    Heads up to anyone really interested in this bow : Sean's outdoor adventure channel on RUclips has a very extensive review covering actual fps at all draw lengths if you care to have a look.
    Peace!

    Pulled my Alaskan out of the box. Checked spec on A to A and brace. Right on from the factory. Set poundage. Timed cams, they were slightly off and needed one twist. Put on a whisker biscuit and shot a dozen arrows to settle the string a bit. Switched to a Vapor Trail Pro VX. First shot was point high/tail low. Moved the nocking point up a hair. Bullet hole. Zero side to side. With a 400 spine it shot bullet holes with 100, 125, and 150 grain points. One of the easiest bows to tune I have had as of late. Not bad for a $499 bow, considering I have had much more challenging times tuning the big flagships in some cases. Also worth noting, the peep settled in the first couple shots and there is now zero peep rotation. Bear strings are better than Mathews and Bowtech for sure, and at least as good as Hoyt and Prime. It looks to me like Bear might be thinking of dropping the Alaskan from their lineup soon, get one now if you want an extremely high value bow.

    That 15 lb range is REALLY nice. I was coming back from a shoulder injury and was able to turn my Beat Species down nicely. Was very helpful and I am back up to around 65lbs now.

      Yeah. Seems to hang with a lot of flagship bows for less money.

    You can get this bow in a Rth package. They renamed it “Resurgence rth” it’s the same bow. Changed the name so they could sell it online.

    I have an opportunity to buy a Bear Alaskan or a used Matthews Triax from my local shop. I've watched all your videos on this series and have heard you say that these new budget bows might be better than older flagships. Which one would you recommend? I really appreciate your input.

    I gave you a thumbs up but I really don't like the bow but you did a great review Most pro shops only review top end bows how about the bow packages and the lower end models ? everyone can't afford a $1,000 bow

      We don’t expect everyone to buy a flagship bow. We want to give customers what they need and fits their budget so more people can enjoy archery!

    What's the difference between the alaskan and the resurgence? They look identical in form and spec

    • @garyeverett2717
      @garyeverett2717 2 года назад

      That's what I came here looking to find out. But all I can tell is ones a package bow and one is bow only. But I would like to know the difference no matter how small it is.

    • @scottdavis2133
      @scottdavis2133 Год назад

      They are the same, the Resurgence is a package bow kit, the Alaskan is sold bare. They are same specs, cams, draw weights, limbs, risers and all. I have a Resurgence and compared it to an Alaskan at my local pro shop. Take off the stickers on the limbs and you'd never know they were different.

    Did you like the Alaskan or the whitetail legend pro better? And why?

    • @MikesArchery
      @MikesArchery  2 года назад +1

      They are both great feeling bows, especially for the price point. Not sure I would really put one over top of the other one. But the EKO cam offers more adjustability and the higher let off is nice.

    I hope this bow won’t be disappointing, the reason I’m saying this. Because I’m tired of hearing it’s made in the US, so there fore expect good quality.
    Not the case these days, I have order a few products and so far it’s been so disappointing poor quality. Especially when foreign products have been better quality, so sad. I will give this bow a try and hope not to be disappointed.
