I landed here on my honey moon in 2001 and yes it is an impressive accomplishment to land and take off here. These guys that come in and out of here have to be among the best I think. It was lots of fun to watch this the whole time we were there! And what a wonderful little piece of paradise!
A nice compliation featuring many great landings with varying aircraft. Loved the 747/400 takeoff too. You just wouldn't want a VII drama. WoW fitting soundtrack too. - Like it alot!

i LOVE THIS!!!! its the best i've seen so far! I am from the VIrgin Islands and i always wanted to go to st.maarten just for this reason, plane spotting... but every time i get there i never get the chance to do it. too much fun!!! i jus love st.marteen!

Despite the fact that the runway is under 8,000 feet, It is still known to handle larger aircraft. Due to this, planes make the lowest approach over the public than any other airport in the world. This one airport is the main attraction for any aviation enthusiasts. Also, saint martin itself is a really nice place to go on vacation for.
@TeamLeftmatch777 what a lot of people dont understand is that the 747's and md11 flights are shared with other islands in the Region, they do not depart direct to europe they go to Bonaire or Curacao in the south take on more passengers and fuel and then head back to Europe. When they take off they only have limited fuel and small amount of passengers for the hour or so flight to the other islands understand now?
Wow! Thats incredible footage...now I want to go there, experience for myself, but..oh well, will have to settle for watching here...tks for posting this! Glad it wasn't another stupid computer generated fake landing like most posted here. the last few shots...wow...thats just too close for comfort! But most definatly NOT a place one can relax and take snooze on the beach!
super Video ! Es ist sogar schonmal vorgekommen das die Piloten den Zaun mit den Rädern berührt haben. Für diese kurze Lande und Startbahn müssen die Piloten eine extra Ausbildung machen.
I'd love to stand on that beach and film them too. But I'd have to arrive to the island on a boat because no way, no how am I going to land at that airport! LOL!

I used to work on cruise ships, and I visted Run Way beach a few times to watch the planes coming in.

yes it is the same song at 1:40 the song is made by enigma, and the song is called sadness,then it switches over to the matrix theme song around 4:35

it is located in the (Netherlands Antilles). It is a group of islands about 150 mile east on the Dominican Republic
Yes they do, but it's much more challenging due to the mountains on approach. its almost like the approach in Hong Kong(old).
i took a cruise in 03 that stopped on the french side, i wish i had known about this while i was there i would've gone!

@hmn88 it probably blows the same direction 340 days of the year . It's a basic part of airport design , to align it into the prevailing headwinds

this place is ideal for plane spotters...
