Very nice review! I was not a MAZDA guy, but in January i purchased a Mazda3 sedan!I can tell you that once i drove this car i will never buy something else in the future.I am parking the car, and i am looking back to see her once again.....

Great 😊 Review! The 2 has a small but growing cult following in USA 🇺🇸- it’s quite Miata-like in its demeanor and lightness and scale - but unlike the Mx5/Miata - it actually has a back seat and a much larger boot/trunk. Mazda now wants the 3 to be entry level car here 🤷🏻♂️

Mazda 2 was my second choice before I bought a small subcompact, ended up buying jazz, still thinking of Mazda 2 if I made the right choice... Mazda are assembled in Japan so quality is there
Not every Mazda.. The Mazda 2's which come to my country (Israel) are asembled in Thailand. But even so, I have never heard any reliability issues to those as well, just as reliable.

Mazda 2 will be OEM-supplied by Toyota's Yaris Hybrid in the European market, and some are concerned about the future of Mazda 2 in the Asian Pacific market. However, I also wanted a review of smart city brake support and radar cruise control! The price is expensive for a B-segment hatchback, but the quality is beyond its class!

Thanks for thw review Caco, Please let me share My experience itself on Mazda 2. My wife introduce me to this hatchback a month ago, sabi nya gusto nya ito so ako naman kumontra since na research ko na ito kotse na to. Sabi ko sa wife ko ayoko nyan overkill ang price para isang maliit na hatchback lang hndi na sya masyado nag update eversince etc etc. In short nag away pa kami ng wife ko dahil dyan. But this last tuesday november 21, 2023 napilit nya ako tignan on actual yung 2024 version nya so sige ako naman sumunod. Na shocked ako na grabe maganda pala sya sa personal (take note ayaw ko sa hatchback na to at first) pero kapag nalapitan,nahawakan,na test drive and naupuan mo ito masasabi mo na grabe premium feel pero hatchback lang. Promise ang ganda nya in and out. Di ko tuloy maiiwasan i-compare sa mga ka segment nya.
Iba nga talaga ang Mazda 2 Sir! Sits in its own class within its segment.

If I remember correctly the heads up display was available in the limited edition hatchbacks (midnight, kabuki and crimson) and in the 2016 Mazda 2 R top of the line model which was the test unit when I was buying my first car. Sadly with the budget influencing my choice, I went for the V variant with just the 2din head unit. It was actually a bummer because a few months in, they introduced the V+ variant which comes with a touchscreen less the leather interior, LED headlights, rims, etc. of the top model. Nevertheless, this being an enthusiast's first car of this day and age is probably one of the best choices you'll make in your entire life.
Iba talaga ang mazda. Underated lang dito sa pilipinas. Pero kung masusubukan nila. Iba ang feeling kapag mazda ang drive mo compare sa honda at toyota.

it's good but the hatchback category has very small markets in Ph today. Compact crossover is taking over, with a price of 1.1M. you can get a lot of alternatives. They need to level up if they want to catch up with the very competitive market as of today.
Good point. But I think there's still lots of people out there who want premium hatches. Closest to this price for a crossover (in terms of interior) is Geely for sure. My co-worker has an MG ZS Trophy, my friend just bought the new Raize and my cousin has the previous version of this Mazda 2. Tested those cars and if I'm being honest, none of them are close when it comes to driving dynamics, HANDLING, and of course... its premium feel. But yea people now want big cars to use in our very small Ph road. It makes me sad. lol
@@alwayswannadie7328 I'm so inlove with Mazda designs, simple but elegant. Please try to drive Geely, their DCT and engine tune up really surprises me, it's so responsive and the tech is solid,

@@karlg715 yup tested an Azkarra years ago, one of my choices back then. Because of being a new player here and China brand despite its good history and partnership with Volvo developing their 1.5TD engines, still opt-in for a Euro car. But whenever seeing Okavango or Coolray on the road always breaks my neck :>
Kinda agree with Raize, but of course we all know, its Toyota.

Back in 2016, this was one of the most if not the best equipped sub compact sedan/hatch in the market. Sadly, this newer model is only a facelift and still feature almost the same features (Blind spot monitoring is new tho). I won’t be surprised tho if Mazda were to kill the Mazda 2 since the brand is trying to go for the premium market.
The CX-30 is their best bet

It maybe low on power but i have tested the 2020 mazda 2 and the wife have jazz vx and the ride and the power of the mazda is better.
Pretty expensive but with free 5 yrs pms maybe it's still a good deal..
I'm eyeing this as my first car as well as Honda City. How much do you usually pay for PMS every year? So I'd know if this is worth the price :)
@@sergiobenoya i got a mazda 2 skyactiv as my first car instead of a Honda city which is my first choice. Never regretted it a second. Never spent a dime on PMS. You will just pay for parts that wears like brake pads, wipers, etc. Those you can buy outside to have it cheaper.
Tech-wise, driving comfort and fuel efficiency, mazda is better.

However, Mazda is Mazda. It's a premium brand. May not be as premium as Subaru but definitely not your typical Japanese car like Suzuki, Toyota and even Honda.

I have a 2016 model Mazda 2 and the heads-up display has always been there plus the 16" wheels...and correct, the tire has always been 185...

The Mazda2 is good quite good but not enough as a First choice not even an as alternative one because of Too much expensive price. You can buy a Compact Crossover for above 1M price Tag.
Guys, do you have experience of reliability and how good is it the automatic transmission on long term (>100.000 Km)?? We do not have enough record here in Europe. Thank you to share

Though we appreciate the international standard features than the typical 3rd world all power is a big deal features, the price is too high. Stop conditioning us that subcompacts are this high in price. Geely will takeover the market at this point. Though at least the Mazda 2 added some features unlike the super basic mirage g4 that increased its price without offering anything new besides the looks.

I have the 2017 Mazda 2. All the tyre sizes are 185/65 R15 or 185/60 R16 for the better spec Mazda 2's

Add 300,000php and you get Mazda 3 with 2.0L engine. Honda City RS is at 1,069,000php with arguably a stronger engine. As a big Mazda fan, it pains to say this but you'd be stupid to get this car at this price point.
i love mazda too.. but mazda 2 is quite pricey..
Agreed, the City RS is also more fuel efficient than the Mazda 3 with more interior room and tech
