As an Australian who spent six incredible years on Vancouver Island in my own self built campervan, before Covid turned my life upside down and took it all away from me, I’m sorry to say that this was simply too heartbreaking to watch. I’m happy you guys got to experience it though. It is indeed, paradise on earth.
@@talandmads thanks. And just FYI, if you’re still in Tofino (where I assume you’re headed next) make sure you check out Poole’s Land (ask a local). And if you’re still on the Island, don’t forget to check out the Gulf Islands. Every one of them is magic. Happy travels 💛
GOOD MORNING ladies and adorable Bowie. As usual, I love traveling with you; the scenary, different towns, and history. It's so nice how you take care of care of Bowie going over certain bridges. And Mads is so right; it's fun watching Bowie running free on the beaches. I also loved watching him surf with the girls. The life vest you have for him is so cool. So, I'll let you ladies take a rest and I'll see you next time. Yah....as if you two rest 🤣 Love you all.......... Bernie ❤
Happy Sunday Bernie!! Thanks for watching and leaving such a kind comment, as always 🧡 We have so much fun bringing Bowie along on our adventures! See you in two weeks! Take care :)
BC is gorgeous! I love the 3 of you on the paddle board 😊not gonna lie, that Nanaimo bar had me drooling 😂 thanks for a great start to my Sunday!!! Stay safe ladies ❤
Greetings ladies from Northern Ireland. Your trip to Victoria has brought back happy memories of our vacation to the island in 1998. We actually did the trip to Pemberton as well.
So glad you got to experience my neck of the woods. I grew up back east and moved out here after a vacation to visit family. I tell friends all the time that every place I visit in BC is nicer than the last one. Glad you are enjoying it! Great video as always!❤
Tal and Mad your channel has taken a big turn! You are producing amazing content. Since you left home foe Alaska you have really stepped up your content and quality of production. I love your channel. A big BRAVO to you both
You guys are never boring. I love that you are taking us with you on your adventures. Continue your fun adventures and the information that you give us about the places that you travel to. ❤❤
Poor Bowie, that was loud sounds for sure! Tal and Mads, you are the breath of fresh air we all need to keep smiling and loving life ❤Loving the new adventures every week as you make your way across Canada!
Wooo as another ontarian there’s nothing like a trip to BC for the beauty and see how much more of an outdoor/nature loving lifestyle it is out there everyone enjoys being outside so much more.
Welcome to the island! You have become a favorite VLOGer with your creative, high quality, upbeat videos. Thanks for sharing your lives (and Bowie's of course)!!
I didn't think your trip could get better than Alaska, but Victoria is gorgeous. A slice of paradise in Canada. I've been the BC, but only around Vancouver. Absolutely great video! I love bowie, what a cutie! Thanks for taking us along. Much love!
I live in Canada since 2001, now in Quebec City. I just came back from my first trip to the Gaspesie! First time for a Brazilian/ Canadian to go check a Canadian beach. Wow! I thought the water would be freezing but not at all! Was amazing. And in the middle of the city of Gaspé I found this amazing bakery called Oh! Just this. Oh! And it is by far the best I went yet! So, if you guys one day will go back to visit the Vanwives 😊, take a long way through the Gaspesie! It is amazing nature!
Wow! Talk about your beautiful BC! When I lived in Kelowna I did make it to the the island once but never got to Victoria. Boy, did I ever miss something! I spent fourteen wonderful years in BC and I miss it every day. Thank you so much, girls, for letting me live vicariously through you.
like you, i was from Ontario. moved here almost 20 yrs ago. Wish I knew you were coming, we live in Nanaimo, we love our VanLife. when we get to do it. I am still discovering the beauty of this island. There is so much. Looks like Sproat Lake.. make sure you visit Taylor creek swimming hole. Hope you get to visit more of the island.. -Stamp River Campground -Tofino/Ucluelet -Elk River Campground and the suspension Bridge near Campbell River -Sayward (we slept in the Library parking lot) -Port McNiel (stay at Cluxewe or Alder Bay). -so much more Would have loved to show you around but we leave on Thursday.. it is the 125th anniversary of the Klondike Gold Rush and they said they were having a party!! We are going to crash the party!!
If you plan to come back to our Island, I recommend you visit Hornby Island, you take a little ferry from Buckley bay which is very close to where you saw the goats on roof market in Coombs. The ferry gets you to Denman Island, then you travel across Denman Island to another ferry that gets you to Hornby Island. There you will find Tribune bay beach and campsite which now has recently been taken over by BC Parks. There is also a clothing optional beach about a 5 min walk from the campsite. It's basically paradise! Super laid back and chill, festival times are quite busy and there is a lot of partying if your into that, I show up at the tail end of the festival so I can have some fun but then the island clears out and it's back to being super chill. I had fun watching your video, thanks for putting it out there =)
Such an awesome adventure you guys are on and Bowie is having such a great time as well. Tal & Mads you guys always make me smile 😁 .. Catch ya on the flip side .. Cheers ☕☕☕
I watch your video each week and think you can never out do this one….then the next week you do!!!! Thank you so much for the time and effort you invest doing this. It is so enjoyable watching you ladies enjoying life and doing it with each other. Thank You!!!
I made the trip from Vancouver as well. Started out from San Francisco. I was 18 in 1971 and in my VW Bus. Camped in Nanaimo for a week. Loved it then but not enough time. need to go back now with my wife and take it all in again. Love Vancouver as well. Great vid. Always gorgeous. Thanks
Welcome to Vancouver Island. You zipped by our part of the world. We are west of Lake Cowichan 30 km at the head waters of Nitinat Lake, one of the wind surfing and kite boarding hotspots on the island. When highway 4 was closed for the fire at Cameron Lake we had tons of traffic on the detour route through the logging road that we are on. Great job on the highlights of your travels up the island. Love watching your channel, always a nice to follow along with you.
Your filming and editing skills are through the roof!!!! Your “storytelling” is strong!! If you learned how to do this so well, so quickly means that I too need to get signed into SkillShare!!! Nice job team!!! 🧡❤️💙
I have lived on Vancouver Island since 1991 having moved from my hometown in Alberta. Enjoy The Rock! Take in the relative peace and quiet of this special spot.
Welcome to Victoria/Vancouver Island! Greatest place in the world to live. Came here for university 35 years ago and never left :). You should see the Mystic beach waterfall in the spring. Hope you enjoy Tofino/Ucuelet. I assume that is where you are beach bumming. If you have time, Strathcona Park is a must do for hiking and wilderness. Myra Falls and Buttle lake are great. Also, definitely stop in Parksville to walk a couple of kilometers out into the ocean at low tide. Bring a pail and a little shovel and you can dig up clams and muscles there all day long. When the tide is in the ocean water there can be like a bath tub on a hot summer day.
For over 35 years I would leave my home here in Oregon and drive 2/3 of the way up Vancouver Island to Campbell River and then take ferries over to Cortes Island, which is an incredible paradise, to attend my annual month-long silent meditation retreat at a place called Hollyhock, which serves the best vegetarian meals I've ever had. I know you 2 are likely hundreds of miles away from Vancouver Island by now, but if you ever get the chance, be sure to hit Cortes Island for a trip into mystical paradise.
Had missed quite a few episodes after you took a break so binged them earlier today. In one of them you asked if you looked like sisters. I don't think so. Facially, if you were animals in a Disney movie I see Mads as a mouse and Tal as a bunny rabbit XD But similar height, slim build and hairstyles obviously
Thanks for sharing lovely ladies! It's always a pleasure to come along with you on your travels, and yes you do always make me smile 🙂 Take care, and happy and safe adventures! ❤
Grew up in Port Renfrew, Lake Cowichan and Nanaimo - Been all over the island, beautiful as well as secluded beaches - wilderness trails and mountains, that have influenced my life in one way or another. Of course, this was all before it was discovered by the rest of the world. So happy you chose to sip the nectare from which many a creative soul was birthed... Happy trails beautiful ladies and puppy - be safe and have fun.
Fantastic to see you enjoying the area so much. White Spot is great but my memories are of the drive in days when you didn't leave your car and the server took your order and then attached a tray to your car window so you could eat. They obviously don't do that anymore lol. The founder of the chain, Nat Bailey, has our baseball stadium named after him.
I honestly don't know why I haven't moved there yet. Vancouver Island is always stunning. Also, really great cinematography in this episode - clearly you were inspired by the unbelievable beauty out there! Well done!
I found you through the van wives…. started following and then as I’m getting ready to make my own dreams happen I’ve been off RUclips for the last couple of months… but as a retired Er nurse of 12 years and travel nurse the last 4 ….we should connect!! If you ever need a place to stay off grid I have a cabin in Vermont and working on another in Alaska!!! Safe travels I will be exited to catch up on your journey!
By far my favorite RUclips channel. The way you both look at life and adventure is remarkable. Always positive and making the best of whatever it is. And yes, I did laugh and smile while watching. Thanks for that! Safe travels.
I heard and saw a lot about the beauty of Vancouver Island, that it's definitely on my bucket list. I just wish it wasn't so far away from Vienna. You, however, brought me to a whole new place, Nanaimo. I never heard of this place, nor heard or tasted Nanaimo bars. I now have to check out how to make one myself. Glad you enjoyed being with the board in the water (seems like Bowie enjoyed it too).
Love this amazing and wonderful video from two amazing and wonderful young women love it 🥰 please stay safe and healthy and prayers and thoughts to you both love your Aussie family friend John ❤❤❤your amazing channel is awesome and is helping me deal with my mental health issues so thank you from the bottom of my heart ❤❤❤
Vancouver Island is the best! Have a great visit. btw - ferry food is hit or miss, when its good, its really good! If you're into ferries, check out Orcas Island on the next leg of your trip.
Tal and mads always enjoy watching. Always make me smile and laugh. Enjoy watching all your amazing adventures. Wishing you and yours very best in life. Take care😊
The long weekend is actually 2 weeks from this one. Monday August 7th is BC Day. Glad to see you in BC! Pretty sure I saw you on my commute to work in The Cariboo when you were driving back from Alaska. We were like ships in the night
Love you guys! I totally planned to go to Victoria this past spring but ended up with a torn calf. Now healed and watched your video which got me so inspired to plan again! How do you guys eat so many sweets and not get chubby?!! 😊❤️
What an awesome place to visit. Different cultural communities, awesome restaurants, and great hiking trails. How expensive is it to visit, and did Bowie enjoy the area? I can see that you guys enjoyed the visit. Thanks for the fantastic video. You guys ( all 3 of you) are extraordinary video graphic masters.
The novelty of BC Ferries wears off real quick once living on the westcoast. But. You guys missed the gulf islands. Have to check them out next time. 😊
I agree 100% about visiting your own country, I was born and raised in Scotland, I will retire from 32yrs working in the Whisky industry on St Andrews day 30/11/23, I intend to go visit many of the islands of Scotland, Victoria looks a lovely place to visit, Enjoy your time there, ❤️💜🐕
The "ooo, ahhh" acually made me choke on my coffee it was so funny. Thank you for your videos! You always have such beautiful sceanery and Bowie ineracting with all the new places is always a joy. I love when you cross over with others I love like Vanwives.
I watch & subscribe to numerous YT van lifer videos and yours are by far my favorite. The two (well, 3 of you) just seem to breeze along... and it's fun to watch.
Omg this one is a special one for me! I was born in Vancouver and lived in Victoria for about 7 years as well and haven't been back since before the pandemic so it was really sweet coming along on your adventures! Thanks for sharing Tal and Mads! 💗
Awe we love this so much!! What a wonderful place to live! Thanks for sharing that this was a special one for you and thank you for watching! We appreciate you!
worked for BC Ferries for 35 years if you have the time explore some of the smaller Islands Each Island is Unique in its own way . Vancouver Island is great, because you don't have to travel far to be somewhere different.travel times between areas are short for the most part
Great way to visit the country and explore some history. Have travelled Canada as well and met hundreds of people. Have yet to visit NFDLND, NOVA SCOTIA and PEI . Enjoy your trip be sure to WHALE WATCH and lobster bake, meeting new people can be rewarding. Thnx for sharing LATER! 😅
Love this video! Beautiful sights! That water was pretty choppy. Bowie is so cute. He really doesn't like crossing those bridges. Thanks for always making me smile. Will miss you next weekend but enjoy whatever you end up doing. Look forward to your next video ❤😊
Great video :) we visited Vancouver Island a few years ago (pre COVID) such a beautiful spot. We also got to try Curling & see an Ice Hockey match in Duncan....as Australian's it was something we don't really see. Such a blast, can't wait for a second visit. :)
Well well, had I known you would be in Nanaimo and travelling North, I would have camped out by the Island highway and waved as you went by. Goats on the roof is the best lol. Hope you have a great rest of your island trip. Love to you both and your fur baby ❤
Heeeeeey beautiful people! What did you think of Vancouver island? Is this not paradise?! Still dreaming of that Nanaimo bar 😍
No Sasquatch experience? Awe, they’re plentiful!
Always fun to travel along with you three. You always make me smile, chuckle and laugh! 😉
Loved it. I really should plan a trip to Canada sometimes.
Another beautiful spot! Thanks for bringing us along. Enjoy your long weekend!
My Mom used to make them too…but she called it New York Slice…lol. Just as yummy though.
As an Australian who spent six incredible years on Vancouver Island in my own self built campervan, before Covid turned my life upside down and took it all away from me, I’m sorry to say that this was simply too heartbreaking to watch. I’m so sorry this was difficult for you to watch! Hope you can make it back some day 🧡
I hope you get back here soon Luns486
@@talandmads thanks. And just FYI, if you’re still in Tofino (where I assume you’re headed next) make sure you check out Poole’s Land (ask a local). And if you’re still on the Island, don’t forget to check out the Gulf Islands. Every one of them is magic. Happy travels 💛
I’ve lived here all my life . Never got to experience Pooles land but wish I did. I sure hope someone else does the same thing up there
May all luck and good fortune come your way to get you back on the island again.

Hey Carol! Thank you!! We really love making you smile :) we’ll see you in two weeks! Take care 🥰🥰
I'm lucky enough to live a 20 min walk from downtown Victoria. It is indeed one of the best places on earth to live!

Enjoyed your video. Two weeks for the long weekend. But see you whenever.
