Main difference was the MMX instruction set, which didn't make much real world difference at first. However, MMX Pentiums also had twice as much L1 cache (32 KB vs 16 KB), which helped make them a bit faster in most tasks. On Intel's "iCOMP Intel 2.0", MMX Pentiums were listed as being 25-28% faster than non-MMX Pentiums, but take that with a grain of salt. Basically MMX was introduced because Intel needed to give customers a reason to keep buying the older Pentium, without them having to increase clock speeds. The Pentium Pro was meant to supersede the Pentium, but it never happened. Intel then tried again with the Pentium II, but the original chipset (FX) was outdated, which delayed the Pentium's demise even further. The P2 should have launched with the LX chipset at the start.
I have one of and probably the only surviving “bunny” radiation suits in this commercial. I worked for the ad agency that made this. I’ve been asked to donate it to the computer history museum. Wherever that is or sell it. I was there when it was made. Not sure what to do with it. Sell it on eBay? I don’t know. Been sitting in a box in my garage for years.
How bizarre it looks. Given nowadays the average smartphone is more powerful by orders of magnitude and the degradation of IT. The last good decade without the ubiquitous internet.

Ah yes, that 70s retro thing that was happening in the 90s
yeah back when it was fun to work at intel now days it's just boring now because they don't make the Pentium mmx processor anymore😭😭
I miss the days when they'd localise ads for the Australian market (I think I recall they actually had to in Australia). They don't bother now.
I like the sound effect of MMX very much😂

Wikipedia said there was one that played "Outa Space" by Billy Preston. Would someone tell where I can find it?
