@Fergus2k8 thanks bro, as a new Tekken 8 player who is planning on picking up the lovely Jun Kazama as his first character to learn, this should really help to give me the most definitive and concise guide to Jun Kazama that works so, I don’t have to worry about learning all the unnecessary info and I can learn more about how the game works at a systematic level as this is my very first competitive Tekken game.
Love your content and your Twitch streams, and this video is great! I wanted to learn Jun but found the idea daunting after being used to mostly maining Kazuya/Mishimas in previous games, but this video helped me a lot!
One thing I'd call out for IZU stance is the throw! It's a 1+2 command grab and people rarely see it coming. Once they do, you can start to launch them with the 2
I think you have done a great job to explain all her movements. But lack of essential game plans. If someone can utilize all her move set, he or she will not need such explanations to play her well. Beginners like me like to know some of her basic tricks/game plans so that she is functional at some low level play. For example, like throwing F4 in neutral for plus frames and then 1+2 to fish for jabs or D2 for low. If opponent realize they can crouch the F4, then try to throw FF1+2.
Yeah, this is more of a honest, safe-ish high-level guide. I'm almost purple rank and I utilize completely different moves, like f3,2 for izumo approach from mid distance mixed with f3,4 if they start ducking. Or ff2,3 for long distance aproach mixed with ff2,2 mid. If they block ff2,3 you push them back like crazy and no one notices that and they start pressing, and you easily whiff punish them. Basic space trap. ff3,3+4 for plus frames approach - extremely useful for getting in, but the second part can be interrupted. 2,1,1+2 string ends with high. You have 2,1,3,1 for mid vartion, and if they block 2,1,1+2 high variation you push them back, and if they start pressing, you get easy whiff punish again.
Amazing job Fergy ❤❤❤❤ I'm so happy she's back it's still unreal to me, my matches with Jun until now has been very enjoyable and found out immediately my way to place her new stuff, can feel the sinergy and her new magic attacks makes it even better 🎉
I swear Fergus is the only reason I actually learned how to play this game especially with this being my first fighter. The asuka guide he released really helped me out
Thank you for this Jun guide. I wanted to go back to truely learning and maining Jun after learning the mechanics of Tekken 8 and reaching MR with Azucena first.
Jun is one of those characters where 99% of their moves are completely viable. Ran through everything with her in practice mode and you could really throw off an opponents timing with how much is here. Great guide and appreciate making her a bit easier to digest
Tha k you for the information and effort of putting the video together. I did struggle with understanding some of your verbal notations due to the accent. In my opinion it would be helpful if uou left the notations on the screen of the move you're displaying while you're discussing it. But thank you for the guide
Do you recommend as a new Tekken player (but played some FG before), learn the game with Asuka and then jump to playing Jun? I dont mind learning Jun first but just asking.
asuka's easier overall but is kinda weak and requires thinking (and timing) at higher levels of gameplay. their playstyles are a bit different too, jun's a lot more aggressive than asuka because of strings and plus frames. asuka has little going for her so id say go with jun at first.
Hey, thanks for such detailed guide. Btw can someone explain what is the point of her 1, 2 SS? I just tested it - if the opponent punch right after 1,2 on block he just smack her, even if she is +1 xd. I guess it is because oponents model auto-reallign faster then she is able to block. If she do say SS 4 - it is now 23 frames instead of 18. Does this mean you ALWAYS better just wait until her 1,2 string animation end, and only then sidestep normally instead of SS cancel?
Great video, for future consider makeing the music a bit lower since its pretty gritty it kind of irritates the ear when im trying to hear you speak and it goes over you. Thanks for the guide !!
True. That is ridiculous and as a tekken player , it looks to me like that is absolutely not intended. They might simply stop you from standing up at all with a patch, although i also hope they make it rollable.
I use miare 2 to bait them to rush them I mostly play to pressure and zone pressure if it’s aggressive player I pressure and patient player I zone with her
Hey Fergus t8 is my first fighting game since I was a kid with t3. So far I’ve been finding it more comfortable to play with the analog stick: but heard recently the d pad is much better. Do you know anyone who can perform very well using the sticks? Or should I bite the temporary suckage and start using the pad?
@@Muchomango1337 yeah I think I was being a bit self conscious, I did a bunch of arcade and then stepped back into comp using d pad only: and still could hang just fine: not quite the blowout I expected
I like how people say she strong asf💀but I almost never play against the character I have been playing for at least 8 hours straight and not once have I come across a single Jun player in rank or quick match the same goes for Zafina
Not really much of a nerf. They just changed her high damage guaranteed wall splat combo, which he doesn't even go over in the video as he doesn't cover any of her optimal combos. Everything else that made Jun strong remains unchanged and so this Jun guide is still very much relevant.

this is incredible, one for Asuka would be so nice. you are amazing!
I pinned one for Asuka on her tutorial 🙌
I just bought T8 and want to learn this character so this video and document are valuable info for me. Thanks a lot.
Beautiful.❤❤❤
Hyped to watch 🎉
Thank you for your hard work and look forward to more character guides!
Thanks so much! ❤❤
Thak you so much for this. I'm a Tekken first timer coming from SF6, now learning Jun, this will my bible for the coming weeks.
I’m coming from soul calibur 6 ironically
I got my first Garyu rank with Asuka, thanks to your guide. Now, i'm going to be trying out Jun. Thanks!
Lol
Thank you so much man ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for not including combos and just getting into the character breakdown. So tired of YT being flooded with combo guides.

Time to learn this mess, thanks Fergus
Yoooo Jun is op video coming out soon? 🤔
thank you for this guide! started labbing w/ jun yesterday, excited to see where i go with her from here. looking forward to more!
Have fun man just got my Jun to Garyu
Looking for some more tips to learn so I can get past red ranks. She’s a cool character
Awesome guide. Learned alot from this. Everyone too busy making Reina guides instead of Jun stuff.

F3,2 picks up the opponent

Thank you Ferg! Your hard work doesn't go unnoticed.
Miare Stance can be canceled by inputting db. Not sure if you mentioned this already in some other video but there you Jun players go.
Thank you so much for this. Just what i was looking for. I have plateaued

Been looking forward to this guide since launch, thanks for putting it all together.
You can hit confirm b3 into 4D. 4D leaves you crouching and you can use WS2 as a launcher.
My go-to is b3 4D WS2 f3211 b21F 2.

Please do this for asuka also again if you have time this guide was so easy to understand and the doc was amazing
This guide should be INSIDE THE GAME for jun tutorial
still gonna play her even if patched, junwaifu in the house
Thanks!
Thank you 💓💞
another great move especially for lower ranks is isumo 1+4 (throw). Its a 1+2 break, so low ranks will just suffer..
Thanks Fergus for this much appreciated!

Best jun tutorial so far
Greetings, thank you so much. Is Jun good choice for a beginner? I am new to the game

Oof unfortunate timing for the guide given that a patch is coming out tomorrow. Hopefully a lot of stuff in your guide will still apply
Pretty sure it's a hot fix patch more than a balance patch so hopefully this should still be relevant
Are there patch notes?
I don’t think anything other than uf1,1 will get changed

Goated comments both of you@@finnfeaver1196
What is Jun's weak side?
does WS 2,1 still wall splat?
Is there no end to this fucking conflict. Quite.
I like jun a lot but especially coming from Zafina, she’s too strong
Jun’s about to join Drag and Reina at the top of character popularity chart, huh?
Such a pure heart @CKTFergus ...
What does the ki charge move do im confused
Ki charge gives characters counter hit properties without actually having to hit them
You can just neutrally get out of Maira by hitting db.
Ferguuuuuussssss
I love your character breakdowns but I must say, some words are very hard to hear.
I hope they dont nerf jun too hard especially with knee claiming she is broken.
This is the same Knee who claimed Victor was fine because his pokes were “weak?!”
I’ve seen Knee’s Jun lose to plenty of other characters. She’s a strong pick but she clearly isn’t “broken” by any means
first ❤
Lol a guide for one of the most easiest and dishonest character ever
If u fr play jun just delete
Bro you don’t leave the button prompts up long enough. No help at all.
have you tried pausing the video
She’s getting nerfed tomorrow. This guide will be obsolete.
Source of the Jun nerf claims?
The patch drops today bruh, you don’t know how time zones work?
