I passed my CCNA last January, in the form of ICND1 and 2, but I'm still learning from your videos! The explanation is clear and logical, really like it!
I am a 100% noob to cyber security/IT-related fields. I am currently in my first class for Cyber Security. This series has been SOOOO helpful!! I get excited for the quizzes because I actually understand what you are teaching ONLY because of the way you are teaching it. thank you so much!!❤ I am actually learning more with you than my college class😊
I am following a lot of computer science channels. But this guy is simply my favorite teacher. I don't feel like I am watching an educational video ( which is what I do actually), I feel entertained and I am having fun. Networkchuck you are unique and awesome!
I always find it interesting with all the emphasis on cloud and wireless computing these days ; the general public often forget there is some serious hardware that’s the backbone of the internet. I’d be interested in a presentation about the global connections (undersea cables, cables to cities, satellites, etc) .
Hey Chuck! I've worked as a data center tech at Softlayer/IBM for over 5 years. Thanks to your study tips, motivating videos, and hard studying these past 7 months I've just started my new network support engineer position last week! My birthday present next month will be to finally pass my CCNA. Thank you for all you do to keep us motivated during this tough year!
My man, I hope you realise how much of a good teacher you are. You have taken one of the driest topics and brought it to life. I feel I'll have to invite you to dinner when I'm set

There's been a lot interest lately in using the new "bare metal switches" loaded with linux-based open networking software like SONiC for Spine and Leaf functions in a datacenter. How does one get involved with those? Or, how do you decide to use bare-metal hardware rather than offerings from Cisco or Juniper? I really like the concept of something like SONiC but it seems intimidating to get started with.
Great video, finally seeing folks interested in a Spine/Leaf Design or Clos Fabric ( Level 2), I have been designing Clos Fabrics since 2000, started with Catalyst 6509’s with 8 Spines using ECMP with some special tuning for hashing method like a pearson hash! If you’re are interested, contact me on LinkedIn!
youtube is not working for chinese. how can i do ? if i got these technology, but i can not network projects ,ONLY those chinese can do . china is not freedom market. how i working hard, but i can not get the job .
I would gladly pay for a course like this.. without a doubt. The way you pair your enthusiasm & passion for our industry with the great explanations & knowledge is phenomenal! We NEED strictly Network Chuck courses!!! Much love & peace!
I work at amazon and we are switching FFN over FcNet, I had 14 hours training and couldn't understand s**t, your 20 mins video made me an engineer, lol. Thank you Chuk. Give me the link to buy coffee, I wanna try it, I love coffee.
Hey, Chuck! Great video, I’m glad you covered data center networking. I’ve been a data-center technician, analyst and system admin, now I’m a data-center operations network engineer. Thanks to you, I’ve been able to dicier a lot of networking questions. I would like to see more coverage on data-center networking, it’s amazing and complex. Just to give you a side note, we are currently implementing a spine-leaf topology running bgp, underlays and overlays, etc.
We actually do connect two leaf nodes together using MLAG (Arista). However, only two per (pod). So they are in pairs. We currently use superspine -> spine -> leaf. And we have protocol switches within the racks the connect to the leafs. From the leafs up it’s all L3. And we use ECMP for the load balancing. Man, it be nice to chat with you about this sometime. But for now, hope the next video goes over ASNs lol.
I never tired of repeating it over and over again !!! THANK YOU CHUCK for teaching us in this pleasant way the structure of data center and giving us the knowledge of network devices that in Latin America are out of budget. This is the best CCNA course you can take and it's free !!! You are simply amazing !!!
The unassuming, unfiltered, unacademic way you explain this makes me feel like we're sitting at a coffee shop (plug intended) talking casually while you doodle over a napkin how these things work. Ever heard of the Feynman method? 'Cause you're doing it. This gives me faith in humanity, well done sir!!
I've worked in Datacenters for the last 13 yrs. I work on Network capacity ( Scaling). Thank you for your courses. They have helped quit a few Techs that I know
I worked on a network literally in a janitorial closet. The rack was next to a floor drain used by janitors. This was a silicon valley hospital pathology lab. They finally upgraded out of there in 1994.
I love the fact that you make it as real as possible and show us the actual hardware as it helps. Like the energy you bring probably the coffee beans that you sip in each video.
Ive worked at a data center for the last 3 years and now have my interview for a data center technician :) thank you for making an awesome and valuable channel !!!!!!
What a fantastic, helpful, engaging, fun, and rewarding course! I'm still studying for my A+, and I started this series with the "subnetting" chapter, and then went back to the beginning. I'm so glad I did! Chuck is one of those gifted individuals who not only *really* understands what he's sharing, but you can tell that he loves to share what he knows, not least because he's really passionate about what he's sharing! Any of the videos for this course are excellent for seasoned veterans and novices alike. And every time I hear the "click" of an ethernet cable being plugged in, I will think of Chuck!
I just found you on youtube a week ago and love this content. I'm working on my CCNA because I fell into setting up Cisco networks for Data Center Physical Security systems. At first I was doing basics like setting up network management and vlans. But now they've gone full redundancy and I'm learning spanning tree and portfast commands as I go. I share in your enthusiasm for this and love learning more and more. Thanks for all the visual explanations and simplifying some pretty complex information. Great Job.
For anyone complaining that CCNA only has a 3 year certification know that when I got my CCNA back in 2012 leaf/spine switches were not even talked about. The technology is moving ahead so fast that in 3 years so much can change. The cert is well worth it!
The first time I stepped into a data center I wondered if ear plugs were a requirement that I had missed. It's truly a crazy experience and most of the time here in PA they are located in the most obscure places you'd never imagine. Great video as always. Thank you Chuck.
It's pretty good how you're able to provide so much value and getting affiliations like that.. that's how it should be done. Man you're meant to be an IT guy & Coffee guy too ..
I lost my job because of covid and i'm going back to school in Networking IT. You videos helps me a LOT. I never comment but wanted to take time to thank you sincerely.
I wish he made this CCNA series a year ago. when I was learning all this, it was so hard to understand. But he explains in such a great manner that he made it look like a piece of cake. I am watching this series again because he is such a good teacher.

That was AMAZING!! Mind you a lot of what I learned prior to what was explained here was where I was laughed at. So I made my own rack NOT containing a load balancer or software till I now understand why this needs to be part of the network. So much to learn and remember with the fact that I have to forget about half of what I was taught in the past. Soon as cloud computing came out, things were just beginning to change faster and quicker. It still made it much cheaper to buy the old or replaced hardware. Thank you so much for the videos and all the work that you do and hand to us for free. I will not download your videos anymore though, hope that was not a "my bad" situation.
Your combination of knowledge and enthusiasm is so infectious. When I was in the Cisco academy course I got to tour a police HQ and university DC. Crazy stuff to see in person. Good way to nerd out!
Great video. I have worked in a datacenter and never knew this. It all comes together now. They would use the old network design en forget about redundant power. A switch would fail and so would the whole rack or racks. On hot summer days the hvac system could not cool enough en drives in raid arrays would fail by the hour because of the heat. Vps is the way to go and if you could ditribute them across different services and locations you have no worries. Not to mention server maintanance. Keep up the good job.
What do data centers look like? Yes please! Thanks network chuck for your videos, they help a huge amount to a fella who can't afford these courses at the moment and is eager to learn. 👍
Omg this video was so helpful and further solidifies my progress. I didn’t understand this at all when I took my CCNA but now after 2 years of being a network engineer, this makes perfect sense. Thank you!
I am the network/server/telcom administrator of our company and the data center is 8 racks of servers, storage arrays, switches, and routers. We love virtual servers!
I currently take care of the chillers that provide 50 degree water through a data center keeping all of the equipment cool. I also work on all of the building automation for these buildings as well so learning the in depth workings of the networking has been so cool. It is very cool to walk through this data center looking at all of the servers and even the computer housing the AI for the school. Thank you Mr. Bearded Javaman ...been watching your videos for about 2 years now...I'm 6 months in working as a hardware operations engineer for a rapidly growing data storage company green is a great color lol
It is great learning hub on Networking.. Loved to watch your videos on CCNA track whose contents are designed systematically and full of knowledge on the relevant topic. I am an experienced It professional and used to develop applications in the begging and then started functional/administration related work on ERPs and have been refreshing my Network skills these days. Enjoying your technical videos and I have updated some tech skills through your lectures.
Thanks for this Course, Chuck! I am actually having a good time prepping for the CCNA. I look forward to learning much more from this series. You've got my like!
Thanks...! even though I have experience in the network field over 13 years, this is the wonderful explanation I ever heard regards to the 3-tier architecture.
Thank u Chuck for all information, this helps a lot! I passed the CCNP Enterprise exam and now I´m starting to Data Center studies. Greetings from Brazil buddy, have a nice weekend!
Your teaching style is both very informative/well taught and very entertaining. I love to learn, but love to learn even more when it's entertaining. Keep up the good work!!!
This is awesome! I am currently a math teacher. Contemplating switching to Cisco as we have a program for that in our school. This is very helpful. Thanks!
Great explanation Chuck! Thanks for your hard work and dedication in the IT Industry! I'm close to taking my exam for my Network+ then I'm going for my CCNA next. Love the energy!
I've been working in DCs for at least 5 years now and have seen a lot of things. I'm a senior tech for a fortune 500 company and work in the biggest in the region. LOTS of DWMA fiber, lots of routers. Tons of servers and exabytes of storage. I love what I do and wouldn't change anything.
I run a video production company. My staff are thirsty for speed with zero downtime, so we're running a 10G network for multiple editors-so naturally I've ended up as a network engineer 🙄This is the first bunch of videos that are actually giving me the detailed, foundational info that I've been looking to sponge up to back up my troubleshooting efforts. Great work, Chuck!
Hey! I’m about to start a new job working at a big data center as a data center technician and I was wondering if I could ask you some questions about it. Thanks!
I love your videos NetworkChuck. Your explanations are so clear and humourous that it makes any boring and difficult networking talks fun and easy to learn!

Yeah it’s 100x easier to learn something if you have good material and teacher. Most books and stuff are a nightmare to start off.
@@Larimuss ya this makes the books 10x more enjoyable to read imo.

Greatings from Germany. I love your way of explaining things. I helps me pretty good through my trainee time as system engineer.
“Click click, I want my website to be there and it’s happens” classic chuck
I run a video production company. My staff are thirsty for speed with zero downtime, so we're running a 10G network for multiple editors-so naturally I've ended up as a network engineer 🙄This is the first bunch of videos that are actually giving me the detailed, foundational info that I've been looking to sponge up to back up my troubleshooting efforts. Great work, Chuck!
