A sizable audience assembled on July 11 to witness fishermen in Arica, Chile, successfully reel in a massive oarfish. Captivating footage, captured by Ruben Luis Gonzalez Sanchez, documents the impressive catch being hooked at the head and carefully transferred from the boat to the shore.
According to Sanchez, the vessel transporting the fish arrived at Arica's port around 10 am on July 11, 2022, prompting the gathering of onlookers as a crane hoisted the substantial sea creature. Local media sources reported that the fish measured 19.6 feet in length.
