you back again. you can tender for you're own work. if you got another trailer they could even pre-load you.

Sir Tim !!! Your GPS set to truck routes or do you have the car mode ????? Look out for low underpasses and wires on those back roads !!! Did you lower your air ride system on Pete ???? KEEP IT SAFE !!!!
K B yes it’s set for truck routing
Sir Tim !! As you know in the "ol days we didn't have the new stuff to play with !!! Got on a back road shortcut and had to back 2.5 miles to get to a place to turn around do to low train underpass !! KEEP IT SAFE !!!
K B yes I’ve done the same more than once, this is my backyard and I know it well
Sir Tim !! Once was enough for me !!! Rand/Mcnally finally came out with a truckers atlas and help end the mistakes as you know !!!KEEP IT SAFE !!!
Try getting hooked up with HUB Group INC! You basically can name your own price and also Heart Hanks LLC!
William Creel I’m approved and signed up with hub group
Different Strokes is it bad that I get what your talking about Willis
Oklahoma dave not at all
was there a passing zone at all, or double yellow lines the entire time? I like back roads, but, as someone that doesn't speed, I like for people to eventually be able to pass me...
Hey question for you if you don't mind me asking. What did you pay for that trailer?
I bet a road like that makes you appreciate the interstate better 😕😕
Peggy Lewis there's nothing like a ride in the county I love going way out nothing prettier
Peggy Lewis this is always nice, when I’m at home, I stay off of the interstate, after running them for 2.5 million miles, you enjoy stuff such as this.
Ch Robinson won't pay good unless they have to!
Some of these roads look like the lower back roads of Cape Cod.
How is it like driving a semi
Tim, when are you going to get out here to AZ? :-) Up at my house in Flagstaff this weekend, finally a bit of snow and the boy wants to go skiing, so headed to the mountain today. Hey Tim , I want to go to work for you !
