I am torn between the LV Boulogne and the Odeon PM. I love the Boulogne for the ability to work day and night but also love the front pocket on the Odeon which seems so convenient. You made a strong case for the Boulogne as a travel bag which might be a winning argument. I wish I could get both. Great video.
Hi! I had considered the Odeon PM before and sometimes still tease myself by looking at pics of it on social media. I like the external pocket and the black trimming and strap, but here’s my analysis. First, some quick stats > Odeon PM: 9.4(L) x 8.7(H) x 3.1(D) inches USD2100 Boulogne: 11.4(L) x 6.3(H) x 3.7(D) inches USD2370 Although the Odeon appears bigger from the front, it’s actually shorter in length and depth than the Boulogne. The shorter length means a shorter opening which may make it more difficult to get in and out of the bag, an issue further compounded by the fact that it is quite deep, so it may be troublesome fishing things out through the small opening. The Odeon is taller but becoz it tapers up on the sides, technically only the lower part of the bag is usable. If you overstuff it, you won’t be able to zip it, and you’d have to play tetris whenever you take things out. Also, I’ve heard reviews that you can’t put a lot in the external pocket otherwise it will cause bulging and the zip will be wonky due to the bag’s trapezoid shape. If you’re looking for a casual crossbody bag and you don’t carry a lot of stuff, the Odeon is nice. It is also a little bit cheaper than the Boulogne. But, from the practicality, multi-functionality and aesthetics point of view, I prefer the Boulogne. I am not ruling out all messenger bags though; just comparing these 2 bags because they have a similar silhouette. Sorry for the long reply but I hope it helps ☺️.
