And I agree about how things have changed. 15 years ago it was much different than it is now. It’s still great but like all good things it gets discovered. And yes, it’s not fast. Haha! My mother in law built a home and that was quite the journey as well as maintaining. Being fluent in Spanish is very helpful when living there.
My mother in law lived in los barrilles for 20 years. I always enjoyed visiting and my husband and I still have friends there and plan to go next year. ✨
Caravanning down in November with a small group then will be on my own for 3 months….looks like this might be just the place to hang my hat for a while!👍
With a windswept perch on glittering Las Palmas Bay, the fishing village of Los Barriles, Mexico is an adventure lover’s paradise, and the kind of place where one can easily get off the grid. ‘The Barrels’ (as it’s known in Spanish) is on the southeast tip of Baja California Sur, and best known for its kiting spots, sport fishing and laid-back vibe that lures sun-seekers down the area for months at a time.
I am amazed that they didn't talk about the fabulous pickleball all about town and the fact that they have been down there several times and still haven't learned it's LOS Barriles, not Las Barriles............
😱Look at that water!! Guys thank you for doing a review of this place! We are going to be adding this one to the list of places to visit!! Off subject...Your shirts are awesome by the way! Where did you guys get them made? Renee and I have been trying to come up with a logo for our RUclips so that we can eventually make some stuff like that!
HappilyEverHanks we paid a designer on Fiverr to develop our logo. I think it cost $140 in all. He hasn’t been active for quite a while on there or I’d give you his info. Either way, there are lots of great designers on there who can set you up. Think about how you’ll use your logo: t-shirts, stickers, vinyl, stitch embossing, etc. and develop something that’s super flexible!
I agree. Why voice the growing issues and dislikes, then add to it? The masses don’t get the vibe of the town and stick out like a sore thumb. Why invite more?
What types of fish are possible to land off the beach? Late November I will stay here a full week for my 20th birthday! I have beach fishing experience here in California, and have a fishing setup that can cast 100 yards. From google earth, the shoreline looks prime. But in late November, is it possible to catch yellowtail, Jack crevalle, skipjack, roosters, or dorado off the beach? Let me know!
I don't know about Los Barriles specifically but usually you can ride mountain bikes wherever they're riding ATVs. The mountain biking is world class at an area to the north of there, near La Paz and El Sargento/La Ventana. ruclips.net/video/DsexDlNolwk/видео.html ruclips.net/video/p-ME7ASwVV8/видео.html
All the locals speak Spanish and most speak English as well. I usually try to communicate in Spanish to practice, but if I get hung up I can just switch to English with no problems.
M Pierce yes, those are the “rules” but it’s Mexico, and in the smaller towns they still allow it and everybody does it. I foresee a time coming however when that will change.
@@HampyCampers Wrong answer . They tolerate it generally but sometimes they crack down (I'm a winter resident homeowner there) It's against the law and you should abide by the Laws of Mexico where you are a guest. Just because everybody does it doesn't make it correct . Don't be a Karen.
Please try the pronunciation of los Barriles instead of butchering it with no care if you really like it so much 😮 try being a better ambassadors 😅 Lol

Los barriles is beautiful!
Thanks for sharing....where did you guys stay?
david inzunza Tiburón Ballena. You can find it on Air BNB.
@@HampyCampers thanks much.
Is the one close by Casa Colleen?
david inzunza I have t heard of that one, but it’s right close to the heart of downtown.
Three years and a pandemic later, it is getting quite touristy over the entire East Cape, Los Barilles included. Still pretty nice, though.
Not just Los Barriles, which I’ve been to, but other nice locations quite close by.That who area is nice.
The Grizzwalds go to baja, great!
So it sounds like there are plenty of bars and restaurants within walking distance of the beaches?
SSSHHHHH Yall are telling too many people about this gem!!

Any places to long-term rent if I wanted to move down from Northern California
What rv campgrounds did you stay in. We have a 35’ travel trailer. We’re planning to come down for 3 or so months next year. TIA

Is there good mountain biking?

Los Barriles
When the lights are on but no ones home.
The "h" is usually (always?) completely silent, so it's (h) "uevos" and (h)"arina."
It went on a little long. I was pretty much convinced after the first five minutes or so.
We may love Los Barrels too much then! :).
Thanks for all the videos! Only thing, if you love it so much, can you pronounce it correctly?
does anyone speak spanish there? or is it all gringo couples?
All the locals speak Spanish and most speak English as well. I usually try to communicate in Spanish to practice, but if I get hung up I can just switch to English with no problems.
You would think that you have spent so much time in Los Barriles that you would be able to pronounce it correctly.
aquavelvet
mi casa es su casa !!
consider saying "Los" Barriles and not "Las" Barriles. After all you are not in "Las" Angeles!
You're not supposed to ride ATV's OHV's on the beach

Might you have something better to do?
