The rainwater replenishes Lopez Lake in SLO. Why are they not saving the water and storing it, and letting it flow back into the ocean? Seems like a waste, when a solution presented itself to fight CA drought.

They have 10 years of water supply in some parts of California. That being said desertification is a problem globally, and in addition to conservation we can innovate solutions, such as evaporation stations in other areas, to combat this.
