- Mike Piazza's Strike Zone is a baseball game licensed by Major League Baseball and was released for the Nintendo 64. It was developed by Devil's Thumb Entertainment and released on June 16, 1998, by GT Interactive. While being endorsed by Mike Piazza, Strike Zone represents all of the MLB players in the 1997-98 season including those in the National League and American League. The game offers standard baseball game play with all 30 official stadiums, a choice of leagues to play for, but also offers the player the option to design their own team and league, from the logo, and uniforms all the way up to player abilities and appearance. The player can play a single game, season of 15, 81, or 162 games,[1] the World Series game, All-Star Game, or compete in a batting challenge known as the Home Run Derby.

Mike Piazzas Strike Zone review on the nintendo 64. Recorded using an Ultra HDMI modded N64 console with an Elgato game capture HD60s capture card using a real game cartridge. So who's looking forward to the N64 Mini Classic console? what do you think the top 5 or top 10 baseball games of all time are?
kid: can we stop at KMart to get Ken Griffey Jr's Major League Baseball for N64?
Mom: we have major league baseball at home
Baseball at home:....
these videos are comfort food
Thanks Joel 😍
Damn this game was a big part of my childhood. I had terrible taste in games back then 😂
Haha really!?!?
I still play this game sometimes its actually really fun.
I read ´´Mike´s Pizzas´´ at first and i thought to myself ´´Where the hell he gets these games??´´ :p
Yeah, so did I. I want a pizza baseball game.
Haha 🍕
Mike Piazza's Pizza Stand
Nicolas Cortés Actually, Mike Piazza was a pretty big deal in the late-90’s. Even if you weren’t a fan of baseball, you saw him everywhere. From the news to shampoo commercials. I’m going to guess 90% of the game’s budget went into his endorsement of it.
Haha me too, some kind of Pizza Connection :D?
The worst endorsed game I can remember playing was Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball on the SNES. Such an awful mess. As for the N64, I pretty much stuck with NFL Blitz and NBA Hangtime, and then got into racing games.
I remember having fun with that game. I think it was a speedball clone? But I was a kid and a lot of stuff I remember as being good then isn't now lol.
Home Run-801 Feet. Lmao, that's not even physically possible.
Diet Lump? Mmm, sounds delicious.
Ken Griffey on SNES is my all time favorite baseball game, still play it to this day.
It’s definitely possible....in the world that this game exists lol
800ft is like the parking lot right?
I loved this game when I was a little kid lol
After 4 weeks I am now up to date watching your entire back catalogue!
Nice to see your from Leeds I work at Dewsbury!
Not from Leeds but I’ve lived here for 8 years now. Like many I came for uni, met my now wife and we have both never left 😬
@@n64glennplant at least it's a decent place and not Dewsbury 🤣 I live in Sheffield and have to commute everyday 😑
Now that would suck. My old boss used to do sheff to Leeds everyday...couldn’t think of anything worse 😱
@@n64glennplant ironically I have listened to your videos for the last 4 weeks through my cars Bluetooth. You need to make another 300 videos to keep me entertained while on the motorway haha
1:36 - oddly specific comparison but alright.
Yea that joke came completely out of left field.
Lol yeah.
Haha expect the unexpected
@@MNaz-op2qc Underrated comment.
Triple Play 99 and 2000 are the best baseball games ever for any console in the late 90's, even the N64, which only had 2000.
You really are scraping the fucking depths of hell with this Glenn 😂
Gotta catch em all!
Kenny Lofton was super fast in this game you could bunt and get on 1st base with ease lol
the ball moves before he bat hits it
Never need to see any ball movement before the big bat swings 😂
That difference in batting between top and bottom players is probably accurate, as it was the top players who are given more leniency to use steroids ;) .
Was this video in response to Pat and Ian's CUPodcast episode last month where they talk about the most overrated consoles? They both discuss this game.
No I don’t watch pat as I don’t find him entertaining. Ian on the other hand seems a nice bloke 👍
It’s so bad but when I was a kid it was awesome
Maybe Takara with the Penny Racers games.
Good shout!
The only good thing about this game was the create-a-team.
After all these years, tho, the thing that sticks out the most to me that I remember is the crowd. It's just so weirdly looking lol
The one that made Elmo's letter quest or whatever was the worst.
Shudder.....
I loved this game :(
metal bats cheat was the best
Look, with a name like Mike Pizza..... Piazza strike zone, came you blame them. The team probably wanted to make a pizzeria and bar simulator. Then got told told to make a baseball game.
Lmao that sounds more fun to me
It could have been like one of those Mario party mini-games where you have to put thr correct topping on the cake, but then with pizza :D :p
hey man i love your channel, keepem comin. i cant wait for you to review tony hawk 2.one of my all time favorite's. i would love to hear what you have to say about the n64 butchered soundtrack. i know they tried but its baaaddd lol
The texture for the crowd has not aged well!
Horrible isn’t it
Never heard of this one. I played mostly ps1 back in the day, but you'd think I would have seen it in stores over the past 10+ years... hahaha what a turd!
Yeah it’s a lil obscure
What will yo do after yo have reviewed all the n64 games?
Play them?
I could see him doing a N64 "mod watch" as there are some mods and translations coming out.
Bro I played the shit out of this game
It was solid
I wholeheartedly disagree with you
That’s fine, this is a community not a dictatorship 😄
You should review Castlevania 64
Glenn, when will you do a review of Castlevania Legacy of Darkness. Such a unique game and can't wait to hear your thoughts. I know I saw you did an underrated video so would be awesome to see a full review.
So what you’re saying is that this game about baseball is almost as bad as the actual game of baseball?
Could be worse...could be curling 😂
"Strike zone"? Sounds more like an ground strike aircraft simulator :P
lmao this game is awesome, y'all are haters.
You oblitared this game!
And this is obviously emulated
I don’t use emulators on this channel, it’s all cap on console ✌️
Ill never forget renting this game from Blockbuster man was it terrible..
I'm not sure why but I rented this like 3 times as a kid and didn't even like baseball. I think purely based on the guys name sounds like pizza and it was for the N64.
Well you know if i seen it at a pawn shop or something for cheap id probably buy it anyway. Even if it is bad because i bought wcw nitro not too long ago knowing it was terrible. Don't ask me why
Why does this game even exist in the world.
Someone, somewhere must have purchased it
I never knew what this game until today & looking @ this sorry mess I regret finding out about it...even for 98' these graphics are trash, The only reason why I even wanted to know about the game was bc Mike Piazza was on the cover of it
Damn I played NFL blitz and thought it wasn’t that good of a game, this game made me rethink that entirely
AtlasMoon NFL Blitz is a damn masterpiece compared to this game
Blitz is amazing
almost going back to back with these terrible N64 sports games, I bet Mia Hamm Soccer 64 is just around the corner.
Basically, How Lame!
Hello
Yo!
I world prefer to play real life baseball than play this monstrosity.
BUT. It is worst than Fifa 64?
Nah, fifa64 is the jimmy saville or games 😂
N64 Glenn Plant I remember that joke catching me by surprise... Not unlike jimmy saville sticking his hand down your pants on live TV
Better off playing with a trash can.😂
Banging on a trash can 🎶 ❣ Doug ❣
@@n64glennplant 😂😂😂
EA and squaresoft Lol
Lol
Ugh, I think this is the about bottom of the barrel, Mr. Glenn. Sports games are already the bottom tier in my book. And baseball games are the lowest category in that tier. And this sad excuse for a game is at the bottom of the bottom; the 7th circle of hell, if you will.
